I called and spoke with Alessia and she was very patience answering to all my questions. We are interested in learning ballroom dance and she said we can tell her what we wanna learn at the time of the lesson. The location we went was 121 Weaverly in Pasadena. The location was easy to find (10 mins walking distance from old Pasdena town) and my mom chose to learn Waltz. Alessia was our instructor and she was trying to teach us as much as she can within the hour time. She was nice, professional, and patience with all of us. It was a very pleasant experience for all of us.

The small class sizes mean personal attention and getting to know fellow students. The environment is supportive while also enourgaging you to challenge yourself. Taking classes twice a week has kept me in shape and I've progressed past where I had ever imagined starting as an adult with no previous ballet training. There are performances twice a year for those who would like to participate and always a lot of fun and gives students a goal to work towards and to demonstrate what they've learned. You can see the motivation of the students, motivation driven by a far more motivated owner/instructor - Emily. I had a front row seat, far right. Not an ideal seat for a show, but I was uniquely positioned because I could see behind the curtain. I could see Emily. Most of the time she had her typical serious demeanor. But every once in a while, I'd see a smile. It wasn't for anyone. No one was looking at her, the girls were performing. But in that moment, I could see her joy, her dedication, her passion. What a beautiful smile. And what joy she's given our daughters - and certainly to many others. I'd post a picture, but "NO PICTURES ALLOWED!"... so I don't have any. Highly recommended. The instructors try to be inclusive and are consistent (meaning they teach more than one class every week). They all have a wide range of dance experience and you will not be disappointed by their expertise. You will not find difficulty joining or building a community as there are a lot of regulars from the area that are nice. The building itself is spacious and rental prices seem to be good as well (minimum starting price is $20 an hour). The different spaces they have varies between 4 rooms (Warehouse and Studios A/B/C). There is a small lot and if that's full, there is a decent amount of street parking. It's close to the freeway entrance and plenty of food and other attractions around the area. However, with some positives also comes some areas to improve upon. With the limited parking and street parking, I would recommend coming at least 10-15min early to make sure you can arrive on time to class. Their system tends to be slow at times and you may miss the first 3-10 minutes of class trying to look for parking or wait due to slow check in times. The other focus is the variety of dance classes (in terms of competency levels and styles of dance). It seems that this studio focuses more on hip-hop, Salsa, and Contemporary classes being the most accessible (sprinkled with a couple of jazz, heels, and k-pop once a week). They have the same round of teachers and it would be nice to try different dance styles and genres. This studio definitely can continue to upgrade and grow more! My daughter has a lot of energy so we enroll her in a number of activities but Ms Liz is by far her favorite teacher. :) At the end of the spring session, she coordinated a small recital with costumes which was super cute and a wonderful experience. However, when contacted, I was immediately steered to the payment website to sign up for multiple lessons. Since I never met Sergio, I asked for an intro lesson and was the told the lesson would be at a private residence and ask to pay the $100 fee via Zelle. I found that to be a bit sketchy so I decided I would pay when we arrived at the lesson. On the day of the lesson, when I tried to confirm the appointment, I was informed that since I did not pay up front, Sergio scheduled another lesson. It's seems this he is more interested in payment than developing a relationship with a new client. That tells me what the lesson would be like.
