The calzones were unpleasantly spiced, a bit like a supermarket vindaloo. The waiter was clearly agitated and out of his depth. A free bottle of prosecco as an apology wasn't very useful as most of us were driving! It's a lovely building and the ambience is pleasant but the service and food are iffy. I will not visit again - it's the second time I've been there left feeling bemused at the price/quality ratio. Better of making cheese on toast at home.

We dined with friends once and waited 45min for a drink and 1 1/2 hours for food. When the food came, it was quickly removed from one friend without apology or explanation!!! We were eventually told it was meant for some other patron. The manager came to apologise, although what we did receive was more of a rant from him as he was called from home (which we suspected was just upstairs). We went to Tiamo for my 20th Birthday and had a party of around 6/7, Tiamo managed to get us in at a time where to our surprise the restaurant was empty (had my mother booked out the whole venue?) well no, we had in fact booked a time before their busy period which started as we left at the end of the evening. We had starters which included the homemade Garlic Bread which I will, without a doubt, recommend you try and also I had Calamari aka Squid which was cooked to perfection. For the main course, I enjoyed my usual pasta based dish of Lasagna in which I could not compare it to the Italian Connection as they were both tip top in every way. The food was hot upon arrival and even the chips had their own Italian twist. Drinks wise we all had water and for me, it was beer and also the house wine which went down very well with the food. The service was spot on and our waiter attended to our every need. I can not rate Tiamo high enough, we had a very enjoyable evening and we all left feeling very full indeed. Every time I go I struggle to pick a dish as every one sounds (and is) so tasty! The views from the balcony are great of the lake and there's more than adequate parking. You'll definitely need to get a taxi back as the wine menu is something to enjoy. While it may seem expensive to some of us it is totally worth it and is perfect for a romantic meal or special occasion, or any occasion at that! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

The restaurant copes very well given how busy it gets, and how big it is (seating over two floors), and has a good selection of Italian food (pizza, pasta, risotto, chicken and fish dishes). The food itself receives good reviews from friends we have dined with, and while I agree, I have yet to have anything mind blowing. Big tip: in order to avoid being treated rudely upon arriving, make sure you book in advance. Note for parents: no high chairs available, if you're likely to need one. Also it gets pretty loud, which is good if you're dining with a noisy toddler.
