I'm so very happy Ramiro at Amigo Garage Doors is still in business! He helped me out in 2013, again in 2021 and again today. Total lifesaver and such a pleasure! Ramiro is a great honest guy, shows up on time, gets the job done and has extremely fair pricing. My hero! My son went out to throw bottles into the recycle just after midnight, garage door came down crooked and we had a tough time detaching it and trying to straighten it out to close it so we could get to bed. I figured we could slide it back up but couldn't and then my car was stuck inside.. Took kids to school with their car at 8 am, called Ramiro when I got home and he was over within 40 min and done with a new spring and reattached cable in less than an hour.. still on time for my clients at 10 am. I never need to worry about my garage door. I wish all contractors and handymen were so efficient and reliable! read more

Ramiro replaced our garage door a few weeks back. He provided a reasonable quote quickly and got it installed in a few days. Other companies said 4-6 weeks for the same garage door. Will highly recommend this company. read more

I sprung a spring... Called on a Friday afternoon and fixed before dinner. Definitely would recommend.

Ramiro took great care of us again! He is very skilled, professional, courteous, and responsive. We needed a new opener after ours suddenly failed. Two days later and we are up and running. He even tuned up the door he installed over a decade ago. I highly recommend him. read more

Ramiro was quick to respond and fix Epplers garage doors mistakes from a year ago. My wife was stuck trying to lift the garage door with the power out and got fed up so I decided if the original company couldn't do it right why not try another local company that wasn't out to bend me over. Ramiro even found our top panel was missing a support edge which we added to give the door many more years of support and really reasonable. All my neighbors will be using him now read more

Ramiro was wonderful! I called at 4:45pm on a Friday after our garage spring broke. He asked for photos and then was available to come the next morning (we scheduled for Monday though). He texted with ETA, was fast and professional and overall I highly recommend him! read more

We are so happy with Amigo Garage Doors! We've used them a couple of times. Also recommended them to other family members and neighbors who use them and everybody was so happy with the work! The service is always very timely and professional and also very reasonable! It's very difficult to find such great work at such a reasonable price these days - they never fail! I've had my garage motor replaced, and I also had a cable replaced. My neighbor had their garage door cable replaced. My parents had an entire garage door replaced. Everyone was happy and we can't recommend the enough! read more

Our double car garage spring broke. It is a Friday . I texted Ramiro info and he was available within an hour. He promptly replaced the spring and lubricated the hinges and all is good again. Price was very fair. read more

Prompt and professional service to my snapped garage door spring at a fair price. Local business that I would recommend.

1 of my garage door's spring broke one night. Called Ramiro the next morning and he was able to come the same day and replace it. He arrived on time. That spring was replaced by him about 11 years ago. I asked Ramiro to replace the other garage door's spring which was also replaced 11 years ago as I am sure it will break soon anyway. Ramiro and Ramiro, Jr are both friendly and professional. Ramiro, Jr did a great job! read more

Ramiro is a very helpful businessman that is very prompt and efficient at whatever the task at hand is. I would gladly recommend him and his business to anyone in need of garage door services. read more

Ramiro was incredibly helpful! He leaves no stone unturned. My garage door has issues opening and closing even after overriding the sensor. I called a few companies and they couldn't come out! Ramiro was able to come by in half an hour and he gave me an estimate the same day. He was really nice and friendly and informative. Possesses a lot of technical knowledge about garages and the garage industry. Replacing the spring took about an hour and he helped grease the rail and hinges. He also found out that sunlight was affecting the sensor laser so he helped switch that out as well for no extra fee. Highly recommend! read more

One of two garage door springs broke and garage would not open. Called a coupon mailer company. They had appt. available in 2 hours, so I waited and they came. Gave me a very high quote "after" coupon discount. I said too costly so I'd have to think about it. Soon after, I called Amigo (local guy out of Livermore) based on a friend's referral... He asked me to send my address and photos of the springs and garage door. He replied quickly and arrived 40 min later. He took a look, gave me his quote, and was done with the job in 20 minutes. He knows what he is doing, cares about proper function of the whole garage door system. He showed me 2 other things wrong. He fine tuned the up and down travel limits which were off. And he pointed out the worn rail pully and gave me a quote for that repair. But he assured me that it's not urgent, just near future thing. And safe to wait till it fails or replace the rail early if I wish. Super friendly guy and very reasonable pricing compared the larger outfits. read more

