I had an extremely concerning experience at this ARCO on Reseda Blvd in Tarzana on August 17, 2026, at approximately 9:23 PM. I went inside to pay cash for pump #3. Before handing the money to the cashier, I counted it out: two $10 bills and four $1 bills, totaling $24. I also said "$24 on pump 3" out loud when I handed her the money. There was a security guard sitting to my left who was present while I counted and handed over the cash. I went outside and pumped my gas, and the pump stopped at $14. I immediately ran back inside and told the cashier, "Ma'am, I gave you $24, and there was only $14 on the pump." Instead of checking what happened, she told me that I had only given her $14. I explained very clearly that I gave her two tens and four ones. She then told me that I must have thought I gave her two $10 bills, but that I had actually only given her one $10 bill and four $1 bills. That response really bothered me because I know exactly what I had in my wallet and exactly what I counted out. I did not appreciate being spoken to as though I was confused about my own money. I repeatedly asked for the surveillance cameras to be reviewed so there would be no argument about anyone's memory -- the footage should show what I handed over. The security guard was also right there when the transaction happened and appeared confused by the situation as well. The cashier eventually told me to come back at 9:00 AM. I have also contacted ARCO Customer Relations and formally requested that the surveillance footage from approximately 9:20-9:30 PM be preserved and reviewed, along with the register transaction for pump #3. This is about more than the $10 difference for me. It is about the principle of handing over money, receiving $10 less in gas, immediately bringing it to the employee's attention, and then being told that I must have been mistaken instead of having the situation properly verified. I want management to review the cameras and determine exactly what happened. I will update this review after management responds and the footage/register transaction has been reviewed. read more

Beware the Dunkin donut stand at this Arco station is a ripoff. The guy overcharges especially if he knows you're paying cash

I cant believe Im reviewing a gas station, but they are OFF THE CHARTS rude to customers at this store. I was using my debit card last night and the clerk started pushing the buttons on the card reader as I was trying to read the prompts. I told him I can push the buttons myself. Then out of the blue he started saying f**k you to me and the other guy behind the counter started screaming to get the f**k out. I left and went back today to speak to a manager about that. Spoke to a nice clerk and he points out the manager. Of course it was the guy from last night. He started cursing me out again with f bombs and middle fingers now saying he is the OWNER I gave him a piece of my mind, and left. Took pictures to send to corporate. Then the owner guy comes out of the store still screaming f bombs videoing me on his phone saying I was stealing something. He got right in my face screaming f bombs with spittle flying in my face. He was less than an arms length from me. This guy was OVER THE TOP HOSTILE! Hes going to hurt someone or get himself hurt it seems pretty clear. As i was leaving, a guy approached me who was in there a few minutes earlier than me and said the guy cursed him out too when he pointed out he was overcharged. I will never go back. read more

This employee was completely rude and disrespectful, repeatedly yelling at customers. I don't typically visit AMPM locations and was unaware of a service charge fee for using a debit card. When I was prompted to verify that I didn't want cash back, I mistakenly thought it was confirming my choice, but it was actually asking me to accept the service fee. The employee kept yelling at me to press accept instead of no. After the second instance of him yelling, I lost my patience and yelled back. If AMPM continues to employ people like this, they might as well go out of business to avoid further issues. The Yelp reviews for this location are alarming, suggesting that this behavior is common among their staff. I plan to contact the corporate office to ensure this employee is held accountable for his actions. Both he and other problematic employees at this location should be terminated immediately, and the company needs to reconsider their hiring practices. read more

This is not my first choice for gas stations. The pay system is not user friendly. The gas station is also dirty and old. There are snacks that you can stop and get here if you get hungry. It is conveniently located on the main street of Reseda Blvd. The prices are quite low. There is a lot of foot traffic due to the orange line across the street. The gas is okay but it seems to get used up pretty fast. I stopped going here after someone kept repeatedly tapping my car with theirs and would not stop until I drove away. read more

Worst experiences ever. I've been overcharged. My girlfriend wanted a drink so we stop. Why was a $100 gift card charged along with her drink. They reversed the charges letting me know this is no a once in a while transaction error the clerk was rude and cussed us out before we left. read more

Don't really understand those gas station that only accept debit cards. I just hate when I stop and ready to fuel just to find I need a debit card. Like credit cards are not good anymore. And the pump is barely working. Too many attempts to make things work. I think they need to do something about it. The store inside is ok. Pretty big and have a lots of merchandise. It's a gas station. The minimum is to make your gas pumps work. read more

