DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Unprofessional. Unreliable. Dishonest. They eventually showed up and…read moredid the work, and that's about the best thing I can say about them. The first contractor I hired showed up, worked for 2 hours and bailed and never bothered to come back the next day, so the fact that these guys even came to my house was an improvement over the first contractor, but that's the only positive thing I have to say. We negotiated a price of $1600 and shook hands on it. Luka said he's from Texas, so he should place a little higher importance on the value of sticking to your word - a handshake deal in Texas is a legally binding contract you know... Day one things got off to a bit of a rough start. They said they'd be at my house at 8:30, didn't show up until 10. They charged me for 2 laborers, but the second guy did not show up until later in the afternoon. Once they got going, they made pretty quick work demoing out the cinderblock raised bed planter which was good. They managed to pull 1 of the 3 tree stumps out, but ended up snapping multiple tow straps and getting a flat tire in their bob cat in the process. They insisted I would need to pay $200 for a chain to pull the remaining stumps out, and that it was going to take an extra day of labor, so the price went up. This was the point where I started getting annoyed, but it's honestly not uncommon for a project to go over time and over budget due to unforeseen circumstances. The next day, they informed me replacing the tire on their bob cat was going to cost $500 to fix, which is unfortunate for them - but not at all my problem. I ended up having to pay nearly $300 for a rental bob cat for the second day. Why that became MY problem, I'm really not sure (obviously, they're operating on a shoestring budget and didn't have the cash on hand to pay for the rental up front. Okay... fine. Not actually my problem, but at this point I just want the job done without any more delays.) Again Luka said "they" would be at my house by 9:30 but didn't actually show up until nearly 11 - this time just Luka by himself, even though he'd already invoiced me for 2 laborers for 2 days. Second laborer never showed up on day two. Also, Luka did not have the chain he supposedly needed me to pay for. At this point I'm getting both very annoyed and wary of the fact that he's trying to pull a fast one on me with the price. The guy who rented the bobcat to me said he'd be back around 4pm to pick it up, so you'd think that being several hours late getting started and under a time crunch, Luka would have stuck around until the job was done, but he decided to take a lunch break around 1pm, telling me he'd be gone for about a half hour. He came back about almost 2 hours later. At this point there was still a large pile of dirt and one whole tree stump left to remove. Had he showed up when he said he would, and not taken an extremely long lunch break, he might have actually been finished on schedule. At this point I feel like he's doing this to try and force me to pay for an extra day of labor, which I'm not about to do. he invoiced me for 2 laborers for 2 days - so 2 laborers for 1 day and 1 laborer for 2 days seems fair, but I'm not paying another dime. The rental guy didn't actually show up until around 5pm to pick up the bob cat so Luka had an extra hour to work and in that time he did actually manage to pull the third stump out - however, if he would have taken the advice of the rental guy and just chain sawed out the roots before trying to pull the stumps out he could have saved himself several hours of time and perhaps finished the job in two days as was originally quoted. There is a harbor freight less than a quarter mile from my house, just saying... Assessing the damage from the day before, they knocked over one of my cacti and threw yard debris on top of my lemon tree sapling. We're now going into day 3. This morning I went outside and took stock of my tools to find that one of my shovels had gone missing. I'm sure 'by accident'. Annoying, but not the end of the world. Luka texted me this morning he'd be at my house around 10:30. He finally showed up at 1:30 to finish the job. While I'm satisfied with the work, just about everything else with this project was terrible.

Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. From the start, there were ongoing issues with reliability and communication. Luca was consistently hours late, frequently made verbal promises or gave quotes that later changed, and did not follow through. We even tried to coach him and provide constructive feedback, which he acknowledged--but nothing improved. The project was supposed to take 7 days but was rushed so he could move on to another job. On the final day, he pulled his crew early and said he would return the next day to finish cleaning, complete the front porch work, deliver additional rock (as the coverage was very light), and--most importantly--repair damage his crew caused to our concrete driveway while removing a walkway. He did show up the next day, but only to clean up. It took several more days for the rock and patio work to be completed. His workers were removed on Thursday 12/11, with a promise that all remaining issues would be fixed on 12/12. As of today, 1/20, Luca is completely unresponsive, and our driveway damage has still not been repaired. My last text to Luca was sent on 1/13, clearly asking for a response by 1/15 with a plan and timeline for repairing the driveway. That message was never acknowledged. I gave him ample time and opportunity to make this right, which is the only reason this review is being posted now. Additionally, after we had our house painted, the painter pointed out that the stucco work on the new retaining wall was extremely rough and appeared to be very poor craftsmanship. Overall, this project was stressful, unfinished as promised, and left us with property damage and subpar work. We regret choosing A1 Hardscape and would not recommend them based on our experience.

I have been wanting turf in my backyard for quite some time, basically since I purchased the home…read morein 2023. Having two large dogs, it was a waste having a yard as big as mine as it was made entirely of desert rock. The previous owner had it done this way for the purpose of keeping it cheap and keeping it low maintenance during the years he lived here. Over the last few years after I purchased it, I got 3 quotes from 3 different companies to do a section of turf. I never committed to a company to do it because I didn't feel confident they could deliver what I wanted. Fast forward to two weeks, I met with Sean from Turf Monsters. After hearing my vision for the yard, he was quick about getting me their quote on the same day. Not only that, but he had an extensive knowledge of the kinds of turf they had that would fit my yard best, the process of whole installation, how to maintain it, etc. It wasn't a hard choice; I chose them to do my turf project feeling confident they would handle the job well. And did they ever! At my request, they managed to get my installation scheduled earlier than originally planned. Materials were dropped off and installers showed up as scheduled on the day they began. Every single encounter during the installation was professional and friendly. It took less than the original two-day quote for the 25'x30' area, the three man installation team finishing in only one day. And it turned out better than I had imagined it to! The bright green turf looks stunning with the original rock landscape against it. And the dogs are beyond happy with it, running around and wrestling on it, but also relaxing on it too as it doesn't get super hot in the sun. I've received so many compliments on it from neighbors and friends that have seen it, saying it completely changed the entire backyard for the better. I highly recommend this team to execute your turf desires! A job well done!

I paid to have brand new turf installed because I was told my existing turf needed to be replaced due to visible seams. After the job was completed, the new turf still has seams, which defeats the entire reason I agreed to replace it in the first place. I also paid for a completely new irrigation system, but it appears that it was never actually replaced. Many of the sprinklers still have the same old sprinkler heads and tops, yet the company insists the system was replaced. The visible evidence suggests otherwise. Additionally, I paid for repairs to my fire pit, and within three days the structure was already cracked again. The professionalism on-site was also lacking. During the job, the crew took a break for about an hour sitting on our personal lawn chairs and didn't even bother to put them back, and they left trash and debris behind when they finished. What's most frustrating is that I've reached out multiple times to have these issues addressed, and each time I've been pushed aside, given excuses, or told things that simply aren't true. At this point I feel like I paid a significant amount of money for work that was not completed as promised and was poorly executed. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience, and unfortunately I cannot recommend this company to others. Update. The owner has informed us that we will be receiving a refund that should have arrived today. If course it did not arrive, not is he answering any attempts to reconcile. This shows how crooked he is.
