I visited the huge mart which you need a business license to enter. The mart has three buildings and I visited the women's clothing and accessories. The check in was great. The staff verified the information input within the system earlier. However, the mart was empty only about 10 stories were open. They were preparing for a trade show scheduled for mid July. The jewelry floor is great for diamonds and good value.

We have a great experience at AmericasMart over Labor Day weekend for Dragon Con shopping for all things nerdy and nerdier. From what I understand the concept of AM is to provide a permanent place for whole sales to sell. It took us 2 days to get through all 4 floors of shops, vendors and merchants. The security and logistics of managing so many people at such a big event must be a total nightmare but the folks here handled it like it was an old folks birthday party. They had the Fire Marshall out there counting heads so that the place never went above what was allowed... Even with the 98 degrees heat and humidity on the outside and the front doors open; we never felt uncomfortable on the inside. In fact when we were working our way to the 4th floor we actually felt a bit chilly from the a/c...which goes to show they had some serious a/c blasting here which we really appreciate! Some of the vendors that we enjoyed here included First floor Ripley's Believe It or Not traveling Museum Pegasus Publishing Fandom Metal works Titan Games and Comics Kmk Designs Second Floor Wonderland Creations Borderlands Poetic Earth Handmade Journals Dragon Pets Alien Entertainment Crazy Cat Collectibles Third Floor Furry Feline Creatives Tasty Peach McFarland Pride Kitty The Utensil Company Fourth Floor (aka the Attic) the artist floor where they asked people not to bring drinks and food so that some klutz doesn't spill it over their stuff... Pros: This is one of the best wholesale trade centers in the country. The exhibition center is one of the largest permanent wholesale trade centers in the world, with three buildings, each approximately twenty floors. Cons: - The facilities are beginning to show age and the infrastructure needs to be upgraded. - There are issues with communications on mobile devices, they should install an advanced WiFi system or partner with a wireless carrier. - There are issues moving throughout the facility, they should install smart elevator technology that moves people around the buildings faster and more efficiently, while saving energy and wear and tear on the elevators. - They should make sure that overhead directional signs or monitors exist and are clearly marked at every hallway intersection, escalator, elevator, and sky bridge. - Overhead directional monitors can pay for themselves with advertising and cross promote events taking place in the facility in real time. People: Good Process: Good Product: Good Quality: Good Quantity: N/A Value: N/A Cleanliness: Good Ambience: Good Timing: Good Attention To Detail: Good

I first visited AmericasMart a few years ago. I did not realize some events were open to the trade only. Those that worked for or were registered with specific employers or fashion or interior design organizations. I went inside only to find a very rude and condescending woman at the front desk who refused to let me enter for an event I was registered to attend. I also found out that day that there are AmericasMart parking garages across the street. I have never parked in those garages. I later was able to finally walk around the Mart for the first time attending a different event and I had no problem entering and exiting the venue. I attended AmericasMart twice last year. One was a volunteering opportunity, the other was for a conference. The volunteering opportunity was taking place in one small area of the venue so it was easy to navigate. The conference was taking place in multiple areas of the Mart. It was very confusing at first because none of the staff I encountered could give me clear instructions on how to get to one of the buildings. There are multiple buildings that make up the Mart and depending on which way you enter or exit, it can be very confusing while walking around the area. The staff and security I encountered on my later visits to the Mart were very courteous. For large scale events, it would help if there were more signage or staff to direct attendees in the right direction.

This is a huge market with something for everyone. On the lower floors of building one and two you can find the juried sections and HD home with lots of novelties and new design companies. In higher levels you can find anything from antiques to high end furniture show rooms. The companies that show case here are amazing and the clientele ranges from interior designers and small stores to some of the largest retailers world wide. I definitely recommend starting up as a temporary if you have a good product and then make your way up to the permanent showrooms when you are ready.

Must be credentialed to get in but if you have a store, it's worth the trip to ATL. Check out the cash&carry sections.

During a recent visit to Atlanta, my friend and I wanted to kill some time, so we went here to hang out. We walked around, checked out the shops, and enjoyed some gelato from Honeysuckle Gelato. And full of every sort of eating/drinking/shopping experience you & your group could want. Even with its appeal to tourists, I'd have to imagine that locals* regularly patronize the building (and shops within). I came here with a huge group on an overcast Wednesday in mid-spring. Lots of people. Lots of agendas. Everyone was sated. Why? Because PCM is home to a bevy of experiences. I really enjoy repurposed old warehouses. From the sweeping ceilings to the ironwork to the beautiful old wood, they're reminders of why some things are meant to be kept and protected -- even when the old shell reveals something new inside. I detached from my group and went feral. I was here to eat but I wanted to explore. I did some window shopping and people watching. I attempted to access the roof but I needed a ticket or some such nonsense (Atlanta still has to Atlanta). But if you have the time and patience to get a ticket, you should check it out. I eventually settled on dinner and dessertS (reviews to come) and enjoyed every bite. There's a reason why PCM is a part of external-facing media when it comes to Atlanta. And I'm pleased to report that it acquits itself nicely. Even if it's out of your way and/or not in your plan to visit, make the time to do so. I think you'll be happy that you did. *I do understand the annoyance at parking issues being a deterrent to visiting. That struggle is real and universal.
