The chicken tacos are sooo good! They are filling, flavorful, and moist. There are also several cabinets full of homemade Mexican fresh-baked pastries. I've tried a few, and while they're not personally my favorite, I do know that they're very popular. The service is very friendly, especially if you want help picking out any pastries. They'll explain to you what each one is and make recommendations. And even though this place is tiny, it seems to be perfect for the amount of in and out traffic they have. There are only 2 tables inside, we've always had a place to sit. Highly, highly recommend;

It was a great balance of spicy and sweet, juicy tender meat with crispy sesame bread. I actually completely forgot to take a picture before eating (smelled and looked so good I kinda just went for it w/o thinking lol) but it was really delicious! I did remember to snap a photo of the ooey gooey butter cake w/ strawberry and whipped cream! Oh my gosh, if I could, I would eat that for any special event in my life for the rest of my life! The strawberry does great at cutting some of the richness from the cake! Last but not least, the staff were super kind and friendly! Absolutely made the food truck experience pleasant and fun:)

Honestly, I probably just chose the wrong thing bc this was a bit too heavy for me. I wish there was something breaking up the monotony of textures (the chicken & pork were both pulled- I wonder if diced/fried chicken might work) and flavors (the sweetness of the BBQ sauce overpowered the buffalo sauce). Again, this is on me, but I hadn't realized the Buff-a-que doesn't come with a slaw, but this might have been a good addition. However, the bread was perfectly toasted & buttery, and I appreciated that they provide chips as a side. Can't comment on ambiance; service was fast and friendly. 6/10 would maybe recommend, I'd try another sandwich next time!

I wasn't sure if I believed the hype. On Saturday we saw the truck and his eyes got as big as saucers. He ordered three pork bulgogi tacos, I got two tacos, one pork bulgogi, one Caribbean jerk. We got queso and chips as well. After we found a place to sit, and Gary finally got to dig in, I asked, "Was it everything you remember and more?" He was grinning from ear to ear and nodded yes. For my experience with the Casual Foodie I have to say, the pork bulgogi lived up to the hype. The meat on those tacos is out of this world. And the sauce on it is a perfect compliment. They're topped with a fried egg so it is rich. The reason I'm doing four stars and not five is while the Caribbean jerk was good it wasn't on the level of the bulgogi. Queso was good. Friendly service. Saw they're in Lenexa this weekend and we'll probably make our way out there to get more tacos.

Chips and queso were pretty good. I like that they lightly seasoned the chips. I was expecting the pork and chicken to have a big punch of flavor but it was really lacking. I liked the flour tortilla shells that were used but it would have been better if they had warmed the tortillas first. They do provide a generous serving of meat, but I would have liked more toppings on the tacos. Service was ok. They were able to move through the orders fairly quickly. If anyone is a germaphobe, I wouldn't recommend eating here. I saw he used the same gloves to grab your order card, stick it up near the window, prepare the chips and grab the tortillas. It wasn't that big of a deal but just a heads up if something like that were to bother you.

- A Hidden Gem for True Taco Lovers -…read more (Maria makes tamales on Thursdays - must reach out directly for preorders) I had the absolute pleasure of stumbling upon El Taco Riendo and meeting the warmest, most welcoming family -- Jasmine, Maria, and their kind crew. From the moment I walked up to their bright and inviting food truck (parked conveniently in the Kohl's parking lot), I could tell this was going to be something special. Let's start with the food -- these are hands down some of the freshest tacos I've ever had. The tortillas? Nemo's fresh and made daily, soft yet perfectly sturdy to hold generous portions of meat and toppings. The meat? Juicy, seasoned to perfection, and cooked with the kind of care you can only get from people who truly love what they do. And the salsa -- oh, the salsa! Vibrant, layered in flavor, with just the right amount of heat. You can taste the passion and tradition in every bite. One thing that stood out to me was how clean and organized their truck was. As someone who eats at a lot of food trucks, I really notice when a place takes pride not only in their food but also in their space -- and El Taco Riendo sets the bar high. Everything from the prep area to the condiments station looked spotless, and that just adds to the confidence you feel ordering here. It's not just about the food though -- it's the experience. Jasmine and Maria greet you like old friends, remembering faces and making every customer feel valued. Their hospitality feels effortless, and that's rare in a world where so many places rush you through the process. If you want to support a small, local business that's serving up authentic flavors with heart, El Taco Riendo is it. You're not just getting tacos -- you're getting a little taste of their family's love and pride on a plate.

They were so helpful and helped so much with planning out the catering, I had waited two weeks before the wedding before picking catering and they were great with communication. My venue at The Barn at Killcreek Farm required liability insurance and their business license, Heather was great with communication and sent me things very quickly when asked. Most of our communication was through facebook and email. She made it very easy to pay, I was able to pay for it from the ease of my computer at home. She offered meeting in person but my schedule was very busy before the wedding. She let me know of the set up time and they were ready to serve even before the wedding started. They had a beautiful set up with black table covers and a lovely buffet serving style. Both her and her husband kept the food stocked and it was always hot and moist. Our meats included: Pulled Pork with Buns, Brisket and Chicken. Our sides: BBQ Beans, Green bean cassrole and Scalloped Potatoes. Heather was preparing plates for both bride and groom (I was the bride) just in case we had no chance to eat. She also offered to take care of the desserts that we had brought, including the option of icing our cookie cake if needed. She transported all our cookies from our containers to serving plates and did everything so sanitary, including wearing gloves. I appreciated every aspect that both Heather and Scott brought. Our guests loved the food and talked about it all through the night, I personally really loved the BBQ beans and the pulled pork. She brought containers for me to take home the leftovers and was very accommodating. My two young nephews were at the wedding and wanted to help the caterers, Heather and Scott were both very kind and patient with them. Heather and Scott both did the set up and clean up, it was completely stress free. I would highly recommend them for any wedding/event. Our event was 75 people.

Overall, I wish the sandwich had been a little bigger and the side of tots a little smaller, but overall it was a very good experience!

Order: Mixed plate for lunch (about 20 minutes). Comes with two charbroiled chicken pieces, half order of grilled steak, rice, tortillas, grilled peppers and onions, salsas, and a cup of charro beans. Chicken: Juicy, smoky, seasoned so well it could compete with tandoori chicken--rare to find that level of flavor. Steak: Tender, flavorful, nicely grilled. Charro beans: Soupy, shockingly good, and well seasoned. Rice: Basic, plain, no real seasoning. Warm tortillas are a nice plus. Peppers & onions: Good flavor, but could be cut thinner and grilled longer. Lime: Small but perfect touch to brighten the meat and beans--attention to detail you rarely see in a food truck. Wish list: Bigger salsa cups without the extra charge, julienned peppers and onions, grilled longer for more flavor and easier eating. The vibe: This is a hidden gem--when Hispanic families and construction crews are making the trip just for this truck, you know it's solid. Gas station itself isn't busy, but the food truck draws a steady lunch crowd. A couple of benches outside, some eat in their cars, lots of carryout. Bottom line: Flavorful meats, generous portions, and thoughtful touches make this a standout. Easily one of the best food truck finds in KC.
