Owner Steve Pool came out and gave us a price to descale our pool and repair a few pool tiles. His guys came out the next day, were professional, knowledgeable and all around nice guys. They completed the job the same day. Super satisfied with the results and quick service. read more

What great results and a good experience! Steve Pool, Owner of American Tile Descaling, came out as scheduled to look at our job of descaling the pool tile, the bricks under the spills and the other brick walls that serve as seats around the pool. Steve had good suggestions about what we needed to do. His team did the work, and the tile and bricks offer us an almost new pool! Steve came back to check and went above-and-beyond to suggest a small change that would move our pool water better. What a difference he has made! Steve is extremely focused on details and very responsive to his customers. Thank you, Steve. I recommend you highly and without any reservations. read more

We had a couple of small earth quakes over the last 6 months which put several cracks in our pool and was losing water. We had a company come out and drain the pool and did what we thought was a repair job. 3 weeks later, more cracks showed up and the pool was leaking again. I asked a friend of mine that owns a pool company and he put me in touch with Steve Pool the owner of American Tile Descaling. Steve came out the same day I contacted him and did a thorough review of the cracks and put together a plan and quote right there standing in our empty pool. They use a new process that looks like your stapling a wound and was very interesting to watch and learn. His team are highly skilled and very good craftsmen. The work included a five year warranty which I felt very comfortable with. Steve is up front and honest and I would highly recommend he and his company for any pool repairs. read more

Steve and his crew refinished our pool slide earlier this year. In July, we noticed the finish was starting to peel off and I messaged Steve. He responded right away and came the next day (!) to re-sand and seal the slide. We were very pleased with his responsiveness and commitment to addressing the issue. Highly recommend! read more

I sought out Pool Tile cleaning as it was getting calcium buildup that would not clean. Got multiple quotes and then came across Steve's company. He came out right away and gave me a quote that gave me pause. It was an incredibly good price compared to other quotes. Usually, I don't go for the lowest price, but after engaging with Steve, I gave it a go. Glad I did as his workers did an amazing job of removing the calcium build up on my pool tiles. Also, I was discussing with him that my pool heater stopped working, and Leslie had looked at it and said I needed a new circuit board. After investigating, he found the injector was not working. He found the part for my old heater and replaced it. The cost was very reasonable and probably $500 less than Leslie's would have charged me if they had accurately diagnosed the problem. On the flip side, he saved me 4k, i.e., not having to buy a new heater. Ultimately, one of the better experiences I have had, and thus I highly recommend Steve and his company. read more

Steve is a stand up guy very talented and reasonable when it comes to pricing. He's one of the only guys I've found that was willing to replace my tile without doing the plaster of the pool as well. Highly recommend read more

We received a reco from a neighbor for ATD and are grateful for it! We needed a range of hardscape repairs and renovating in and around our pool and patio. Steve came by shortly after our call and talked us through various scenarios and solutions. He was really upfront about cost and time estimates and totally on top of making sure we were happy with the results. We've had most of the work done and its great! Now, we're just waiting for winter rains to abate and have our full patio resurfaced. Not only did Steve make sure to follow up on everything, his crew was excellent, the disturbance from the work was minimal and all done on time. Thanks Steve and American Tile Descaling. read more

Steve is one of the good guys. We had a problem with a pool crack repair that he did for me and he came back and went above and beyond to make it right. We ended up choosing to paint the pool and it turned out better than I could have hoped it would. Steve's team did a great job and the pool looks amazing. I also hired him to put in a new pool heater, chlorinator and filter and he did a great job. He knows his stuff. read more

Steve and the crew fixed and repainted the boulders of our pool. They did a great job and the pool looks fantastic. They redid the waterfall and it looks 10 times better. They worked with us until we were satisfied with the colors. Steve even did some electrical work to fix a pool light that was tripping. read more

We just had Steve redo the plumbing for our pool equipment. He and his workers were great. The craftsmanship of the work was flawless, and he troubleshot a separate plumbing issue that was discovered during the install. The pricing was fair, and Steve included a number of extra items that we were not charged for. What I appreciate most about Steve is how much pride he takes in his work. It felt like he was working on his own house! He's smart and super-approachable. I plan to use his company for years to come. Thanks Steve! Ian, Agoura Hills read more

Very happy with the work done for the Tile descaling as part of our remodel to our spa. Steve and his crew did an excellent job. They were very professional and took obvious pride in their work and made sure we were satisfied. The pricing was reasonable, and we would highly recommend them, and would definitely use them in the future. read more

Was contacted to do a estimate for tile de scaling for our pool and spa. Was sent a confirmation for the date and time the day before Josh was supposed to be at our home for the estimate. I am writing this five hours after the appointment time and have not received a text email or phone call to let me know that they were not able to make the appointment. This is not a way to run a business if we cannot even show up for the estimate. If they had confirmed less than 24 hours earlier. read more

Steve did a great job descaling my pool tile and stone. Highly recommended! After removing the scale he sealed the tile and stone and it looks brand new. I wish I would have done this several years ago! read more