Beware this retailer uses false misleading advertised prices! When I inquired about it the cashier knew what they were doing and tried to embarrass me in front of other customers to try and diffuse the situation. Very unprofessional way to do Buisness from such a big nationwide retailer. Oddly enough I own a fleet of commercial vehicles that utilize Arco for gas and I a very disappointed with this locations disregard to proper retail operations! read more

This station, as busy as it is, is home to the biggest fraudulent transactions in the city. Our fleet card numbers are constantly being stolen at this station and i truly believe the management is in on it. A guy sits in his car collecting credit card info from the pumps and management doesn't care. The police won't come either, go figure. Also, if you attempt to contact arco it's not the gasoline company your dealing with but a 3rd party credit card company that doesn't give a crap about all the fraud. This was the last straw. They did not remove the $3000 in fraudulent charges (who buys $800 worth of gas per vehicle?) Screw Arco we are finished with you. BTW, your gas burns too fast. read more

Need gas, light was on. I saw gas was expensive but figured it was convenient close to the freeway. While here I decided to get a drink. But everything is out of temp in this place food at 55 "cold drinks" at 45. So instead had an idea to get a cup of ice, but the ice machine broken lame went across the street to the liquor store instead. read more

Stay far away from this gas station, especially after dark. Even during daylight hours, the place is never without panhandling homeless who, despite usually being so full of narcotics that they barely know what planet they're on, have no compunction about approaching people using the gas pumps asking for spare dollars and coins. Go to the gas stations up on the corner of Reseda and Burbank Blvd. They're not much better, but they are better in terms of people not trying to get money out of you and the prices for gas are about the same. As for the convenience store, I only went in there one time. The homeless are in there too, or waiting for you right outside the door hoping to get the dime or quarter or pennies from your cash purchase. I mean, I have sympathy for these people but instead of giving them money, give them your other sandwich if you have two. read more

Okay this gas station is cheap in terms of gas. Everything else about this place is terrible. There is always a line inside and I have on more than one occasion watched the short fat woman that works there not help with customers when the line was clear across the store, instead she kept taking the trash out. Also this station is ghetto. I have never seen so many ghetto people in one place before. Go for gas but only go when it's daylight at night the ghetto gets worse! read more

I hate Arco -- plain and simple. Unfortunately I was out of gas and this was the closest station with prices below $3.45/g I've been here before where the machines weren't accepting my card, like none of them. Ridiculous. I don't cate about using a debit card but to only be able to use debit is not always convenient. On top of this, they charge a $0.35 fee to USE THE CARD. Not coming back to any Arco. Yuck read more

I work near the AMPM and always go there for snacks or coffee and have been overcharged multiple times, a coworker of mine has warned me about that constantly occurring at this location and I found out for myself. The employee working the register will act as if scans all your items but will miss a few and manually charge it. I buy the same thing every time and have noticed on different occasions the difference in price. When i confronted the employee and demanded to speak with the manager they just told me the prices for my items have gone up and offered no other explanation. Fuck this place they scam and even if its for a few bucks. Know the prices of what you buy and demand a receipt to avoid any fraudulent activity from this location. There has been reviews from years ago who have had similar experiences yet nothing has been done. My personal opinion is this place should be investigated and closed down. read more

I love coming here for the cheap-cheep gas! I never thought I would review a Gas Station, but had the worst experience of my 30 years of pumping gas. Pumps are old and malfunction. I paid with debit card was charged the .35 cents and pulled out the pump, it shot has out without pressing handle and then shut off. I tried again and did it again. I went inside to get a refund and pay in the store and the lady, who speaks barely any a English will not refund me, and charges me the fee again. I tell her the pump malfunctioned twice and charged me, and she mumbles something you can't understand. I try to explain and she keeps spewing her horrible English and I tell her to not charge me the fee as I was paying for gas again. To sum it up, the lady was rude, doesn't speak English, the pumps are old and malfunctioned and this gas station wants you to pay for there poorly maintained pumps. Avoid this place read more

The ladies at the counter were nice and helpful. However, the owner/manager a middle eastern woman was not so nice, poor demeanor.

