Dr. Connell is the first and only doctor I have ever been to that actually listens. Further, she considers your entire mind, body and environment in developing treatment. She made several suggestions and immediately told me her plan would not entail me being on all of the supplements and such forever, but to reduce to exactly what is needed as we proceeded through treatments. This is a fact. From the first set of supplements to now - the supplements have been reduced to half. From the first session I have experienced great changes to my pre-menopausal symptoms (hot flashes gone). From the next session my acne, weight gain, nail strength, and sleep have all improved (all the things I wanted to address). No joke I am almost cured - hahaha not possible but she is getting me close to how I felt before all my issues really kicked in. I am beyond excited and am so grateful and thankful. Candee and her small but mighty staff are the most responsive, caring and conscientious people out there. Never have I been left hanging (ahem Banner, who took a year to get my well woman billing correctly submitted for payment to my carrier and billed me $800 in the interim) and when I call Candee or message the portal I get a same day response. Candee has helped me lose weight, fix my A1-c and cholesterol, and has gotten my preventive work all done in record time. I now have a CPAP machine and sleep well for the first time in years. She claimed my baseline testosterone was low and immediately began aggressively increasing my dosage. Over the last two years, my testosterone levels shot up to a staggering 254-387--levels far too high for a female. Predictably (to someone educated in hormones- which wasn't me), I developed overwhelming exhaustion. When a woman's body is flooded with too much testosterone, the excess converts directly into estrogen. According to medical resources like the Cleveland Clinic, an overloaded estrogen system causes severe fatigue and low libido--completely defeating my original reason for seeking care. Things got so bad that my gynecologist expressed serious concerns and told me to demand a dose decrease. To the DW provider's credit, she did check my iron on and correctly put me on an iron supplement, which brought my levels up. But when the iron didn't cure the exhaustion, she resorted to guesswork--adding thyroid medication, B12 shots, DIM, and a cortisol manager rather than acknowledging the testosterone overload. This past week, I reached my breaking point and asked to transfer my care to another provider in the clinic. Instead, I was directed to the office manager, who doubled down on their unsafe stance and insisted testosterone couldn't be the issue. Realizing that this clinic values protecting their protocols over patient health, I canceled all remaining appointments and care.
