There is quite a lot of seating because there is some downstairs and a lot upstairs. The tables are usually quite clean although there isn't usually any staff upstairs. The staff are average fast food restaurant staff, teenagers and also typically eager to do their job well. The straws and other things are downstairs and it can be annoying if you go upstairs and decided you forgot some serviettes, straws etc The upstairs is always hot for some reason, which is uncomfortable in summer. The seats aren't really that comfy but are ok i guess. The food is always nice and cooked well though.

Last time I visited it took longer than that so the staff happily gave us free lunch vouchers for next time. I recently went to use those and the staff was very nice and friendly when we brought them up to the counter. We got the breaded chicken burger as that is halal. Sides included skinny chips, thick chips, simple salad, and coleslaw. Definitely would come back!

Anyone in hospitality will tell you that when you take a drinks order, you serve the drinks. You…read moredon't wait for food to be ready, you don't wait for August. You just serve the drinks. Ten minutes later, comes the beer. That needs a fixin. Now, a burger is a kind of sandwich. A sandwich is something you can pick up with one hand and eat while reading a map. I got a cramp in my face trying to get my mouth around this thing. I had to eat this thing with a knife and fork. The bun was superfluous. It was tasty otherwise, though the 'onion rings' in the burger came apart long before they were cooked, leaving streaks of batter within the burger. They're perhaps best left as a side. The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Otherwise, some quality-control is needed.

Service was excellent and my Spicy Chicken sandwich was excellent - much better than the typical ones in the US. Mrs G enjoyed her Dave's double burger (none of that American "cheese" though! I will be back for breakfast soon :). In fact I went back for breakfast today and what a deal - your choice of breakfast sandwich and your choice of coffee for the bargain price of £3.99! I went inside today and so now can opine on the ambience - very nice, super clean and friendly staff. I chatted with the shift manager - super nice and super friendly. I learned from him that currently there are indeed only 4-5 Wendy's in England!! But more are coming - Good!! This one has been open for 10 months and yet it feels spic spanking new!!

A smart city centre location restaurant serving good Italian inspired food in smart and modern…read moresurroundings. I dined there today with a party of six and was initially impressed by the prompt attention paid by the front of house staff and the greeting they gave. The table was placed in the window and although it was a round table it seemed fairly obvious to me that it would be a bit of a struggle for room once we filled it up with drinks and dishes - and so it proved. I would have thought this was fairly obvious to staff as more items were brought across to us, but they never took the opportunity to remove the items surplus to requirements on there, meaning we were left to shuffle glasses and plates around. This small issue aside I am very positive about the overall experience I enjoyed. The choice of food was good and as they opened up many dishes to be taken as either a 'starter' or 'main' portion it meant there was a wide choice of dishes to try. Starters were in the region of £5 and mains were generally around the £10 mark, slightly more if you went for the steak or fish dishes. The furnishings were smart and it was pleasing atmosphere to sit in and enjoy a good well cooked meal with friends and family.

Il Castello is a very good restaurant in a town with an abundance of Good Restaurants,…read moreI have eaten here with my wife on more than one occasion, in our opinion this restaurant is Special enough to use for special occasions, but not so exclusive that you can't use it for a casual night out. It has some pretty weighty neighbours, Cafe Bleu, and the newly opened Moorings in its midst, but It easily holds it's own. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed, the Italian country theme is carried well throughout the dining room and reception area, where the impressive wine rack is on display. Service is Brilliant some of the best in Newark, The food is Brilliant, plenty of time to enjoy it, you aren't rushed, and as an endorsement we have seen real Italian customers on vacation in the UK using the restaurant. The Location and current re-development of what was a handy car park makes it very difficult to park near the restaurant, and it doesn't stand out from the road which is a shame, but also makes it feel slightly more exclusive. Well worth a visit.