Needed to update my garage door motors to more modern (wifi/back up battery). I found some Genie garage openers on sale at a wholesale store and purchased the 3 For my 3 car garage. Got quotes for other contractors and their prices were a bit on the high side. Searched good ol yelp and came across amigo garage doors. I called them got a quote for paying in cash. Waaaaaaay more reasonable price. Showed up on time and cleaned up fairly well after themselves. New garage doors work fine so far and no issues. Highly recommend. read more

My garage was acting up so I went and bought a new motor at Home Depot. Turns out to be a little more challenging for a DIY because of the tight space situation in my garage ceiling to mount it. The old one was much smaller than the newer ones. I was able to set up an appointment with Ramiro for the same week and showed up during the timeframe we agreed on. Ramiro installed it without issue and it's so smooth and quiet now. I also noticed that my garage door is not balanced so asked him to checked the springs and Ramiro pointed out that the springs were quite undersized for the door that I have so he gave me a quote to replace both which I agreed and he had them in his truck so he installed them at the same time. In addition, my garage door had a little crack which compromised one of the sections so he was able to install a cross beam and I only paid for the part. Very knowledgeable, honest, and reasonable with his pricing. I highly recommend Ramiro if you ever need any work on your garage door or motor. We had a great conversation throughout his installation. He can also get doors directly from factory and can install it for a great price. read more

Ramiro's partner came to take care of a sensor problem with our garage door that they had installed for us a year ago. They responded on the same day we reached out to them and re-wired the unit to make it function properly. They refused to take any money for the work they did as it was part of their warranty! Very professional! Wore mask and made sure the work area was clean when they left. It's clear that they respect their clients and take pride in their work. I would highly recommend them for any garage door installation or repair. read more

I noticed that one of my cables on my garage door looked frayed. I contacted a handful of garage door companies. Mr. Ruelas's quote was reasonable. I asked for his next available appointment and he said between 8 and 9 the next morning. He showed up exactly at 8am. He replaced both cables and adjusted the spring. The cables themselves cost nearly nothing and it's a quick job for an expert. He charged me exactly what he quoted the day before. (Hilariously, one of the larger garage door companies I got a quote from wanted nearly 4x as much for this simple job. No doubt they would have attempted to up-sell me on a new opener.) As an aside: he mentioned that the appointment after mine was in Pacifica, so I think he is willing to work all over the bay area. The bottom line is that, in the future, I will only ever call Mr. Ruelas to service my garage door. I feel lucky that I met him to have my cable replaced. I am writing this review to make sure that he gets lots of work so that in 5 years when I need a new spring, he will still be in the garage door business. We all need capable, honest repair experts like Mr. Ruelas. read more

Ramiro from Amigo Garage Doors is awesome! He installed a new garage door for my parents about 10 years ago and his pricing was very fair. I bought a garage door opener at Home Depot and Home Depot contracted with Amigo Garage door to do the install. 6 weeks went buy and nobody called to schedule the install. So I called Home Depot and they told me my install is assigned to Amigo Garage Doors. Home Depot gave me Amigio's number. I called and was told they will come on Wednesday and install the opener between 8am-10am. I let my renters know so they could take the day off from work to be home to allow the install. Amigo calls me on Wednesday morning at 7:30am saying they can't do the install today because they don't have a P.O. from Home Depot. This was so crazy. I was so upset and stressed out. Who does this? Who says they will install on a date and time and then call 30 minutes before the schedule install to say it's not going to happen. Crazy. My tenants took the day off from work. I called Home Depot to complain and Amigo came later that day to do the install. Home Depot charged me $95 install the garage door opener, then Amigo called and said they need to replace my garage door springs for an additional cost of $280. This is so crazy. My springs were fine. read more

Ramiro and his crew did an outstanding job in converting my standard height garage door tracks to a high lift style. Moving the opener from middle of garage to side of the door tracks also opened up the upper garage area too. From initial estimate, which was prompt, fair priced, and well informed, they were very courteous and careful with the installation. I will definitely call them again for any future work, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! Love my new Liftmaster 8500 and the higher door tracks! So smooth and quiet and the phone app is nice too! read more

