    Sun room

My wife and I love coming here. Our dogs do, too! We've stayed here the past two Thanksgiving weekends and will probably continue the tradition next year. Salida's a great little town with plenty to do during the summer and winter months. We've only been during the colder months, but Amigo is a cozy place to shack up. The rooms are appropriately-sized, the beds are comfortable and the wifi is solid. There's a hot tub on site, they offer free coffee in the lobby, as well as reusable bottles of water in the communal refrigerator. They're pup friendly and the sun room is the perfect place to hang out by the fire! Staff are generally friendly and responsive. They have a nice texting feature when you need to check in/check out or request room service. Sometimes they can be a little hard to track down, but it's safe to assume they might be short staffed. Practice patience people! We'd love to stay in the airstreams, but we think it might get a little tight with our dogs. The rooms are comfortable with a sizeable table and chairs to read a book or get work done. Amigo acknowledges how old their plumbing is, so showers sometimes take a while to heat up. Just know before you go. Right off the main drag of State Rd 50, it's only a three minute drive to Salida's little Main St. area along the Arkansas River. Recommend for your next mountain getaway!

I was looking for a unique stay on my way back from Santa Fe to Denver, and have always loved Salida and its charm. I came across this renovated motel that also offered Airstreams as an option for respite. I was excited to visit the motor lodge, and had heard great things from friends who had stayed here in the past. I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly well-kept and clean the place was, and how inviting the staff was. I stayed in the Pee Wee Airstream, and it was clean, spacious for one person, and so comfortable. I felt completely safe and cozy, and despite their being a shared bathroom for all of the Airstreams, it was never inconvenient during my stay. I didn't have my dog for this trip, but am hoping to make another trip down there with her and would love to stay here again!

Hello cutie! This very vibe-heavy establishment is a real gem in an area of mostly run down hotels. Great things: Hella cute -have you SEEN the gram?- Doggo friendly -truly (wo)man's best friend- Great location - about a ten minute drive or less to things of interest/ downtown- Sassy brand image and messaging - obvi, don't pee in the hot tub- The only thing I have a hard time with: The price - paid for a dog friendly airstream but with the detached bathrooms, no snacks of any kind, a pool or toothpaste (I forgot mine) over $100 a night is steep and ensures you'll have to eat out for every single meal during your stay -

Funny marquee with same humor and sayings throughout the hotel.

Fantastic! Really enjoyed our night's stay in Amigo! I saw the Discovery + episode of "Re-Motel" that featured Amigo. While my fiancé and I were planning our Colorado road trip that episode was inspiration enough to add Salida to the list of places on the trip. Glad we did! The town is super cute and dog friendly. Amigo is also dog friendly and it was such a nice touch to have a dog bowl in front of our room upon arrival. Though they do not allow you to leave your dog in the hotel room without you present they have great alternative recommendations like Alpha Dog Care. We didn't end up using them however, we looked into it and they were super nice and helpful. The town of Salida is dog friendly so we ended up bringing our dog with us on our walk through town. There's also a dog park less than 10min away from Amigo that was really big and well kept. Amigo was truly an experience and all the details that went into everything was really cute and fun. Highly recommend!

Really cute motel! Everything is really hip, the bed is extremely comfortable, hot tub outside, great lounge area with coffee, tee, fruit and yogurt in the morning for breakfast. The front desk staff is very helpful and they do accommodate late check-ins. Will definitely come back and stay in the summertime to hike around.

THIS IS AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE. This was my second time here and my husband and I decided to try staying in one of the airstreams named "Merle". We loved our time here. Now, your first question might be, "what about a bathroom?" They have a bathroom that's independent of the airstream, only for airstream users. It's not as inconvenient as you'd think. It's super clean, stylish and isn't far from the trailer. My husband and I didn't mind at all. Merle is hardly your average airstream. We loved the layout, the cozy space and comfy bed! The bed, I'm not joking, is ridiculously comfortable. Also - there was a snow storm the night we stayed and we were perfectly warm. There are two heating units in Merle and we were toasty the whole time. Another aspect of Amigo that is great, free Huckleberry coffee offered in the office. You don't have to worry about breakfast because they offer free fruit, yogurt and DELICIOUS coffee to guests. Did I mention...FOR FREE. Honestly, if you're staying in Salida and not staying at Amigo, you're missing out!

How have I not reviewed Amigo? I've stayed here at least 4-5 times over the past several years. Better late than never... A very kitschy, comfy, cool overnight stay in Salida. By far the most fun accommodations in the area and incredibly affordable (depending on the season/day of the week, it's about $175/night). Lots of personalized touches in each room that make it feel like someone thought about you before you checked in for the stay. Complimentary breakfast for all guests. Hot tub. Cable TV. It sounds trite but this is all one really needs for a renovated motel. Brings you back to simpler times.

Last night we were passing through town and our 4-month old child had a complete meltdown. We frantically searched for vacancies at nearby hotels and luckily found the Amigo Motor Lodge. Luckily they had one vacancy left in one of their refurbished airstreams. The interior was completely redone and beautiful. You do have to share a bathroom with the other airstream renters but the community bathrooms are beautiful and you can tell that they have also recently been redone. All of their facilities including the lobby were very clean as well which is really important as new parents and living in the Covid era. Ashley at the front desk was more than accommodating. We would stay there again if we had the choice!

The Amigo Motor Lodge is best. It's cute, clean, fairly-priced, instagram-able, and in a great location. There are airstreams, a hot tub, and tee pees on site plus a room full of cozy seating and cacti. The beds are comfortable and the comforters don't feel creepy (as they do in many hotels). Amigo Motor Lodge FTW!

The price range for a room is solid. The morning coffee is absolutely excellent and this is coming from someone who only drinks Blue Bottle. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the neighborhood. I highly recommend for a couple getaway. That being said, consider adding non-slip mats to the bath tubs as my boyfriend nearly hit his head while showering. As well, I would have brought several postcards if they were available.

Amigo Motor Lodge is a hipster's paradise. This 1950s motel has been lovingly restored to its former mid-century modern glory, but with today's amenities such as A/C and WiFi. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean with beautiful mid-mod decor. They offer nice design touches like humorous information cards, artesian soaps and shampoos in the room, mini metal coolers for your room and well-landscaped grounds. The service is lovely, and there is a great hot tub, communal areas outdoors and the vintage airstreams are adorable. The owners compiled a nice brochure listing their favorite shops, restaurants, coffee and activity recommendations. All in all, a really fun, nostalgic place to stay. Highly recommend.

I am just so sad that we couldn't stay longer. We are already planning our trip back! Adorable, clean, comfy, pet friendly and run by the nicest people! Read MORE and see pictures here: http://www.thenerdygirlie.com/2017/02/hola-amigo-100-cups-of-coffee-adventure.html

The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10.
