The shop located in a great, easy access location with very friendly warm-hearted owner and staff. Brian and Jill (hope this is the correct spelling for the lovely staff) were so kind to let us explore the whole store. It was not only a shop visit for stones but also a meaningful opportunity to chat with Brian. My husband and I are truly thankful for meeting them. His eyes sparked when he told us about the wonderful trip and food in SE Asian countries in which one of them is our hometown. There is an protective warm welcoming atmostphere embracing the store. The price is amazingly more affordable than anywhere in the current market. There are some stones that you can only find in this place. They have a small corner with all the necessary machines to fix the stones (sorry I don't know the correct word for this term) A lovely stone store with very kind people! read more

I love this store. It's a super local vibe. For the hater who complained about social distancing, the small space has a big open door so there's full air circulation and sunlight streams in. I really felt comfortable in here. It's a pretty small space but full of different trays and trays of items, all over the place. The lady who worked there was SO NICE! While I was poking around at the stores she got two wrong number calls and she was really nice even on the phone. She had a little dog with her that was barky but she shushed him as many times as necessary. He only growled at me but that was it, but a chatty lady came in and he barked at her a bit. The store owner lady was really friendly and asked me about how I was doing and whether I needed help. She doesn't follow you around the store like some people do. I bought a bunch of great stones (some from Peru and some from India, I forgot the names) and the prices are out of this world. A stone I saw in this store (and ended up buying) was $25 at the Granville Island crystal store and it was $9 here. I couldn't believe it! You can get spheres and hearts here for like $5-10 for nice stones like quartz. I also bought a pendant and the lady gave me quality necklace string for FREE and even MADE me the necklace as I was digging around for my money. How nice is that? I went with an intention to buy some stones that I had been unable to find elsewhere. They have a pretty wide array of gems and stones. It's definitely intriguing to browse around, and the staff was very friendly and nice. Some big pieces of stone were said to have healing qualities. This place is by no means a perfectly neat and curated shop, but it is a treasure trove nonetheless ... it in fact may be even more so because of the sense you get of treasure hunting as soon as you walk through the doors. Sure, most gems and stones are categorized and labeled, and some even have descriptions and properties, but things in here feel a little shambolic in the best way. I could have spent over an hour poking through shelves and selecting treasures, but my companion was running out of patience and I realized I would quickly run out of money if I did so, so I made a few picks and went on my way. Everything seemed reasonable priced - I got nice sized pieces of a selenite, malachite, and white and blue scheelite/dolomite for under $20. The woman at the counter was quiet but friendly and seemed very knowledgeable, so would be a great person to ask about all the shop's wares. read more

-2 Stars because : I don't really like shopping there because 80% of the items do not have prices indicated so it gets wearing having to ask for a price for everything that catches your eye. I'm new to shopping for crystals so I don't know if this is typical for this type of store. I do know that I would buy more if prices were marked on flat priced items, and a scale was available to customers to use to get an idea of a price for a piece that goes by weight. Also, if they put and index card with attributes of the gem on all of the containers that hold them. Staff are nice. read more

