It was only my second class, but Sho's beginner swing group class absolutely whooped my calves. I never knew swing dancing could be so intense! What I found fascinating is that I had taken a few West Coast Swing lessons with a private instructor before, and as odd as it is to say, I learned more in one group class with Sho than I did in three private lessons. On top of that, the space is beautiful and everyone was incredibly friendly. If you're debating whether to check this place out, just do it. I'm always a little hesitant before trying something new, but after both classes, I walked out thinking, "Holy smokes, I can't wait for the next class." read more

Worth Every Mile of the Drive - Hands Down the Best Latin Dance Coach! I live in Rancho Mirage (Palm Springs area), and I happily drive 2 full hours each way for private lessons with Nikolay -- and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Nikolay is an absolute gem: incredibly patient, highly skilled, and masterful at teaching complex Latin techniques in a way that finally makes sense to my body and brain. He breaks everything down clearly, uses perfect analogies and cues and even writes it down tailored to how I learn, and never rushes or makes me feel frustrated -- even when I need something repeated multiple times. What makes it even better is Maria, who guides me beautifully on the ladies part all those subtle details I need to polish elevated my dancing to a whole new level The studio itself is fantastic: spacious and perfectly conducive to learning, with plenty of room to move freely and focus without feeling cramped. The staff /Dance instructors ( Lenny Sho Rebekah )are so welcoming and friendly -- they make every visit feel warm and supportive from the moment you walk in. Best of all, this place truly has dance for everybody at all levels -- whether you're a complete beginner, intermediate, advanced, or even a professional looking to deepen your skills. They also cater to people with disabilities, making the experience inclusive and accessible for everyone. It's rare to find a studio this welcoming and adaptable read more

We booked an intro lesson + 5 lesson wedding package with Sho Harvey, and we had an incredible experience! He made us feel very comfortable and was great at giving us feedback on areas of improvement. We really appreciated that he individually danced with both of us for more personalized instruction. He also cut our song for us, which meant one less thing for us to worry about! We weren't sure we would be able to learn a first dance in only 5 lessons, but he made what felt impossible become a reality! Thank you for everything! read more

Dance street has an amazing team that will make you feel good and comfortable while guiding you through a dance. My fiancée and I worked with Sho to come up with a dance for our first dance. He was awesome! He was able to quickly come up with a routine that was approachable/doable for beginners but still looked really nice. Everyone at dance street is friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend anyone who has ever been interested in learning to dance, even in the slightest, or if you need a choreographed dance for a specific occasion to book a session. read more

To all the newlyweds who are looking for dance lessons to WOW YOUR GUESTS... LOOK NO FURTHER! We got the 5 pack with Rebekah and had the best time learning our dance. Her choreo and direction made my now husband and I look like PROFESSIONAL DANCERS!!!! Our guests absolutely loved it. Thank you so much Dance Street and the best Rebekah. read more

We booked a 5-lesson wedding dance package plus an extra lesson. Rebekah really delivered. She started with the song we wanted, put together beautiful but idiot-proof choreography and cut the song to length so everything flowed smoothly. Neither my partner nor I are confident dancers and I am not a graceful person, but she Rebekah was really good at working with us. It turned out great! read more

We had a very short timeline to learn our wedding dance (a week and a half before our wedding). The instructor and the staff at the studio were so accommodating and by our third class (we really crammed in as many session as we could) we were feeling confident and prepared for our wedding dance! Highly recommend. They were really accommodating and great at teaching total behinners as well. read more

Loved our experience at Dance Street! Everyone was so nice and professional! We came for introductory wedding dance lesson with Sho and then signed up for the 5 private lesson package. Not only did Sho have incredible patience for my lack of rhythm, he also made it fun. We looked forward to each lesson and would like to go back for more. We felt confident going into our wedding dance because of Sho's great instruction--and contingency moves if my skirts got in the way. I'm so glad we picked Dance Street and highly recommend them to anyone considering wedding (or other) lessons! read more

Nikolai is an excellent wedding dance instructor. We chose the 10-lesson wedding dance package without any prior dance experience. He has a creative mind and is able to pull from his vast wealth of dance experience to choreograph a beginner-friendly yet fun and personalized dance routine for us based on our song-choice. It has elements of Waltz, K-Pop, and Disco (per our requests :D). He provides detailed pointers for us to improve upon each time we work with him. When we had some requests for particular dance styles, he wove all the dance styles together seamlessly and easily incorporated each style into the choreography. You can't go wrong with this kind of expertise and instruction! Dancing at Dance Street has become a highlight in our weeks! We have so much fun each time we go to learn from Nikolai, who made our wedding dance vision into a reality. It has been an incredible experience at Dance Street, and we can't wait to try out their other dance classes after the wedding. read more

Great instructor. Fun time. They really made us feel welcome and adapted to our where we were in our learning.

