The shelter is having a Children's month during March and offer a "How to Care for Pets" activity workbook for families with children. They have also talked to local kindergarten children on how to care for pets. There are over 260 cats, dogs, puppies and kittens that are available for adoption. I can't remember how much they charge you to accept strays. I took a family of kittens that were a result of careless neighbors. The fee may have been $15.00 per animal.

I emailed the contact information & corresponded with a woman by the name of Polly. She was very nice & you could tell that she wanted what was best for Snow Belle. I completed the adoption application & we scheduled a time for them to being over Snow Belle & for us all to meet. She brought over Snow Belle (now named Saffy) & checked out our place to make sure it was safe for a cat. She met with our current cat & deemed that it was a safe environment for Saffy & we paid the adoption fee & they left. It was on the contingent that if things didn't work out we could return Saffy. Saffy took some time to warm up to us but she's now apart of the family. I can't get over how nice Polly & the other woman was that came over to our home. Even after the adoption Polly asked how Saffy was & I'd send pictures & updates. You can really tell that they care about the animals.

We had a puppy that was literally dropped off by someone we don't know who but it was sick and wouldn't eat so we called this place asking what we should do and they gave us some advice but then acted like we don't take care of our animals and if the woman had of listened correctly she would have heard the fact that it was NOT our puppy and it had just walked up that morning and we called this place as soon as they opened only to get someone who wouldn't help us and the advice she gave wasn't very helpful and definitely was disrespectful. We simply didn't know what to do with this stray puppy that had came from no telling where and it had literally just came up the morning we called this place but instead the woman wanted to say they can't contaminate the other animals and that we needed to take care of our own animals! We have ALWAYS taken care of every animal we have ever had and they have always been taken to the vet and been loved and played with and treated like one of our own family members! We didn't know this puppy and didn't know what to do and I thought it was very rude of her to say we should take care of our own animals and there was nothing she could or would do!! I thought that was what this place was there for to help animals and or help find them shelter if need be. Neither of which was offered to us!
