They are a company that does not respect their customers, fails to keep their promises, and employs delivery personnel who are rude and insensitive. I placed an order for propane on August 26, with an expected delivery date of September 3. On the morning of September 3, I happened to catch the delivery driver leaving without making the delivery. I asked him why he was leaving, and he claimed the tank was blocked. I explained that it wasn't, but even if he believed it was, he could have informed me so I could resolve the issue. I was running out of gas, and with a small child and a family at home, this was unacceptable. The driver, however, was completely insensitive, telling me he had already closed the order and that I would need to call customer service to schedule a new delivery. So, I called customer service, and after explaining the situation, they escalated it to a supervisor, who opened a new request for delivery by September 6. On the morning of September 6, I called to confirm the delivery, only to be told that I needed to stay home because an adult was required to authorize the delivery since the tank was below 5%. I waited all day, making two more calls to customer service, only for another supervisor to reschedule the delivery for September 7, assuring me that it would be delivered since I was running out of gas. I was also told someone would call to notify me when they were on the way. Today, September 7, I woke up to a message saying they wouldn't be delivering because the tank was blocked. This company is terrible! They don't respect their customers, show no sensitivity--even knowing there are children in the house--and they don't deliver or follow through on their promises. Their fees are out of control! When I went into the hospital Sawyer gas was my company when I got out it was AmeriGas. And they were charging me $120 for a dispatch fee, $134 a month for a rental tank fee. When I canceled my service and told them to come and get their tank they refused so I called the state and then they charged me $684 to remove the tank that belonged to them! I'm paying all of my debt to them but I highly recommend you avoid this company at all costs! I am on social security disability and cannot afford to use this company. You can never reach the local office--they are completely unresponsive. The Indian call center is at least polite and answers the phone, but they lack any real authority to help with anything. Even they were unable to reach the local office and told me it would take 24-72 hours just to hear back. I'm canceling my service, and they are demanding nearly $500 just to pick up the tanks I've been renting from them--tanks that I cannot return myself because they refuse to allow it. This fee is supposedly justified by the "inspection" they claim to perform on every fill-up, but that's a complete joke. I had two separate fill-ups where the bottom stand rings were completely rusted out and at serious risk of failure. Did their techs mention anything? No. They just filled the tanks and left, leaving a dangerous situation unnoticed. The only reason I caught it was sheer luck, as these tanks are on a part of my property I rarely check. So what exactly is my rental fee paying for? Certainly not safety or proper maintenance. This company is happy to take your money but does nothing to ensure their own equipment is in proper condition. And when you finally decide to leave, they gouge you for more money on the way out. This is the definition of a predatory company--they don't care about safety, customer service, or fairness, just squeezing every last dollar out of their customers. This company has horrible customer service. Avoid this company at all costs. They are not worth your time and headache. I have been trying to have an empty tank removed since August 2023! I cannot seem to find a number to call locally here in Orlando to assist. The only number is the distribution call center that continues to say the same thing. They say they place the request, and a service technician will call you when they have you scheduled. I am not sure what has happened to Amerigas over the years, but it is impossible to speak with someone local. I am fine with outsourcing, but not when it interferes with communication. Despite multiple attempts to describe my issue to the company, no one seems to understand that I am having an issue with one of my valves. They have scheduled me multiple times for a technician to come out, but no one ever comes. I call multiple times to get a status and they always ensure me that they are coming. Even once, I got the confirmation of service that didn't actually happen. I feel like i am stuck with them because of my tank, but if you are deciding on a company, try calling customer service to see if you can carry on a conversation with them first. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Amerigas is the worst company I've ever dealt with when it comes to utilities. While every call with their godforsaken call center assures me I'm a "valued customer," I haven't had propane since May 12. Every time someone has come to repair or refill, it takes 3-4 days, and I still don't have working gas. When our hot water and gas stove stopped working, I paid for expedited service for them to refill the tank, which I didn't get. When I finally got them to show up, on May 16, I was told to schedule a repair. It was scheduled for May 22. They didn't show up. They "fixed" the tank on May 24, but couldn't refill it until today, May 27. Today, the deliveryman couldn't get the gas to work, despite trying for an hour. He put in a service request and I called. Soonest they can come is June 1. Every time I call they "escalate" my request and "expedite" what they can, and they still come at the very last moment. My gas delivery could have come 3 days ago if it had actually been expedited, and this problem would have been found sooner, but nope, that's not the way they operate. I didn't even know a temporary tank was a possibility until I started calling around for new service, and another company suggested it. I asked Amerigas customer service if they could bring one, and from what I can tell, even if they could, they still wouldn't be able to do it before my next appointment. Why? No idea. At this point I'm trying to saturate the Internet with as many bad reviews as I can. I have small kids and don't have any hot water, can't do dishes or laundry, and we're heating water in the microwave to bathe. I can't wait to switch companies. When I called to report a possible leak, they assured me that would send someone out to have a look and that I should rest assured there would be no charge for the visit. Then two days after the appointment with zero explanation as to what they had found while on site I received a bill for $375. When I called in to get help they acknowledged that they said the wrong thing but that the charge for the leak investigation would be $375. I have been in contact with this company since October 2023 trying to get them to pick up a large tank in my yard since I bought the house and I have no use for it. I have call and sent an e-mail to customer service back in Feb. 27, 2024 which they answer back on April 9 and told me to call a phone number which I did. For 10+ years we've been a client of Amerigas, leasing our tank with 2 fills per year. Prior to today, I would give them 3 stars; with missed deliveries, lousy customer service and generally rude. Since we only had to deal with them 2X per year for fill-ups, we tolerated the poor service. On Jan 24, we were invoiced for the tank rental and we payed the for the annual rental. 1 week ago, I receive an unsolicited call from someone saying they need to replace my propane tank. He never identified himself as Amerigas, so I questioned the validity of the call. I called Amerigas and received their offshore customer care department, which I though hypocritical for a company called AMERGAS. When I finally got to someone who could speak broken English clearly enough to understand, we confirmed it was a legitimate call, so we scheduled a day to install the tank in 1 week. 4 days ago, we ran out of gas, so I called and they said they can't do anything until the new tank was installed. The installation was scheduled for this morning. The driver shows up and said they can't install the new tank because we only have one gas appliance. They could only sell us a tank for $2000. And he didn't even have a replacement tank on the truck! I called their local 407 number, and was routed to their offshore customer care line that was no help. I tried to go to their office on Silver Star but they do not allow customers inside. All I can assume is that Amerigas does not care at all about their long time clients. Apparently is has to do with only having one gas appliance! I completely understand that profit is essential, but giving long term customers with no option but to pay $2000 with out any notice or justification is a loosing practice. Now, after pre-payng for a tank they leased, I'm stuck with no propane unless I pay them $2000. SOUNDS LIKE EXTORTION TO ME. AMERIGAS should live up to the least we signed. read more

This is the reiew I left for AmeriGas in their survey request: My experience with your company is as follows. I have a 500gal in ground tank running only the whole house 25kw genset. I had no issues with either for 4 years. I ordered 200gal to be added, AmeriGas came out and did a mandatory leak test as a new customer, and when that passed they added 200 gal, a few months later I noticed my guage reading low and smelled gas. AmeriGas sent out someone who could find no leak. I insisted there must be a leak as the guage was confirmed working and 1/2 the gas was gone, AmeriGas sent anohther tech who verified there was a leak after all. By then all the gas was gone. The generator was never run except for its weekly 15min "exercise" cycle, and i do this manually and actually missed several weeks. The leak was fixed by a plumber at my expense and more gas ordered. Then we were hit with the Cat3 hurricane Milton before they could refill the gas and I was