Amigos Mex Grill is a one of my favorite places for great Mexican food. They are located in a Publix/Hobby Lobby shopping center in Johns Creek. While the larger shopping stores may be what is primarily seen from the immediate street view, don't let this shop fool you into thinking they won't live up to expectations. They offer amazing plates and even better deals. The amount of food provided for money paid is well worth it. My husband and I have been here plenty of times for date night. I love a good burrito and that is always my go-to here. I order their steak burrito covered in cheese dip and green sauce. Each time I order it, there is so much meat and not one flavor overpowers the other. I'm a sucker for spice and always will order their Jalapeño Toreado. You get so many onions and jalapeños for the price paid for this side that it can easily be shared with 3-4 people. read more

First time checking out this Mex spot tonite for dinner. We ordered small queso dip w jalepenos on the side and a large guacamole to start. Both of the items were good sized proportionate wise and tasted good as well. We got the cheese and chicken quesadillas and fajita chicken quesadillas. It took a bit long for the food to arrive that was the other missing "star" bc we had to wait for a long time. The waiter apologized and said it was backed up in the kitchen. The two musicians playing guitar singing w/ harmonica were a nice and relaxing touch. I tipped them $10 on our way out. I would go again just hope the food came out faster. read more

We ordered to go on a Saturday evening, steak burritos and chicken enchiladas. They were ready when we arrived to pick up. It was warm and tasted very good. So we opted to go back the next day for lunch, it was packed but they were able to a sit us within a reasonable amount of time. This is not the place you go to for a quiet romantic meal, the ambiance is more of a family or sports team celebration. It's loud, packed and did I say loud. But that's what you can expect when the place is Packed to capacity. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, and to our surprise the waitress brought an order out within in less than 2 mins. We asked if they were fresh and she said yes. They were warm and tasted good...so we didn't question it. We waited another 20 mins to received our entrees, which consisted of two steak burritos and a chicken mole dishes. The food is was good, plenty and had good flavors. I couldn't finish my burrito, I took the remained for lunch the following day. Unfortunately, as I was eating my leftover steak burrito, I had to pull a foot long hair strand out of my mouth. That was the end of Amigos for our family which is too bad because everything else was very good. read more

Tried this place on a Friday night. Didn't check reviews since we came in a large group (over 15 people), and they were able to accommodate us quickly, which was a big plus. We had a pleasant experience here, the margaritas were flowing and everyone loved them, so my guess is that they were good. I ordered the Steak Burrito and it was really really good. Will need to get back here and order more food to have a better idea. But overall, good experience. Things to note, this location is right next to the Publix. Parking is huge, so no issues there. read more

Neighbors suggested this place to us, so we gave it a try. The servers were pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and not your typical Tex-mex. We started with the guacamole dip, it was excellent. I had the tamales, one pork one chicken. My wife the enchiladas supreme. Portion size was good, the food superb, this is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. I did note on the check that there is a small fee for using a credit card instead of paying with cash. read more

Great food. Service is prompt from greeting to seating to table service throughout the meal. Employees all work as a great team. Someone is always checking on you with drink, chips and salsa refills. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Very casual with couples, families and groups of all sizes. Lively and loud in a good way. We were in a hurry, but still wanting good food fast, not fast food. Amigos Mex Grill was great and now I wish would have had he opportunity to stay longer. We had the ground beef burrito and chicken enchiladas for entrees and found all the ingredients were fresh. Speaking of fresh we ordered the avocado for a side and it was obvious the order was made from scratch. Salsa was tasty with the chips plentiful and tasty, as well. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. I know they have been there a while (more than a year or so), but so many places have failed in that space we never stopped in feeling like it would not be around for very long like all the others. Decent Mexican fare. Service is good,a bit on the pricey side. Not sure what the issue was last week, but after I had eaten and got home I had experienced discomfort on my tongue and lips. I know I have issues with some metals. I'm thinking that the taco I was served came on a metal holder, perhaps it was not stainless? In spite of my best intentions I don't usually get around to leaving reviews unless a restaurant is particularly memorable. We ordered out from Amigos Mex Grill for the first time tonight, hoping for a good Mexican restaurant not too far from home. There have been plenty close by but few we've wanted to go back to. Tonight, not only was the food really good, it was good to-go, which is not easy to find. All of the ingredients were fresh, the meats and veggies well-seasoned, and the dishes heartily portioned. We got the Amigos Special Fajitas, Southwest Salad with grilled chicken, Georgia quesadilla, guacamole, and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. The Fajita meats/shrimp were all cooked just right and seasoned well and the grilled chicken was juicy and flavorful even after being packed and sitting for the drive home. The quesadilla was the most gourmet quesadilla we've had before, with perfectly cooked fresh veggies and chicken. The cup of soup came with generous toppings that made it more a bowl than a cup. I order chicken tortilla soup at every Mexican restaurant we try and this was one of the best I've had. And the guacamole and salsa were so fresh and good! To top things off, although it was carry-out, my husband was impressed with the service and attentiveness he got just while waiting for our order, in spite of them being busy. Went there for the first time tonight. I think we have found a new favorite restaurant for Mexican food in Peachtree Corners / John's Creek. Family run. Waitstaff were all super nice and helpful. For a strip mall type restaurant this is overrated place for food and especially for drinks. The non-existent ambience and an average bar they are charging margaritas for which you can buy half of Tequila bottle from liquor store. That is exorbitant. The food quality is A-average. We ordered kids quesadilla with side of beans. For being vegetarian we expected (and confirmed before order) to have all the food that is plant based and no meat in any of them. The side order of beans had meat piece in it. Not sure it was just a contamination that got overlooked or they used meat stock but that mistake is unforgivable. The other dish we had was Chile Relleno. The chile they used was not cooked fully and cheese stuffing was chewy. The extra hot habanero salsa was delicious but eat it in moderation otherwise that will upset your stomach for hours if not days. We would not go here anymore. The 2 stars are for the friendly and attentive service we received. read more
