The owner's wife Becky Rogers told me to ALWAYS test the wiring of a new/rental trailer by plugging it in to the tow vehicle prior to hitching it, without letting any of the metal of the trailer touch the metal of the tow vehicle (other than the 4-wire or 7-wire plug/jack). If all the trailer lights work (brakes/turn signals/running/parking), then it's OK to hitch up and tow.
