There needs to be more cops patrolling this station. My car was broken into. I don't drive a really nice car. Not cool.

This station and stop is well kept up, clean platforms, easy access, signage and kiosk... Exiting off the platform onto the street as well as returning was a bit different from some prior stops or even compared to the Expo line as the jumbo crossing signs are in the path of the sidewalk, which is fine and safe in a lot of ways, but I kept thinking it these started coming down mid cross my tall 6'1 self is like at sign level lol, but you do have a little warning when this happens. Lots of signage to help you navigate and still visible during night. The parking lot is nice (though limited) with connecting services directly in front of it, which you don't see at every Metro Station. I did notice it was barely in use, possibly due to the more recent restrictions and enforcements over the last three years. You can use your metro tap card (physical or digital) to connect with Long Beach Metro buses (reduced rate). Overall was glad to get off here to make my way over to a few places I'd been meaning to check out and only a few stops before the last stop at Downtown Long Beach.

It resides on the outskirts of the city of Compton, Los Angeles, bordering on the northside of Long Beach. It definitely needs some clean up in places and better functionality for safety especially exiting and boarding the platform for the light rail metro. I did notice that there wasn't as much light as the sun set in the parking lot area which is also part of their bus bay depot for lots of connections including one I took more inland down Artesia Blvd. Not a ton of signs and postings for route like you'd hope they'd have to make navigating easy, except for a small few on the platform. The Compton Station is only one away and it's super decked out compared to Artesia. Their Metro tap platforms and metro kiosk don't exist at this station, which I've never seen before. I don't know if they did at one point, but it does mean you can board here without a cost, but should still have a validated physical or digital card (via the Tap app) on your person in case of inspection - you can purchase and reload cards in the app or at local convenience places such as 7-Eleven and CVS to name a few. Some connecting services run more frequently than others so I'd recommend mapping your trip out in advance or having apps handy. Security was around and available as well as keeping an open watch. There was a man on the tracks at one point which they kindly asked him to relocate as this is a crime and he could go to jail as well as be injured... He decided to flip them off and go about his way O.o, and they're just trying to do their job and keep him and others safe. Welcome to Artesia Station. One thing I did appreciate about this station aside from security and the friendly bus drivers and seating in places I didn't expect were the art piece and messages from children displayed throughout the pillars of the platform. Very heartfelt. Very mindful. #LoveForArtandHeartinCompton

Haven't had any problems yet, and I didn't hear a lot of complaints from passengers I swooped up. But that's all based on no more than a few minutes' worth of waiting for all those times I did come through. But investing in maybe solar powered lighting to brighten it up a little might be a good one...

Long Beach was running its seasonal Water Taxi service during this May 23 to September 1, 2025, a fun, breezy way to get around the harbor for just $1 or $5 a ride! Two routes to choose from: 1. Aquabus (blue route on the map) * Ride time: ~20 minutes * Fare: $1 one way Stops: * Dock 4 by the Aquarium * Shoreline Village (Dock 9) * Queen Mary 2. Aqualink (yellow route on the map) * Ride time: ~40 minutes * Fare: $5 one way Stops: * Dock 4 by the Aquarium * Queen Mary * Alamitos Bay Landing (Berth 3) Tickets: You can buy them ahead through the Long Beach Transit APP, or just pay cash onboard (they can give change). Schedule & tips: Each fare is one way which means you can hop off, explore the area for a while, and then catch another boat back (just pay again for the return). Be sure to check the timetable carefully, especially the last trip of the day. Weekends (Fri-Sun) have more departures than weekdays (Mon-Thu), but either way, it's first come, first served and no reserved seats. If the boat is full, you'll just have to wait for the next one. Parking: Where you park depends on where you board. The official site has detailed info and you can search : Long Beach Water Taxis We parked at 99 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802 (height limit 8'2"). The boats have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a little snack counter. On our 40-minute ride, we got so caught up chatting with friends that we didn't realize we'd reached the last stop and the crew had to ask if we were staying on for another round. The sun was out in full force, but with the breeze off the water, it felt perfectly relaxing. After heading back, we strolled through Harbor Village and ended the afternoon with a leisurely lunch at Parker's Lighthouse. What a perfect way to wrap up a sunny day on the water and highly recommend it.

The driver for the bus 172 Palo Verde to downtown at 5pm on January 30th tried to tell me the bus was 1.45. Which is a pretty stupid lie considering all the buses are 1.25. I'm not sure what the point of asking for 20 cents more like I genuinely don't know why he did that but it was stupid and pointless. Do better driver hopefully next time it's the usual driver for 172 since he knows the cost of fair.

Started off in Palm Springs Airport which leads you to the Fullerton station in downtown Fullerton. From there, the start of the Amtrak to LA. The station itself is decent. You have the ticket counter with a little seating area. Restroom are located there which you would need to show a ticket in order to use it. They don't want people just walking in and about. There's also a cafe right next door. While waiting for your train and grab a snack or something to drink. I had to do that later on the return. There's two side with the stations. You have the screen telling which track to go to depending on where to start and finish. There's a bridge that connects you to the other side for the other track. This connection to downtown was only about half an hour which it's the next stop. So that was nice. The station does get pretty busy with both locals and travelers. You'll see people with suitcases as well as locals going about their business. It's a cool concept and a new way to get around without having to drive and sit in traffic. Only downfall, if there's something wrong with the tracks or system, it could be a major wait. Give yourself extra time incase that happened which it did on the return. A lot of the trains were stuck as there was something wrong with the system. Otherwise, it's fairly decent.

Unfortunately, my recent trip, Fullerton to Burbank, was interrupted by an engine breakdown. I arrived at the Fullerton station 45 minutes before departure time. Train was on time until about 15 minutes before it was to arrive at Fullerton Station due to "traffic." Ten minutes later the announcer said, "engine breakdown. Estimated 1-2 hour delay," Amtrak was to drop me off at Hollywood Burbank Station at 3;38pm Southwest fight to depart @5:55pm. Same day. Amtrak ticket cost: $18 I had a plane to catch at Burbank Airport. If the train was 2 or more hours late I'd miss my flight. So I drove my car home & hired an Uber. Before Uber arrived I received an Amtrak email saying the train was only 37 minutes behind schedule and had resumed service. Uber cost: $107. Lesson Learned: Do Not rely on Amtrak for same day service to the airport. Either travel the day before or drive.
