RUN...run fast away from AmeriGas. *****Then see below***** They hung our family out to freeze despite multiple attempts to get our tank filled well before winter storms a few years ago. All calls went overseas, no help arrived, and we had to take emergency measures. They lied all the way through an extremely challenging winter. It got worse. A year after switching companies we suddenly found an AmeriGas sticker on the tank and a new valve of some sort, quickly removed by our new propane company. They then began harassing us saying that they own the tank (yet couldn't provide a contract and never charged a rental fee...the prior owner had bought it) and were coming to get it. I informed them they already trespassed once, never again without consequences, and that they would end up spending a lot more with a lawsuit. Since then, they have continued to try to collect a conjured up rental fee through a collector but haven't reported to the credit agencies, which is actually the only smart thing I have seen out of them to date. This is an evil corrupt company that is too big for its britches. The lawsuits they have faced for overcharging, under filling, and attempting to corner the market are a good read, SEE BELOW. Apparently, they are not learning that good customer service brings good business. Antitrust Litigation: AmeriGas was involved in multi-district litigation (MDL) regarding alleged collusion to lower the amount of propane in pre-filled tanks. Worst company EVER! I challenge you to try to talk to anyone of decision making authority. EVERY call starts with someone overseas that doesn't speak or understand english very well. Even the decent local delivery employees find themselves constantly apologizing for the completely inept customer service department. I can't stand the thought of having to communicate a problem with them. I would definitely suggest you use ANY other residential propane provider. I am dumping them ASAP. read more

Extremely expensive and nickel and dime you wherever they can. Tough to get someone on the phone. They charged an arm and a leg for me to leave their company as a customer and took 2 months to come retrieve their propane tank. I highly recommend exploring other propane options in your area. MFA in Missouri is a wonderful company, great people, and charge half the price for propane. Do your research! read more

Are you kidding me? Worst ever. Order gas ahead of time. They pull in and immediately leave. It's below 30 and we have a household member fighting cancer. When we called the person said we aren't required by law to provide gas for anyone.( worst cold snap in 20 plus years) Ever heard of integrity or human decency? Worst gas company possible. They give delivery dates and ask that an adult be home, but don't give time frames and then don't show for 5 days after said date. No updates provided. Customer services reps don't have any information beyond what you get on the automated phone line or online account. This has happened multiple times. Will be switching companies. read more

This is the wort company i have ever worked with in any industry. Please do not work with this company. They will price gauge you. This company is Very rude on the phone with wait time for hours. After their introductory offer, they $1.50 PER GALLON HIGHER than all of their competition. read more

I have been dealing with this company for 17 years. They are getting worse and worse every year. We are on auto delivery and they took us off auto delivery without telling us because they said I had late fees unpaid for an amerilok charge that we are not supposed to pay. Our subdivision is on another plan. But they charged me anyway. I couldn't talk to anyone locally, only from India. I explained that they allowed a senior citizens tank get to 0 during winter. Way over priced on propane, charged me 4.29 a gallon , called a few other places that were 1.35 a gallon. Tried to deliver fuel that I Did not order and then charged me for fuel that was in the tank a year after I bought the house and lied to me two times regarding the charges I had no contract with them Extreme long call wait times lat time was 1:45 , will not let you speak with anyone in the resolution Dept not even n email I do not recommend Ameri gas read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We moved into our house July 2021, for some reason the gas was off due to the people who rehabbed it not turning it on when they got it filled. We called and were told it would take a week to turn on?!? Even with an infant in the home and knowing it was urgent they made no effort to try and come sooner. I could understand 48 hours but an entire week is complete nonsense. Thankfully we were able to get it turned on by someone we knew who was familiar with propane. Their prices are way over the others in the area. To MFA we go has already been a billion times easier to work with them! read more

I ordered gas from Amerigas on January 24, 2022. As of April 4, 2022 it still has not been delivered. I have called at least 5 times only to get a call center assuring me that the gas will be delivered within 24 hours. I have given up, and called my credit card company to dispute the charge. Clearly, they are not going to show up. read more

I wouldn't recommend doing business with this company. Today is 5-24-21. On 1-12-21 AmeriGas delivered 135 gallons of propane that I didn't order into the tank I personally own. I then received a bill for the gas at 3.389 per gallon. After several hours on the phone I eventuality paid a reduced bill to hopefully resolve the situation. During every phone call I informed the person on the phone that AmeriGas wasn't to come onto my property for any reason ever. Today a driver came to my house. I met him in my yard when he was returning to his truck. When I asked if I could help him he said he was there to pump out my propane tank. I responded with "no your not" and asked for his managers name and phone number that he never produced. After a a brief conversation with the driver he left only saying he was given instructions to pump my tank out and wasn given an amount to remove. I wasn't very nice to the driver and would be more than willing to apologize to him face to face if AmeriGas would produce someone that could at the very least let me know what is going on. I quit doing business with Amerigas several years ago because they charged me for more propane than they had seemingly delivered . Most times this would be disregarded as someone who has a faulty gauge but at that time I was able to get ahold of a manager and through a few conversations she wanted to put some more propane in my tank to see if it overflowed. If it had overflowed it would have proven that my gauge was inaccurate but it didn't. the manager and I agreed that the extra propane delivered would even out the discrepancy and that was the end of that situation. Needless to say I don't trust AmeriGas and I don't think anyone else should either. I have been doing business with Ferrellgas for a couple years and they have been great. read more
