I absolutely love taking the train and find it to be a far more relaxing experience than driving and dealing with traffic! Cars are clean and air conditioning is usually running strong! Decent selection at cafe car and seats are comfortable enough for hours long rides. The jump to business class isn't too much more so if you're traveling more than an hour I personally recommend the upgrade. Business class comes with water/soda and a snack by my last trip to and from I didn't have an attendant come by so this was disappointing. Also wish attendants would address children that were running up and down aisles but other than that, I had a good experience. Power outlets available at each seat but not USB/USC so make sure to bring your base for cables. Curtains available to block out light and headrests have disposable paper sheets for sanitation

Why even bother? Booked last week and was emailed yesterday evening that there was an EVENT happening so screw the disabled people and make them lug around luggage over wires, cords, curbs, gravel, dirt, boulders to the other side so paying customers don't disturb a party. Absolutely no AMTRAK employee available but plenty of EVENT security. Sad and what an embarrassment for Anaheim. I can see why AMTRAK is losing money. Clueless employees, no announcements, lacking in ADA reasonable accommodations if there is a party at the station.

Since her introduction, she has transported an Emperor, VIP guests and lucky Park guests alike around Disneyland. Being able to ride in the Lily Belle is a special treat that can happen if you are taking a specific Railroad associated Guided Tour, but know that if the temperatures are too high the day/time you are there they will not bring her out and you will NOT get to ride in it. Club 33 guests, VIP's and occasionally random lucky guests can get a chance to experience the Lilly Belle- if you are ever so inclined to receive an offer don't hesitate! The decor is rich and filled with history- no spoilers will be given here! Part of the fun of the experience is learning about these things while on your excursion! If you ever are presented with the opportunity to ride the Lilly Belle, do not hesitate! It's any Disney lovers experience of a lifetime!

To kick things off on a sweet note, you are provided with Orange Juice + Cinnamon Roll to start the tour. I did provide feedback that bottled water would be a great option, and they advised they would bubble up the feedback. While you are enjoying the treats, your tour guide will introduce themselves and help you set up the headsets provided. I've had 5+ tour guides, and I can confidently say you will be in good hands no matter who you are paired with. Tour guide Nick was absolutely phenomenal, friendly and so informative! Full steam ahead! Without spoiling the whole tour, you will walk across main street with some stops for train history making your way to Frontier Land, Tomorrow Land, and even head back stage near Small World! No photos or recording is allowed, but let's just say it was pretty cool and full of train facts. Lastly, you will head towards Toon Town to board the Lily Belle - the highlight of the tour. I've always known it was the presidential car Walt dedicated to his wife Lillian, but I didn't know the full history as Nick helped give insights into the history. Truly fascinating and magical to take a ride around Disneyland Railroad in the iconic Lilly Belle. Note: Lilly Belle will not run if 80°+ due to stifling heat. Handheld fans were provided and pretty hot at 77° during the tour today. Once you disembark from your journey, you will be provided some parting words and wisdom; but that's not all! You receive a Disneyland Railroad keepsake. A big tip to help maintain the keepsake is to stop by Small World Toys to get a bag to store it in. What a way to commemorate such a momentous occasion as this is not often open to the general public. As our wise tour guide said and applies to this review... We have come to the end of line, my friends!

It was a colorful mini train with a driver in the engine trailing two train cars with two rows each, just big enough to fit a dozen small children. The kids went nuts for this train. There were too many of them to ride at once, but they took turns for the first few rides until some of them started to get bored and returned to the rest of the party. The remaining die-hards, including my son, kept the train full for the remainder of its contracted time. I think it was there for one hour, and my son was on board for more than 45 minutes. The parking lot was small, and the train had a tight route: two loops followed by a dizzying finale of mini-train donuts. The driver moved fast, swerving and accelerating to delight the children. They were all buckled in, with the driver checking himself before each departure, but it did feel a little bit dicey. I am not shocked that this Yelp page is mostly 5-star reviews, with a smattering of 1-stars due to child endangerment. (There appears to have been an incident in September 2017.) My boy and his friends had a blast, though, and no one was harmed by this hour of Trains on the Move. If you have little thrill seekers and moderate risk tolerance, your kids are guaranteed to love the speedy baby train.

The staff who…read morecome out are on time, friendly, and wonderful with the kids -- everyone always has a great time. My issue isn't with the train or the event day at all, but with the communication and management behind the scenes. After submitting an online inquiry for an upcoming date, I was immediately overwhelmed by the number of follow-ups -- within just a couple of hours, I received at least 7-9 phone calls, six emails, and multiple text messages. I wasn't ignoring anyone; I was simply in a meeting and unable to respond right away. It got so excessive that I eventually texted back asking them to please stop contacting me so much, as I had received all their messages and would respond once I was available. When I did reach out the next day ready to move forward and asked for the payment link, I was met with complete silence. I called twice to follow up and never got a response. This same kind of unbalanced communication happened during my first experience as well -- overly pushy at first, then unresponsive once I was ready to book. Another ongoing issue is their payment policy. They insist on payment in full upfront, which I've told them before I'm not comfortable with. Like most vendors we use, I prefer to pay a deposit to reserve the date and then pay the remaining balance on the day of service. They were not flexible with this, which makes the process unnecessarily stressful. I really wanted to give them another try, assuming my first experience might have been a one-off situation, but unfortunately it seems to be a consistent pattern. Whoever is running their office or handling bookings is highly unprofessional, and it's disappointing because the on-site team and service itself deserve better representation.

My train to San Juan Capistrano wasn't crowded at all, which made it extra relaxing, and although my return train was much busier, everyone still had a seat and the ride was smooth. One of my favorite things about train travel is feeling like I have my own driver which includes the ability to completely zone out - read, people watch, listen to music, stare out the window without traffic or parking issues. Even better, I was able to change my return ticket to an earlier time the same day with no issues - I appreciated the flexibility! First time and it was a little intimidating. I like to know what to do and how to get about with it. Picture me, someone who has never been inside trying to find their way around dragging a suitcase.... lol... I had a connection coming from Palm Springs which lead me to here. It's quite big and the whole Amtrak, Surfliner to metro was a learner for me. First off, I never knew that you could actually take public transportation from the city to the desert. I had a connection ended at Union which was pretty easy to get around. It's a pretty big station but plenty of signs to get you where you need to be. Plus with the metro, it's pretty self explanatory with the colors for the train. There's construction going on in the tunnel which wasn't much of a factor as we got to where we needed to be. Also, I didn't expect loads of food stalls available. I guess you have to feed people while they're waiting. I believe the main tunnel area was where all the trains, ie Amtrak and Surfliners come in while the another is where all the Metros are. There was plenty of staff on hand with questions if needed. I did both arrival and departure on the same day to test out the whole process. It was quite simple. Even if you arrive early, your train can already be docked and waiting till departure. Make sure to look on the board for which gate you suppose to be at. It's a big station but pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

Parking is affordable, but can get fisted and it's nice that they have the free Dodger Express Shuttle. But the restrooms are abysmal, especially for the women's restroom and the men's isn't any cleaner (according to friends' first hand accounts) and there's always litter somewhere and the subtle scent of human waste, but that's the DTLA experience if anything. That's why when I was told we were going to go to Union Station for dinner (when I was in Denver), I was aghast. Completely different expectations and execution. Union Station does its job, could always be a bit better, it's just that society needs to get to that point and we need to be a bit less of a car driven (haha) ecosystem where public transit is more friendlier and easier to use.

Sleeper cars are deemed first class. Or you can go coach for a lower fare. I recommend splurging on this. Our attendant Chris was very friendly and attentive with us and easy to talk to when needed.
