They take the time to look at you, what you're doing, and help you learn, adjust, and get to know your body more. I'm an unlimited member, but the $25 per class (or whatever it is), is the best way to spend $25 in San Francisco. Not exaggerating. Jess is such an experienced coach. She moves like water. She watches your body, and understands how it works. She makes hands on adjustments. Being in class with her - I truly feel like I'm with a professional-grade artist. Power Barre is a must, for any dancer, any fan of Pilates, or anyone who just wants a lean, toned dancer bod. And Pop Jam is so much fun. I've also taken Jazz Funk with Tashi, which is the BEST way to start a Monday. It's beginner friendly, but you learn technique. She's fun, lively, hilarious. Every single person is beaming when they leave her class. Drenched with Anna is also a pleasure. She's a delight to watch. A true athlete in her flow. It's a real workout! Belly Dance with Andrea was a surprise to me. I had no idea what Belly Dance was until I took this class. As it turns out, Belly Dance is like a mix of Pilates and Booty shaking. I didn't think I could move so precisely, but Andrea is such a good teacher, and so good at explaining the moves - I believe she can teach anyone how to Belly Dance. She has a thorough understanding of the history, the culture, and the artistry. Hip Hop with Mahi - the most energetic ball of fun there is. She's effortless. Drenched with Diamond - another great workout, and a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning. I love to take my girlfriends and get brunch in Union Square afterwards. Also, the Rae Studios Showcase was SO much fun. You get training in how to perform as a group. The adrenaline is intoxicating. There are people who do four per season, is how fun it is. How many opportunities in life are there to perform? Rae Studios makes this accessible to everyone. The world is tough right now. We could all use a little more dance and light in our lives. Check out Rae!

Love Rae studios, long overdue review:…read more Convenient location near Union Square, a short walk from Powell station. You will need to ring the studios for them to buzz you into the building and take the elevator up to the 7th floor. Beware, the elevator can take a hot minute, so get there early! There is usually a receptionist that can help check you in, but you can also self check-in via their tablet in the bigger room. That room also has a dressing room for those that need to change clothing. There is a key for the bathroom. There is a waiting room and cubbies to place your stuff and high end water fountains. I'm glad that Rae studios has partnered with Wellhub/Gympass, This week I took a regular kpop class with Oche for the first time. I have done the performance workshop series with Fran last fall. Both Oche and Fran are great teachers, super energetic, thorough warmups and always checking in if we have questions on the choreography. Also both are super stylish!! Typically, you can see what song is being taught on Rae Studio's Instagram the day before the class. I've also taken several of the free kpop classes at Civic Center with Fran. For the free class, it is on the other side of the outdoor gym. It can get loud during events nearby, but Fran does her best to be loud and clear. As for the performance workshop, it was fun but the day of the performance was quite chaotic. The lights were different than how it was during the rehearsal runs and it was super disappointing when the music cut out. On the bright side, I felt like our group got to know each other well and even held a potluck together! I probably won't do another performance workshop series anytime soon, but will definitely keep coming to the regular and free classes.

That's when I met Andrew, the instructor who would guide me through this unexpected journey. From our very first lesson, his patience, skill, and encouragement helped me begin building something I didn't know I was capable of: confidence. As the weeks turned into months and the months into years, I've not only learned to dance -- I've learned to express myself, to push past fear, and to embrace joy. But Arthur Murray has become so much more than a dance studio to me. It's a sanctuary. A place where laughter echoes louder than doubt. A space where I've formed real, meaningful friendships and become part of a community that celebrates every step, no matter how small. Yes, the cost of lessons may seem steep. But what I've gained -- the confidence to move through life with rhythm and self-assurance, the friendships built on shared vulnerability, and the joy of dancing away life's heavier moments -- is truly priceless. This studio has not only taught me how to dance; it has helped me rediscover who I am.

Again, we had so much fun that, after we got engaged, we decided to up our package to the 10-class so that we could have the team help us choreograph and teach us our first dance. I gave them the song, a HUGE list of video inspiration, and Katia & Kat clearly watched all of it to make sure they captured what I wanted that could be learn in the 4 or so weeks we had to learn everything! In creating the choreo, they were fully prepared with a vision, worked in all my feedback, created something we really loved, and were wonderful teachers! It was a routine with many moves I'm sure we'll be having fun with for the rest of our lives! While we didn't have a chance to take advantage of it that much, the group dance classes that come with being a student also looked so fun and I wish we had had more time to go.

They are the best of the best! When I first started with DJ I was slightly worried because I had had chronic knee problems and I didn't know if I would be able to achieve my fitness goals or if that would further injure my knee. He is extremely knowledgeable and tailored my regimen to help me achieve my fitness goals without ever provoking my knee. If anything, he has made improvements to it because he is able to apply physical therapy practices to improving it along the way, and he taught me what adjacent stressors were causing pain in the knee. I have been working out with him for a year and a half now and I am in the best shape of my life. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

They are all a little different, but all check their EGOs at the door, and just want you to succeed. That being said if you want to be pampered go to the nursery. Your paying them to balance you, and push you, not break you. They know the body and how not to hurt you. So many idiot trainers will either push you to the point of breaking and hurting Or don't know body mechanics and hurt you. They also have some sweet amenities. 1. Big screen TV 2. Great screen savers 3. You can pop in for a quick cardio session if their not too busy 3. Don't Use trendy bullshit. Most of the work is you using your own body. They do have great equipment but is very select and designed around you using your body to work the machine, or bench or use the moon shaped leather bags from Romania?? NOT the other way around. 4. Jack Lalaine is rumored to haunt the studio 5. Great PC screen savers. 6. They smile and drink Cofee as they work your ass off. That's so sweet. 7. You get what you pay for.