I called this morning to get an estimate for a spring adjustment. Left a message and received a return call in minutes. Sadly, I was unable to take the call, so the gentleman followed up with a text! I called back, got a rough estimate over the phone and he mentioned that he would be able to swing by between 3 and 4. I got another text at 3:01 saying he was outside. How good is that? He had a mask, was incredibly nice and super qualified. The longest part of the job was ME moving things in the garage so he could get where he needed to be. In minutes, the spring tension was adjusted and tested and he spent a few more moments dialing in the opener. In the end the price was MORE than fair and the work was exceptional. Big fan. read more

I chose Amigo Garage Doors to change our opener this March. Very professional, neat work, and very fair price. I ended up letting the gentleman also change the rollers, strings, and rubber base for me. So far, so good, everything works perfectly, and he also provides a 1-year labor warranty. If you want a professional and affordable garage door service, I recommend Amigo Garage Doors. read more

After dragging my feet about getting the temperamental door replaced -- and it going from mostly broke to fully broke -- I called Amigo (mostly due to their reviews here). Day 1, they looked at the opener, and yup, need a new one. Presented a few options, and said it could be put in tomorrow (which worked best for our schedule). Day 2, their guy replaced the door, showed us how to program the included outdoor clicker thing, installed that as well, handed us two door openers, and mentioned in the unlikely event of a problem, the owner lives 6-8 blocks away and a call to the main number would get 'em out in a jif. Not needed, but nice to know the option was there. Yelp does note they accept credit cards, and if so, they certainly prefer checks. Fortunately, had the check book handy. read more

Great job! So happy with his fast response. Fair quote and awesome work! Makes you feel good to know you're getting an "honest deal" from a local Livermore guy, self owned and does his own work! Good to support people like him! My garage spring broke. Call back in less than 24 hours and scheduled same day apt. I wasn't in a hurry either. He replaced both springs for even wear and worked swiftly in under one hour. Good communication! Thank you! I will absolutely refer more business and use him in future. read more

My garage door had stopped opening one day and I had a feeling that I may need to purchase a new motor. I called Amigo Garage Doors and explained my garage door issue and was told they can send someone over the following day and I agreed for them to do so. The person who examined the garage door the next day arrived on time and was very friendly. After a few minutes of assessing the garage door, he determined that motor was just not strong enough to lift the garage door and suggested I get a new motor that carried more power. He provided me a quote on a LiftMaster unit that was more powerful and contained additional features than the Genie unit I previously had. The quoted price for the unit and installation was very reasonable. After agreeing to proceed he told me they could come by the next day and install it and sure enough they did. After the installation was completed, they gave me a walkthrough on the job they did and also gave me a tutorial on the new features that were included in this unit that my previous unit lacked. From beginning to the end these guys were as professional as can be and would highly suggest this company on any garage related issues. read more

I would like to share my wonderful experience about Amigo Garage doors with everyone. Romero is the owner and I had talked to him about installing a garage door opener since I did not have one. Romero came to install the opener and realized that the top mount would not work for my garage because I have a beam in the way so he recommended I get the side mount garage opener. It costed me almost double but he was able to come back the next day and install it. 3 weeks later, early on a Saturday morning, I opened the garage and for some reason the door got stuck and the cable was off the track. 3 of us held it up and managed to untangle the cable and close the door manually. I called Romero and he came in the next hour and fixed the cables and reset the opener. He didn't even charge me. I previously had Romero fix the spring on my previous house garage door. He is always reasonably priced and does a good job. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs any work done on their garage door. read more

Rip off!! Messy!! Late!! I took a day off to wait for these guys, no show. Next day late, had to call again. No respect for my time or loss of money through my job !! Took them two minutes to do job. Left all their stuff everywhere. Had to tell him to take his latter. Duh! But I guess the joke is on me because I paid them $175.00. Living in Livermore I always try to use local companies. Mistake this time!!! Cannot say enough bad things about them. Don't waste your money or time!!!!! read more