Wow this place is filthy. I feel very very very sorry for the people who work here. God bless them and I hope they don't get covid. Homeless at the entry way to get in. Very sad. Homeless with no mask and they are coughing, yeah, right there when you walk in the door. The squeegies (spelling?) to wipe off your car windows are all ruined and do not clean the windows. I tried like 5 of them, nope. One had the plastic part completely off, so I threw it out. Sorry but a hard piece of plastic could prob. damage a window. I'll spend an extra 5 cents a gallon to NEVER go here again. Very sad since it's a populated neighborhood and the locals can't have a decent gas station. read more

OK so this is NOT the cheapest in the Valley (though prob is for that specific area) It's large and normally always get "a spot" immediately.... 5 stars because it has the squeegie-thing... Staff is kind of tired of working there apparently. They're not the nicest or most helpful. But hey, who needs a smile when you're pumping cheap gas... you'll have you're own smile on. Always have cheap gas here! so I gotta love the place. The employees are who they are, nice on days you are lucky to find them in a good mood. Over all though the location is ALWAYS packed in the mornings (weekdays) so be ready to fight for your place in line. If you are nothing like me (someone who will fight for your rights and or what you feel is right) then avoid this station in the mornings cause it does get crazy and there has been certain altercations and situations that have gotten out of hand so thats about it. Its not dangerous but it can get hectic specially for those drivers who know damn well they need tons of space (like the entire gas station) in order to pull in or out. Cheap gas though! This is right around the corner from my house. Not always the cheapest, but convenient. I stopped in today since it was 2.33 and I didn't feel like driving further. Its usually very busy here. I've been coming here for years now. This place is always packed it's like the people inside are not doing their job right I mean they're nice people inside everything but it needs to be sped up a little bit I know the gas prices are great so that might be one of the reasons that we're packed but they do need to do her job a little better up here at this gas station. The reason I give it two stars is because the customer service The overcrowded yes because the sales representatives are speeding up the line they're lagging off on their job And sometimes they can have an attitude but other times they can be nice people. But otherwise I will continue to come here occasionally because the gas prices are great read more

On my way to my dentist and needed gas. Stopped by this place and after swiping outside was directed to go inside and see the cashier (annoying!). I said to the cashier "$20 please". My dad always goes here for gas because it's the cheapest in our area. The prices are ok, but it can get really frustrated when there's a gas station 'rush'. I come to this gas station pretty often, usually for the snacks and drinks. There are usually crackheads and crazy people talking to themselves or sleeping right outside the AMPM and it reaks of body odor and urine. They have variety of snacks and drinks, but they do not have a public restroom and do not accept credit card. Cash or debit only. There is an extra charge if you want to use debit card and 3 out of 10 times i have been here their debit card system is down so they only accept cash, which is already pretty inconvenient for a gas station that does not accept credit card. Also, when you come here late at night, they usually have a sign up that says they will be open again at 2:30 am, which I understand because they need to count the drawer and what not, but is almost always never the case. They would reopen around 3, even though you are just waiting for them outside to open again. And for the workers, they seem like they really do not care about how the customers feel at all. I wouldn't expect a quality customer service at a gas station, but these workers are just absurd. Most of them take forever to complete simple transactions. One of the workers, which I do not remember his name, but he was a middle eastern bald man, accused me of opening an ice cream wrapper, when I asked to switch the ice cream to a different one because the wrapper was already slightly open. I walked out and noticed that there was a tear on the wrapper, so I went back inside and asked if I may change it to a different one, and he gave me the dirtiest look and said "maybe youre the one that opened it" Like i dont even know why anyone would just open the wrapper just so he can go through the trouble of switching the ice cream. It's not like I was going to keep that ice cream and take a new one either. I was simply asking him if I can switch. Anyways this place is very inconvenient, the workers here are rude, and there are always shady people asking for change or food. read more

Got off the freeway looking for a restroom. We saw this Arco and stopped. The two attendants said there was no restroom available. This is ridiculous! Maybe it was filthy like their store! I got here for snacks mostly and have been going here for years... close to 10. Within the last year it seems like they might have changed ownership because they fired pretty much most of the regular crew I'd seen for years and hired on a bunch of very unfriendly people. They charge 35 cents to use your atm, don't accept credit cards and will charge you 20 cents for a bag The gas is cheaper usually but keep in mind they charge an extra .35 cents to use your atm so it might not work out to be cheaper if you don't fill your tank. read more

Hmmmm, some of the day shift and evening shift are cool and friendly. However there's one or two older guys who work there who really just aren't thankful to have a job. I Bought a bunch of stuff there tonight at about 1 AM, and it was obviously more then one wants to carry without a bag. However when I asked the clerk nicely for a bag he looked at me with an attitude, like it was beneath him to do this for me this or something. I think he works days too early morning, and he just always has a crappy attitude. I was here one other time before as I work nearby. I remember at the time thinking it was extremely inconvenient because you couldn't pay at the pump. It's been a couple of years so I thought I would try it again out of convenience. I pulled up inserted my card and then read the sign to say please pay inside. I paid inside, and was charged $.35 extra for the transaction. There are never enough squeegees to clean your windshield.
