    Pistachio/hazelnut and chocolate/stachiatella ice creams!!
    Marta T.

OMG!!! I'm not a huge fan of ice cream (or gelato), but this pistachio and hazelnut ice cream even after sic years is my FAVORITE!!! And staff are making so beautiful flowers from gelato!

We have Amorino here in NYC and we go fairly often - their flower petal gelato is both pretty to look and good to eat! Since it's on the same block as our lunch spot, we decided to try it out. Was Amorino in Europe different than Amorino in NYC? The answer: Yes! They take a lot more care and precision in crafting the petals of the gelato flower. The guy behind the counter would painstakingly put each petal in and would just discard a petal he scooped up if it wasn't perfectly shaped. The end result is a gorgeous, perfect flower - made from as many flavors as you want! I ended up with a mango core and coconut + vanilla cherry petals. He even put a cherry on top of the mango center! Prices are about the same as Amorino in NYC so it's definitely more expensive than your standard gelato spot in Europe.

If you're into ice cream this places is a must. Pure heaven. Mostly takeaway. They do have several small tables but space is very limited.

Probably the best dinner in Nice so far. It was recommended by our concierge at our hotel. It was…read moreover a 10 minute walk from our hotel in the cold weather and it was completely worth it. Walked in and there were many locals eating there. The menu is on a hand-written chalk board and daily specials written on chalk board cards. After drooling over the menu, we selected to start with the truffles risotto, then baked cod and duck. Since we were sharing the risotto, the chef decided to plate our portions separately. It was a huge portion and topped with lots of truffles. The cod cold use some salt, but it was cooked perfectly. It was moist on the inside. The duck was a perfect medium and the outside was completely crusted and crispy. The reduction sauce was amazing. Wish I have more room, so I can use the bread to sop up the sauce. It was that amazing. Because it was on a side street, the prices was definitely more reasonable. Just wish I knew about this place earlier in our trip.