I bought a friend a piece of labradorite, which wasn't the true labradorite since it's not from the island of Labra, but it's a close second. It came from some island that started with the letter M. After eating at the Naam with my partner we decided to take a peek at the stones here, despite being about 400% overpriced (I have been to places with greater selection and better prices). This was not my first time here, nor my second, nor my third. I can't count how many times I have stepped foot in this store. My partner and I walked in, and it didn't really bother me too much, but the person at the desk did not say hello. He was talking to a couple who were asking about or purchasing stones. We walked around and my partner came across a big stone which he grazed gently with his fingers, careful not to disturb it too much as it was sitting on a shelf and didn't want to knock it over. He said to me "This feels so nice. Feel it!" and as I reached my hand out I hear the man at the counter yell "Leave that alone!" I was so startled, and the man was so rude that my partner commented on how they are stones that come from the earth and he should be able to touch it if he wants, especially in a store selling stones. The man at the counter, nearly shaking with anger (not sure why this made him so upset) yelled "There are three things in here not for sale, that one that one and that one!" He pointed vaguely into different corners. I said to him, "I'm sorry, we didn't know. There are no signs reading 'Do Not Touch' so we figured it would be okay." and my partner said "Why are you treating us like we are children?" The man seemed to ignore me and said to my partner "I don't come in your house and play with your wife!" WHAT?!?! My partner started to say "This is a store, my house is not a store..." and I said to the man "Excuse me, what did you just say?" Knowing he said something beyond completely out of line, and if I were not in a store he would meet my fist... he said "I don't come into your house and touch your things!" Reminder, this is a store with no signs reading "Do Not Touch" or "Not for Sale." I said "That is NOT what you said! You are fucked up! You are so rude!" To which he replied "Yes, sorry, I'M rude" I was shaking with rage as I grabbed my partner and dragged him out the door while yelling "Fuck you, asshole!" A house is NOT a store with items for sale, a sign in the front and a business name and I (the wife) am NOT an object to "play" with. This man must have decided he didn't like the way we looked or something and thought it would be okay to treat us this way. No way. Completely unprofessional. If anyone believes in crystals holding energy, DO NOT go here, this man is full of nasty energy. My partner used to live above the store and witnessed fits of rage thrown by this man in the past. To my friend down below who told his story about he and his friend with the large stone, I must say I believe you know nothing of rock, in a word, manners. When I visited the shop today, I was expecting what you said, but got just the opposite. In fact, I received two hellos from the people working there. The mister at the counter was chatting it up with another customer about rubies and emeralds, and I was looking at a small piece of Titanium Quartz. The price for it was around twenty four dollars, but he sold it to more for twelve since I was younger. Does that sound like the guy to you? Now let me go further into detail about your errors. In a store of rocks, mineral, and gems, you have to be extremely careful. Don't touch anything you aren't prepared to by, and most certainly don't play around with ANYTHING in the store. Gentleness is key, as dropping or even squeezing to hard on a stone can break it. Now, from what it sounds, you touched the large Orange Calcite display on the rack in the middle of the store. Orange Calcite is known for being a softer mineral, and, of rubbed in the right places, will feel like soap. So it's understandable for why your friend wanted to touch it. HOWEVER, it is keen to know that you should absolutely NOT touch it. The fact that the Calcite was standing vertical and on a small rack means touching and rubbing it could easily top it over. It could have knocked over the entire rack, crushing hundreds of precious gems (Such as the Titanium Quartz), or even have fallen over into one of the boxes of minerals below, crushing them. You could have also broken the Orange Calcite itself by dropping it, and a piece that size is definitely expensive. A good rule to know for these stores is to never touch something you can't fit in one hand. Always ask first. That's basic manners 101. Your friend was wrong to touch it, and even more wrong to argue with the man. He definitely knows more about gems and minerals than you two combined, and was right to get mad. Just because things come from the earth doesn't mean they aren't expensive. Oh, and to anyone else: The man there is VERY nice. He helloed me and my brother (Who look like a couple of dumb kids who don't belong in a rock store of any kind) with a smile, and didn't say anything at all when I inspected some of the more valuable gems. Not to mention, as stated before, he gave me a fifty percent discount on Titanium Quartz. That's twenty four to twelve dollars. Don't think that's a lot? I've traveled over west Canada all week. Lake Louise, Banff, and a couple of other places. Everywhere I've gone, Titanium Quartz at around a FIFTH of the size of the piece I bought was ten dollars. Which means if I had bought my piece at another store, it would have costed me around FIFTY DOLLARS. And I paid just twelve. That guy at the counter is either crazy or the nicest guy on the planet. I'll go with the latter for now, but when I return (And I know I will, he has a one dollar box, where minerals of ALL SIZES are just one dollar), I'll further investigate. Even if I have to fly all the way from Florida to Vancouver again. Overall: This shop is 20/10. Don't waste your many anywhere else. Go there. read more