without genset. I was never informed that they were going to charge me a service call nor how much it was so you can imagine my surprise when I got 2 bills for almost $500 for 2 guy to stop by for 10-20 min each and for one not even be able to find the leak and put in his report it wasnt leaking when clearly it smelled like gas, the gas was gone and there was a leak, which I (the home owner) found w a spray bottle of window cleaner. The last guy Patrick was very nice however. So my experience with AmeriGas is I started at 40% full tank, spent nearly $1000 and currently have 1-4% tank. Amerigas has the worst customer service ever. It takes forever for them to answer the phone if they answer at all. You cannot speak to a local representative only someone halfway around the world. They will tell you that they will deliver on a certain day only to cancel multiple times and then finally not show up at all. When the person at the other end of the world finally answers your phone call they will lie to you and tell you the propane will be delivered but it never gets delivered. This company is a joke. I have a leak in their tank that i rent from them and they said there isn't a leak. I can smell propane and then they wanted to charge me to fill up my tank. Here is the thing, I spent over $700 filling it up and I don't have anything hooked up to it anymore. A couple days after filling it up, my hot water heater went out (the only appliance I have on gas) and I replaced it with an electric one. You tell me how is it possible to now have an empty tank when I am not using it and I smell propane coming from it. As for the Amerigas Orlando Office, that is certainly a ONE to ZERO star. However, I contacted Brilynn at corporate and told her Amerigas in Orlando has a ONE star rating on Yelp and I know why. She was super polite, asked what the problem was then Brought the Hammer down. It took nearly two months for the AG Orlando office to figure out what to do with the 2 tanks they put in my yard and it took her like a day to tell them what to do. Then AG Orlando was supposed to fill the tank, as scheduled, no show. I contacted her again on a Friday evening and there was an AG truck at my door first thing Saturday morning. He couldn't place it where we wanted, and he was immediately ready to leave after that. No other options about if we wanted to do it somewhere else, or bury the tank, it seemed like he had no clue what his job even was. After WE showed him a couple options, we asked for a quote based on those options, and 3 weeks later we're still waiting. Now here's the scam--$201.17 was billed to us, just to have the guy stand on our property. We have spent so much time on the phone just trying to get the quotes, and only get passed from person to person, then finally told to send an email to customer service. Still no response to the email, but they've definitely made sure to send the bill multiple times. i have had a 120 gallons propane take buried in my yard for 19 years. Heritage Propane put it in and Amerigas bought that company. In February 2023, I smelled fumes outside and Amerigas came right out and turned off the tank. They said a technician would come to service the problem. After repeated calls, he came in in April and said the tank was no longer good. Since I no longer use much gas and it was costly, I decided not to replace. The tech said someone would come to pump out the remaining gas and fill the tank with water. I was to be reimbursed for the remaining gas. After many more calls, to a foreign country, they came and pumped the gas. I got a bill for $302 for this service. Now I have to pay them hundreds of dollars to dig it up and haul it away, or continue to pay rent on it forever even though it's unusable! Terrible customer service! read more

Amerigas inspected my propane tank and filled it for first usage. The technician failed to do it properly. It resulted in the full tank draining and a gas leak. I called them within a few days to inspect the situation. They sent someone to shut off the tank, reinspected, and then refilled it. The 2nd inspector admitted that the leak was caused due to the first technician not properly shutting the valve resulting in the leak. The problem is Amerigas charged me for each inspection and each fill. I contacted them numerous times, asked for Managers, was told a District Manager would contact me within 3 days (3x I was told this), and never heard back. They sent a bill for almost $900. I should not pay for anything more than the first fill. Their negligence could have resulted in a major fire and is the reason for the tank having to be refilled within less than a week. Poor customer service. No follow-up. They bill and are negligent in their service. They refuse to take responsibility for their technician's failure to properly setup the tank. They filled out all the paperwork for a permit and after three weeks, I received a call because Amerigas filed out the application wrong. Samantha actually admitted to me that she's never filed for a permit before, at least in Maitland.
