Around November 7th, 2022. I contacted the Red Cross after my father died. I was requesting help getting my nephew, sent home for the funeral. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and concern that was given. They immediately contacted my nephews, commanding officer, and made sure he could get the time off of work. I received an email the next morning, telling me that they had contacted his commanding officer. They contacted me by telephone after to make sure that he, had sufficient funds for his air line ticket, and if he needed help getting a ride to the airport. I received a call and email asking if everything was taken care of and if there was anything else that they could do to assist us. During this time I'm sorry I didn't write and say how wonderful they were.
Today I received a questionnaire, asking me how they did. I n thinking about this I realized they really deserved a big shout out. So if you're thinking about donating to an organization, I would recommend the Red Cross wholeheartedly. This is a change in my mindset due to my families dislike of the Red Cross over the years for something that happened I believe in World War II! Or Korean conflict! Times change people change organizations change, and this one is definitely improved.