I have been shopping here since I was three years old. The Owner and his daughter are incredibly lovely, knowledgeable, friendly and generous. If you are in the market for gems, minerals, fossils, beads, crystals, or just a peaceful browse in a sweet environment you should check out this Vancouver hidden gem (see what I did there? LOL) This is a shop that will make you feel welcome and at peace no matter what kind of day you are having. And I have to mention that Brian, the owner, he is such a lovely and generous soul with a heart of gold. Their prices are really really good, like really good! Many of the larger pieces are sold by weight and the smaller pieces are priced to sell. There is even a box near the register with large chunks of rose quarts, calcite, etc. all priced at $1 or less! I went there because of all the good reviews I see online. However, I find it very disappointing for the first time I was there. I question how they priced their products. There are no price tags anywhere. If you like something, you would have to ask how much it is by the gram. They don't list how much per gram for any product so they can come up with any price they want on the spot. I was suspicious of the authenticity of a crystal I was looking at and the pricing they are asking for. The origin of the crystal is important but I think they were trying to sell me at a high quality price but what I see is of low quality. At the end, I didn't buy anything. I think people should be careful and inspect your product before buying. Also, I am very sensitive to crystal healing energy but this store is the first store I went that I couldn't feel much energy at all. They get one star for friendly staffs though. read more

The people there are very pleasant. They ask A LOT of questions in a friendly way. I like to shop in peace because picking rocks is a serious business so this was like a job interview for me, but they meant well. As soon as you come in they chat you and make commentary like "You live around here? What do you do? Are you traveling in the summer?" etc. It's like visiting your aunt's place. The owner guy was doing some drilling in the back and the lady with the tats was very kind and answered questions that I asked such as "What is this? What is that?" It's not the most polished store (more like a workshop) and a bit jumbled like your bedroom closet after you just moved in. The Granville Island crystal store has a lot more jewelry and selection, but this store has very good prices. For example, a stone I was looking at was 30 cents a pound. Last time I went shopping for that stone the proprietor wanted $30 (!!!) for it (this was in the US) and it was a muddy and mottled looking version, not smooth or green at all. Here, I ended up paying $5 for a really nice specimen that looks like the bottom of Lake Tahoe on a sunny day. I thought the labradorite hearts were a bit overpriced; I've gotten labradorite in the US for $5 (size of a toddler's fist) and this was $12 for a heart about 5 cm across. Anyway, worth checking out. The owner is welcoming and fairly shouted his greetings at two pretty girls wearing flowery dresses. I liked the lady with the tats though; she looked like the type to be a part of a healing circle or something. I'd be back. read more

I've been nice enough to buy some random things from this shop over the past decade. I've had the man that owns this store put a hole through an amethyst for me. Which he charged me an insane amount for just to put a hole through it. He was also very rude. Anyway, every time I see him and greet him, he ignores me. Super rude and condescending. Which is hilarious for such an energetically sensitive store. He's an asshole and I'll never walk into his mess of a shop ever again. You're better off at Crystal Ark. I've been here several times and like that the jewelry and crystals are reasonably priced with much to choose from. The reason I feel compelled to write a review and also never come back again is because of the rude, hostile, and condescending staff (well, just one in particular). The shop is small and more often than not, it is packed full of people browsing. Perhaps that contributes to the staff feeling overwhelmed and their short temper, I dont know. I go in looking for specific items and when I can't find it, I ask. The response I got was "They are all over, you just have to look yourself." Speechless. To my other questions, they respond curtly as if I am stupid, like explaining how to put on a necklace. It is as though they don't want to be bothered. Maybe if the shop was more organized with signs, then customers will ask less questions? Or is this just a shop for regulars? I regret buying crystals from here and am thinking of giving them away because not even 100 cleanses can get rid of the negative energy the crystals absorbed. I will be taking my business elsewhere. WOW! The energy in this store is lovely. In the past two years I really got into crystals and have been gaining more knowledge of it. When I went to this store I felt like a kid in a candy store.
