Brought a unit up that was still in the shipping crate for me to look at after they unpacked it. Very knowledgeable of their products. They did not have the mower I was looking for but I left him with my number for him to give me a call when it arrives. I left with a free tshirt and hat! Does it get any better than that? Advertised as a Full Service Dealer on both Shindiawa & Amick's Website; however, they refused to provide service to my Shindiawa product because I didn't purchase it from them. I'm a 25 year Career Marine who's served my Country both in & out of the US. I went to high school in Randleman & my family has done business with Amick's since I can remember; however, today I felt like a foreigner. If there's one thing I know about business, it's that Customers are always your Best or Worst Advertisement. When I got ready to leave I told the same to Mr Amick. I've purchased from Amick's so many times, I've been helped by every employee at least once. I find all of the staff to be very knowledgable and helpful. While attempting to get the most for my money, I've done a lot of online shopping to get an idea of pricing for a wide variety of items before entering their store. During my research I've found Amick's pricing to be equal to or better than online specials over 90% of the time. On the items which their prices were slightly higher it wasn't enough of a difference to justify having to wait on the shipping. As far as their policy of servicing the products they've sold, from a business perspective it's basic common sense. Why should I, an Amick's customer, have to wait forever to get a professional product serviced, that my business relies on, because they're backlogged with work on homeowner grade products bought at big box stores? Recently purchased a tiger cat 2 and it's been great they really serviced it well and the drive belt broke after roughly 5 hours and they sent a replacement for free as part of the warranty. Highly recommend they are good Christian people. read more

unbelievably fast shipping and GREAT prices!

Ordered a mower belt.($45) I received an email stating it was shipped. I checked my bank account and noticed the $45 was pre authorized twice. Thinking it was a mistake. The lady who answered nonchalantly informed me that she gets calls like this occasionally, but she can't charge me twice, my credit card company did it. I didn't use a credit card, I used a debit card. She never once apologized for the inconvenience, never once said she would check into it. She automatically got defensive as if I were personally accusing her of stealing my money. I tried to explain it was her card merchant that does it (verified this through my bank) She was still rude and insisted it was nothing they did and there was nothing they could do. Today (money still held in my account) i went to check the tracking and found my account had been canceled. I called to talk to the owner. When I explained the issue, he informed me that they cancelled my order because i accused them of charging me twice and it was my credit card company that did it. Once again, not a credit card, its a debit card. What reason would my bank have for pre-authorizing money for them? He also said they had refunded my money....they have not. Now, $90 of my money is held in my bank account and the other $45 was part of my Christmas money. So I have no Christmas money, no belt and the owner was rude as well and hung up on me after i informed him I would have to file a better business report. I personally owned not only a small business, but a small engine business just like this one for years. Never did I treat my customers like a mistake on my fault was theirs. If you must shop here....don't use a card. read more