Steve and his team were top notch. They did exactly what they said they would do and more. They even checked their work after it rained to be sure they delivered a perfect product. They driveway and walkway is indeed perfect. We are thrilled with the resurfacing. Choosing this route as opposed to redoing the concrete saved us thousands of dollars. We were so impressed with the results, we decided to do the same for our pool, which also is riddled with concrete cracks and uneven surfaces. We know American Tile and Descaling will do another fantastic job. read more

After 22 years of calcium build-up, our pool looked like new again! I can't stop looking at it, and can't wait to use it. The owner and employees couldn't have been nicer! I highly recommend. You won't be sorry you chose them. read more

Honestly, it would only have been 4 stars if it weren't for the extra things that Steve did to my pool without charging and tips he gave me to maintain a great looking pool. I will start with the quick negative, which is that they had to go back an extra day to finish the work and didn't communicate with me to inform me that they didn't finish, I had to call them. Plus, there scheduling is a little wacky, but I wasn't in a rush. The positives were that whenever I called or texted, Steve replied back within a few minutes. I know for a fact that I got the best price at removing the calcium from my tile and adding one of those color lights to my pool. I had about 5 other quotes and Steve's was close to half of what the lowest quote was. The results are so awesome, I couldn't help but give anything less than 5 stars. I can't comment on other peoples reviews, but I myself am very picky, but because of the way the pool came out looking, I have no complaints. Maybe in 6 months if something goes wrong I may complain, but if you don't see another post, its because everything worked out great. If I would have seen the Yelp review prior, I honestly probably would not have called him. Luckily, I used him because another person I called on Yelp with a high star rating said that I was out of his area and he referred clients in my area to Steve, who he said was excellent at removing the calcium. I didn't look his company up on Yelp, I just trusted this other guy, definitely not like me. Anyways, I have attached my pictures and you can see my results. He does free quotes, so I definitely would at least have him out to compare with other contractors. read more

Steve did electrical work for me, extending outdoors lines with GFI protectors. None of them work. He rarely showed up on the days that he said he would. He kept making commitments that he did not keep. I finally paid him and sent him on his was without completing the work. When he accepted the job, he never told me that he was just fitting me in when he had openings. I will never use him again. read more

We've used Steve and his crew for pond maintenance at our event facility for years. He has come to our rescue time and again when our motors or pumps went out before an event. I've called upon him at early AM and late PM to save our fountains which are a key focal point of our venue. You can count on this company to get the job done right! read more

Last year while out of town for several months I hired this company to install a Pentair automation system for my pool and spa. I paid them for the work but when I returned home I discovered that the air bubblers, booster pumps, spa heater, pool lights and an electrical outlet that powered the BBQ island were not working. This is in addition to disconnected bonding wires and other sundry electrical code violations. After weeks of trying to get the owner, Steve Pool, out to look at the issues, he finally arrived and agreed to come back in a week or so to fix the problems. The main reason the equipment was working was that he failed to install an expansion control panel that is required to operate the equipment. After waiting over 8 weeks for Steve to return to my home to finish the work that he had already been paid to do, I finally gave up and asked for a refund of the amount on the invoice for the expansion panel that was never installed. He said he needed some time to get the $640 that he owed me. Well, no surprise, months later, still no refund. I strongly recommend not doing business with this unscrupulous company. read more

Steve installed my heater and pump for my pool for more than $4,000. It never worked. After a YEAR of asking him to come out and diagnose the problem (he refused to do so for a YEAR), I hired another professional to look at it. He immediately discovered the Steve had installed the pipes backward, the out to the in, and the in to the out. The new guy re-plumbed the system, and it works fine now. He charged me $236 to come out and fix it. I sent the invoice and photos of the defects and repairs to Steve for reimbursement. He has just ignores me and refuses to reimburse me for the repairs, which were caused by his defective work. Now I have to sue him for $235. Nice. read more

I had Stephen descale the tile around my pool. The pool is 30 years old and had never been done so there was quite a lot of build up. I couldn't be happier with the results. The tile looks like new. He also gives a nice discount to veterans. He is very busy so scheduling can be tricky but he does great work. read more

American Tile Descaling does a phenomenal job descaling pool tile. We installed a dark chocolate glass pool tile approximately eight years ago. Unfortunately, the saltwater pool and the elements cause the pool tile to become white and chalky. Steve Pool blasts and cleans my tile year after year restoring the beauty of the glass tile. He is extremely knowledgeable in pools and products necessary to keep your pool looking pristine! I highly recommend this service to anyone that needs their pool tile cleaned! read more

I see my review of Steve Pool and American Tile Descaling has been taken down. Steve's work on my pool was substandard. I had to write a review on YELP to get him to come back out and repair my pool. Two months later the pool repair is failing. I contacted Steve to come back and repair his repair and I was basically told to go screw myself. Please, please do not use this company. read more

Steve and his crew did an amazing job stripping and resurfacing our pool slide. My 4 sons are in heaven now and are riding the slide over and over and over. Nice craftsmanship, too - the slide blends into the hillside nicely and is very fast. I would definitely ask Steve again to fix anything related to my pool or side. If I could figure out how to post pictures or a video I would. read more
