I set up an appointment with this company for my shop units. I was use to going to Stop Heating &…read moreCooling and was told they had bought them out. I explained that I had an air conditioner/hearting unit that needed help. I explained that the unit was smelling of vinegar and moldy smell. I explained that the unit was cooling but that it was extremely hot to the touch outside. I was told that it was most likely a valve that was plugged and that they could come out and fix that and clean the unit. I set up my appointment for 3:00. The next day I called and asked if I could have both units cleaned so I would be set for winter. I again explained that these were hear and air units AND gave them the name of the unit I had in my shop. I was told they could do that. They did ask if they could back the appointment up to 1:30 and I agreed. On that day I get a call at 11:50 that Mr. Michael Gaughan is on their way. I race over there and open up my shop. I am waiting for 20 minutes so I call to make sure they did not come early and leave. The person on the phone tells me they are still on their way. Ten minutes later I get a call from Mr. Gaughan from his vehicle asking me if I am there even though he parked right in front of the shop and could clearly see me inside the building. He walked in and I proceeded to show him where the units where and what was happening. He cut off my sentence by wanting to see where they were in back. We walked around the building and he looks at the one unit and asks me if the unit is working and I said yes, but it is running really hot. I told him that the company thought it was something plugged. He then asks me if water comes out of the unit. I said I did not know for sure because se there has been no water coming out of it. He then asks me why I would think water would be coming out and I said because the condensation has to go somewhere and its clearly standing water inside. He then asks me where the water is. And I have no idea what he is talking about. And he said well the water to hook up a hose. And I said, we do not have water back here. It is in front of the building. Is this so you can clean the unit or what because your company never said anything about this. So he then starts walking the opposite way of where we came in. Not to look at the other unit but just walks away from me. I ask him what he is doing and that there are no water outlets over there. He proceeds to tell me that he is nosy and he just likes to nose around and see what's going on. I tell him that where the trash is and it's easier to get back the way we came. On the way back I show him where the water hoses are and he complains that his hose may not go back that far. Back in the shop, he then turns to me and asks me what he wants me to do? Does he want me to take the unit out? Does he want me to take all the insulation out? How the heck do I know? I called his company and they told me they would clean the unit and fix the draining issue. They never asked me any questions. So finally I ask him if he has ever seen a unit like this. And he tells me he only works on big units and split units. I ask him if he knows what to do because if he is not comfortable doing this I cannot afford to have him mess it up and need a new unit. And he still has never even looked at the other unit. So then He starts complaining about how he would have to do this and I have now lost confidence in this guy. So I call his company back and tell them that this guy is not sure how to proceed and could you talk to him. I am now in business mode voice stating that I told you everything when I made the appointment and now I have someone who I am worried is going to screw things up worse. So I give Mr. Gaughan my phone and they discuss it. He hands the phone back to me and the they tell me that he knows what to do and it will be okay. I again reiterate that if he does not feel confident doing this I cannot afford to buy another AC. So I get off the phone and say you are good to go. But by that time Mr. Gaughan has developed an attitude. He takes two steps and gives me the stink eye. Takes two more steps and gives me the stink eye. He then takes out the filter to the AC which is clean and then shoves it back into the unit. He tries to pull the front plate off of the unit and cannot and clearly does not know what he is doing. I then say to him; I do not understand what is the attitude here. Look, if I am not confident in my job, I let the client know so they do not walk out unhappy. Do you feel comfortable in what you are doing? He turns to me glaring. I am looking back at me and he starts walking past the door and takes two steps and says angrily Competent and then walks some more and says competent. And I say back to him, I have no idea what is going on here or what you mean by this. He then walks around his truck and stands there doing nothing and then he walks over to the other side

Active Heating & Cooling came today because of a very loud buzzing noise coming from our Furnace…read more We selected Active because of their 5-star rating. Alan came today from Active and after troubleshooting the Furnace it was determined that the very loud buzzing noise was being created by too large of a filter, which was completely the wrong size and much too thick, which was causing the motor to overheat and causing the very loud buzzing. My neighbor installed the filter two weeks ago and installed the wrong size. Active Heating & Cooling solved the issue in 15 minutes today and did not even accept a service charge. The entire service call and solving the issue was done completely for free. They said they want long-term relationships and referrals and are not about making a quick buck. This type of honesty is rarely ever seen, and Active Heating & Cooling is as honest and as professional as we have ever seen. Thank You Active Heating & Cooling!

After calling a different company who didn't listen to what we were telling them and "fixed" it by applying a thin bead of caulk around the faucet, we decided to try Ramon and his crew. Not only were they able to get me in within an hour or so of calling, but they fixed the job correctly. He and his crew were very pleasant and polite guys. They're prices were more than fair. It only cost me about 50 bucks more than the other guys who didn't fix a damn thing. I can't speak highly enough of Ramon and his crew. They are the ONLY plumbers I will use and or recommend to anybody in need. I read the previous reviews, and I cannot speak to other people situation and experiences, but I Highly doubt the race card, or unethical business is something that Ramon or his guys practice. I used Top Tier Mechanical for my HVAC needs in June 2024. I had a new AC unit installed with a new…read morecoil and line set. During the installation, the line set was damaged, property was damaged and things left a mess. He attempted to give me a 2 foot piece of drop ceiling track when what was damaged was a 4 foot section, deeming this section useless. No attempt to replace the 2 damaged ceiling tiles. On top of the damage, the unit never worked properly. I've tried multiple times to have the company rectify the situation as everything is under warranty. It was never rectified last year and as of this year, the company came out and attempted to fix the issue and it did not work. I had a friend, that's works for a HVAC company, come over and check the numbers with his meter. He did not perform any work at all on the system, simply read the number to let me know that the reading wasn't within normal range. Chris, the owner of the company, told me that he was going to warranty my coil and replace it. He has made multiple lies to me with different dates and times he come out. I made sure to set aside time from work to be able to be here for him. He doesn't show up and completely stopped responding all together. I filed a complaint with the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. They have reached out on my behalf and he lied to them stating information that goes against the proof I have in all of the text messages. I have all the paper trail going all the way back to June 2024 when the install happened. It's all been through text messages and I have screenshots of everything. I'm currently without a working AC unit and had to borrow window units to get by in this heat. As of now, I am out a lot of money. I have since had an HVAC company come out and take a look at my system. I was informed, and have pictures, that the coil in my system isn't the right coil. I paid for a 2.5 ton coil and received a 1.5 ton coil. This was verified via serial number. On top of the coil being wrong size, it was improperly installed without the right size pan under it causing a major airflow issue. I have pictures of this as well. When looking into the warranty, he never registered the coil only the condenser, meaning that it is not under warranty. Regardless, it was the wrong size and I had to buy the proper coil for my unit. After having these issues I looked deeper into the company and the owner has been sued numerous times under his personal name, Top Tier Mechanical and his previous company name of Fresh Air Mechanical. It is a long list of small claims and fraud cases. It's all public knowledge, so do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company. If you do not believe me, search for yourself on the Wisconsin CCAP webpage. Thank you and I hope I saved you a long list of problems and headache.
