We've had Amerigas for a little over a year. They are fine as long as you don't need anything. Their customer service is non-existent. Literally. As a customer, every time you call, you will get an automated prompt. You will NOT have an option to speak to a human being. If you try, you'll be put on hold for literally hours ..usually until the phone call drops. If you try their chat bot on the website, they will give you the option to transfer to an agent but the agent never picks up the chat. There is literally no customer service. They must keep their overhead down by not hiring human beings in customer service. This is reality, folks. If you sign up with them, expect this. You've been warned. read more

I stopped service with Amerigas over a month ago. They told me I would be refunded for any gas over 5% in the tank. It was at 29% at time of pickup (which they waited a few weeks to pickup). When I call customer service they confirmed this and said I would receive my refund. I call today (2 weeks after pickup) and they asked why I think I should get a refund. Then they tell me I was right, I am owed a refund and they proceed to tell me they have no idea how much it is or how long it will take. This is not the type of service I expext from a reputable company. I pay my bills on time 100% of the time. When I requested stop service, I paid their final bill to them immediately. If you value good service and a company that values their customers, do not use Amerigas. read more

Their gas is almost twice the price of the industry standard in our area. If you rent a tank from them, you rent it in perpetuity. If you change companies, you still have to pay the rental on the tank. They will come and get the tank for $450. That is if you dig it up yourself. Someone should contact the Better Business Bureau! What a awful place. Had our name spelled wrong, had our address wrong. Could not get a delivery for the life of me. Wanted to close our account but they would not come and get their tanks but would still charge us rental fees. Got mad enough, we discontinued the tanks and drove them to the main office. Of course there was nobody there on a Monday so we left them by the front door. Called customer service, waited 15 minutes for someone to answer and told them to close our account. Of course they won't close our account until we pay a 36.00 late fee. Over my dead body. Stay away from this company! read more

WARNING.... Do not use this company for your Propane needs. They are horrible, pitiful service, poor quality and incompetent employees. I started the process of getting a tank set in August 2023, after over $1000 of charges, a tank installation that leaks, and 5 calls to the company to get gas delivered, it is now November 22, and they have not delivered any gas. Their phone is always off the hook! You have to call corporate offices. This is unacceptable for any business. They are making you wait so they can charge a pressure check on every fill. This is illegal! We called 8 days ago at 30% and they asked what we were at. Then they delay delay delay so they know it's out and charge emergency and the pressure check. We will be suing as I shut ours down at 8% today and waiting for these illegal charges. This tank is Campbell and new and does not leak. It held a full tank all summer and now it's held all day. They'll delay if they know this Do not use amerigas in NC near the coast. They are awful. BBB complaint incoming. Update! The California office guy was a jerk he didn't care and I will now contact the BBB as magically gas guy arrived and they hope this 50% fill when we called for a full tank. Ie. 80%. Tried to place a return as it takes 2 weeks for service to fill again. Was told we are on forecasting now(code for we may check but hope you run out) Also contacting local city government for gas line runs so we can dump amerigas. Waiting on corporate to contact and see if they convince us they are a fair company... read more

The regional office (who now schedule s the appointments) scheduled the appointment and told me I was the first appointment of the morning, between 8:30 and 9:00. At 9:30 I called the local office and was told they only go by an am or a pm appointment and do not give out specific times and the tech was out on a call already. I asked why he would not have come to my appointment first and she said if they get a public service request they service those ahead of any appointments. This is a service request for a first responders site so I'm not sure what request is considered a public service request if not a first responder. So I got up at 5am so I could drive a 110 miles and be onsite by 8am in case the tech was early and boy was that a joke. I would give no stars if possible read more