A wonderful community center. A place to make friends and celebrate dance. That's what this place is about, and I am a big fan. I brought my fiance for a beginners salsa class (I'm intermediate/advanced), and he had a great time letting loose and getting to know the genre. I myself drop in for the ladies' styling class and could not recommend it more. read more

Highly recommend dance lessons from this studio! My wife and I took lessons from Marco before our wedding in Maui and we were so happy with the experience and outcome! Truth be told - I was the one that actually needed dance lessons more than her so I searched for a place that could accommodate my beginner level and luckily found Dance Street. Marco was professional, patient and easy to work with! Even though I was worried it would be difficult for my wife and I to practice our routine (without one of us biting the others head off :P), Marco made it comfortable and more importantly fun for us! We didn't want to just awkwardly sway back and forth for our first dance so we learned a basic box step with some twirls and a dip! The lessons paid off because everything went perfectly on our wedding day and we are so grateful for the time and effort Marco put in to help make our wedding that much more special. Thank you Marco! Definitely recommend this studio for dance lessons. They have a variety of dance styles that they teach. Our only regret was that we didn't take more lessons here while we lived in Pasadena! read more

We love Dance Street California!!! My now husband and I were wanting to surprise our family and friends with a choreographed dance for our wedding. We also met Nikolai, his beautiful family and their adorable dog. They are the sweetest! Our family and friends were so surprised. They loved the dance and have requested that we now perform it every year on our wedding anniversary lol. Thank you Marco and DSC team, you guys are the best! read more

The instruction at this studio is top-notch and an overall pleasant experience. The instructors here were genuinely invested in my improvement as a dancer and were always willing to adjust to my specific needs during lessons--there was no "one size fits all" approach. Moreover, the community of regular student is very open and supportive of newcomers. read more

I love this place. Great talented instructors. Everyone is so nice. Made lots of new friends.

Nikolai and Maria have created an oases for dancers. I study with both of them and compete ProAm with Nikolai. Their level of expertise is unsurpassed and the caring and passion they extend to their students is the real deal. They've elevated my dance game in a short period of time to a level I thought was impossible... and I know there's a lot more ahead. Their staff is excellent and well trained in all styles and levels of dancing. The Master Class is a must for Latin dancers. On top of all of this, they're both so nice and honest. And those are the type of students they attract. I'm a huge fan! read more

I feel so blessed to have been introduced to this studio. I met students that drive 2hrs to get here each week. That's the kind of loyalty and following Nikolay and his wife/partner Maria have. The professionalism and the love you feel in the studio is because of the amazing team of pros running it. The students are so focused, approachable. and advanced and they really embrace newcomers. The master class on Saturdays is exactly what I was looking for. Challenging, humbling, athletic, fun, energetic and creative. Nikolay and Maria push you to bring out the best in yourself. I have tried many studios and this is one of the best dance "families" I have encountered. I am inspired to work hard and show up prepared. Cannot say enough. I love my new "home". read more

How did it take me SO long to find this "dancers" studio!?! If you want to learn to dance.. really learn to dance - you NEED to try this studio. I am a retired professional "theater" dancer who just returned to dancing after a 15 year break. I love to dance and want to enjoy it as a hobby. I researched a lot of studios before trying this one. Wow did they over deliver!! (I hope to NEVER leave!) The students and teachers here have blown me away! The level of talent and technique these instructors have is outstanding (but don't let that scare you). Nikolai & Maria are the sweetest, most humble professional dancers I have met. You will get distracted with their every step even on your lesson and they are worth every penny +! I love that you can study as you wish (unlike franchise studios). Group lessons, master technique classes, kids & parents classes (brilliant) and individual lessons. Whether it's social American dancing you want to learn or Latin international style this is the place. Marco is a master of all & a joy to dance with (and beyond adorable), Elliot is smooth and charming and JD is an Argentine master. Tatianna is exquisite, beautiful and her technique is on point. All the students I have seen perform from this studio are the best I have seen since returning to ballroom dance. I'm thrilled to be a student of Nikolai and to be a part of this welcoming, fun high quality studio. I can't wait to see how my dancing changes! read more

This is a good dance studio! Beautiful location and a warm friendly atmosphere. The interior design with mirrors and natural brick wall is perfect for the hardwood dance floor. They have group classes, as well as private lessons with world class instructors. I have seen all ages involved with all different levels of dance experience. I became involved to help with my balance and body awareness. The results have been better than I expected. It's been fun. The staff and students are all friendly and the atmosphere, when you walk through the door is welcoming. I highly recommend Dance Street. Try it, you'll like it! read more

Dance Street is an absolutely fabulous dance studio. I travel from Oregon just to dance at this studio. When I arrive I am always greeted with a warm, friendly, and inviting feeling. I dance with Nikolay and I am coached by Maria. They provide me with exceptional training and motivation. Because of their passion to teach, they prepared me to become a world champion. I can not say enough wonderful things about this studio and about Nikolay and Maria. Excellent owner, teachers, and all around dance venue. I highly recommend them. Excellent for weddings.

All the instructors, owners, and students are warm and welcoming! Most of the students seem to be regulars so I was personally welcomed into each class since I was new to the studio. I've taken four latin classes with Abel, a salsa class with Marco, one Cha Cha class with Maria, one Samba class with Nikolay, and one Tango class with Lenny. Other than the master classes, all other classes are beginner/open-level. Master classes are offered twice a week, but the style rotates every month (it was Cha Cha and Samba last November). I first started taking latin dance in college and was recently inspired to start taking classes again. Specifically, I wanted to improve in bachata and salsa. However, I felt it was difficult to improve since the salsa/bachata classes did not seem designed to emphasize how to lead and follow. It would be great if classes were also offered at the intermediate level so that students that are ready can advance. Regardless, Abel's routines were fun and he would add in some ladies' styling as well! I appreciated that Abel would take turns leading all the ladies in the class so that we could feel a strong lead. read more

I have never danced in my life until I came to this studio. Now, they can't stop me :)) In 5 short months my instructor, Tatiana, prepared to compete in a tournament, where I received 1st Place in a Beginner category. Definitely recommend you to stop by! psst.. first group class is free! read more

Nice brand new studio where Latin champion ballroom coaches Maria and Nikolai teach. I have taken lessons with Maria for about 3 years. They teach Latin master classes for all levels on Sundays. The studio also offers social dance classes like salsa and exercise dance classes like Zumba. Also the best part is that there's a Starbucks right next door to get a caffeine fix before dancing! Parking lot is behind the studio. read more

Great experience, people are nice. Very clean and cozy dance studio. Good for people want to enjoy dance. Very professional.

When my son was little I was looking for a dance school that specialized in Ballroom and Latin dance. Most dance schools don't do kids lessons in this discipline. One day on the way to the dentist in Pasadena I drove past Dance Street Studio and called. My son started the next Saturday and he has been going regularly for nearly 5 yrs. He has been taught by Marco and Maria over this time and I am sooooo happy. Now, I am not going to lie, my son does dance because I ask him to and I explain to him the benefits of having confidence in how he moves his body and he really enjoys it. Along with his partner he has improved tremendously. Marco is so patient and kind with them. He breaks things down so the kids can master new steps with ease. My son and his partner have participated in a number of the studio dance performance nights which everyone is so supportive of. Nikolay and Maria are so welcoming and caring to everyone that enters their studio. Marco is an excellent teacher and a very talented dancer. We love being part of the Dance Street family. read more

My husband and I took dance lessons from Marco before our wedding and we believe it was one of our best decisions in planning our wedding. We both did not have any experience in dancing and Marco made the whole experience amazing for us in which we really enjoyed going to the classes. He was professional, easy to communicate and work with. He always had a plan for each class and choregraphed a great dance for us. In addition, he really valued our opinion when we would tell him we did not feel comfortable with a certain step so we would change it for us. Definitely recommend this studio for dance lessons - not only for wedding dance classes , they have a variety of dance styles that they teach. read more
