We were on vacation in Pigeon Forge, a friend and me are big on getting impromptu tattoos. We researched some places and came across American Rebel Tattoo, reviews on google were great, so we headed in. They have a 'get what you get machine' I was so excited to get a random tattoo. I paid the $125, and was so excited to get a ghost. While speaking with the artist, Gina, she revealed she had only been tattooing for about a year, but assured me that she wouldn't be working here 'if they didn't know what I was doing'. We unfortunately went ahead with the tattoo. I was speaking to my friend, we were going back and forth for her idea because she was going to go next. She wiped me down and when the tattoo was revealed I'm sure my face said it all. It's extremely shaky , overlapped lines, horrible. Gina said she could 'fix the lines by shading more' , like noooo. I left immediately. I'll take the L, and get it covered eventually. Lesson learned read more

Do Not Go Here!! It's a tourist trap for expensive crappy tattoos. I got mine a week ago, followed every instruction and it looks like crap now! it's even the wrong design (which I should've noticed) but didn't think you could possibly screw it up. Lines and some basic flowers. Now I live 7 hours away and paid $135 for this tattoo that I am going to have to pay more to have an experienced tattoo artist fix it because I'm not driving 7 hours. Please do not take this review lightly. My friend and I decided on getting a tattoo while we were on vacation in Pidgeon Forge for the weekend. made an appointment with someone named Earl. When we got there, I got a very bad vibe. No art on the walls, no books to look at, Earl certainly didn't introduce himself to me, he just said: "what do you want?" I told him I wanted some billowing, colorful smoke as filler behind some other tats I have. He giggled (didn't notice that he was high AF at the time). Long story short, he completely butchered my arm, it looks like someone punched me in the shoulder a bunch of times and gave me bruises. Now I have to find a shop at home that can fix it. I showed the owner what he did to me and got a refund. No apology though. Please stay far away. read more

I went there for my first tattoo ever. I described the tattoo I wanted, and had drawings. After two hours of working with the artist I became frustrated and greatly disappointed that he could not design the simple image I wanted. It was a small simple silhouette of 3 bear cubs and mom, and a tree, and a moon. He just couldn't get it right! I do not want the bears to look like Mickey Mouse or a pig! The wife and I wanted to get tattoos while in the area on vacation. I picked this shop after reading reviews on a number of shops around the area. I already had 9 tattoos and dont just go anywhere. This was the first time we kind of just went for it. We were able to get right in and get our tattoos and leave in about an hour and a half. We each got lyrics which were only four words. The girl at the counter seemed like she didnt really care who we were or whether or not we were there. I attributed it to the fact that they probably get alot of out of town people and I read so many comments of people complaining about pricing or quality. Either way our artist was Navada who did a great job. Friendly to talk to while he was tattooing. We are happy with the product and hopefully they heal well. I'm updating my review for my fiancé's tattoo. Mine turned out great and healed nicely. Thanks Eric! My fiancé's, however, looks pretty bad. There are some blank spots in the tattoo where it looks like Ruben tattooed too deep (it is an all-black solid symbol) so when it healed, the skin completely flaked off. He will need to have someone touch it up where we live in NJ. read more

10/10 would NOT recommend. Found this studio on a Google search for the area. While in Pigeon Forge visiting, we called on 5/1 and were told that the studio was booked for the day. We stopped by the studio to check things out, glance through some books, and chatted with the lady at the counter. We had a group of three people all with established tattoos looking to add another. We were told that the one tattoo would have to be done by Chelsie and made an appointment for the next day at 11 am. We placed a $75 deposit to hold the 11 AM appointment. We were told that another artist would be in at 11 but he didn't take appointments and only did walk-ins. He also had a shoulder injury and was not able to do certain tattoos, although they were not clear on what the range was. We were trying to get a second person in to get a simple outline tattoo. The third person wanted a butterfly, and she was told that because of the coloring, that it could only be done after 5pm on 5/2, and that Chelsie would have to do this as well. Due to our set departure time of 6 PM, this was not possible. Upsetting, but understandable. We arrived before 11 AM on 5/2. The lady at the counter seemed very unsure of what was going on. I asked about getting a tattoo with the artist that had a shoulder injury and she advised that he currently had several appointments, but he was eating first before he started on them. The artist then came out of the office and heated up his food, and went to eat. We were just told the previous day he didn't make appointments. This was frustrating. Initially, I wanted a distressed flag on the calf. He came out and said that I would need to find exactly what I wanted and show him, but that doing a flag was likely not even possible for him. I really felt like I was bothering him and preventing him from eating because I had questions. A flag was too complicated so at the moment I just wanted to know what he could do as I did really want to get a tattoo with the group. After this, I too gave up on getting a tattoo. The two of us were going to leave and go shopping while the third got a tattoo. I asked the lady at the counter if I needed to pay for the tattoo as we were going to leave and come back. She just seemed confused as to what I was asking. The third person of our group of three was immediately greeted by Chelsie whom he had an appointment with at 11 AM. She asked if he was her 11 AM appointment and he confirmed. She was talking with another male, not in our group about getting a tattoo when we arrived. She never said that she would be late, or apologized for the delay. After an hour past the scheduled appointment time, my friend decided against getting his selected tattoo. When he expressed that he was leaving and asked for a refund he was told that they don't give refunds. They apparently also don't have a watch or respect the time of others. The reason given for no refund, in this case, was that they had poured the ink, and it was expensive. I do understand that ink is costly. I found it odd that they would pour the ink before the client was present. I am in no way a tattoo artist but have several tattoos, and this has never been the practice. I have called several times to speak with a manager regarding a refund of my money. Each time, they are not available. I feel as though I paid for an appointment time and did not get what I paid for, and thus due back the money I paid for a deposit. I have emailed them and am awaiting a response. I will likely have to submit a chargeback case with Visa to get my money back. There are other tattoo shops in the vicinity, and I would strongly consider doing business elsewhere. After looking at other reviews, it seems that the rude attitude is the baseline for this establishment. read more

Apparently it got stuck or couldn't fully go through, I'm not sure. All I know is my friend was stuck for a while in some pain and they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. However, my cartilage afterwards went well and is healing nicely. So, I guess I just would not reccomend a nose piercing here. read more

The guy who works here is super nice and a accommodating, he even offered to get us something from the market next door while my sister's artist was sketching her tattoo. He also offered to share his deep fried Mac n cheese Cheeto things from Burger King once we entered. The female artist (long brown hair, gauges, glasses) is awesome too, I couldn't afford the price they quoted me at, so she worked with me on it. I got my nose pierced and my husband wanted a small tattoo. When we walked in, we waited at the front desk for like 5 minutes while 3 people sat behind the counter just ignoring us. My husband had questions about the placement of his tattoo and the artist made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience to answer them. After we paid, the artist's entire demeanor changed to happy and helpful. He pierced my nose and I have no complaints about that- it looks good and is healing nicely. My husband's tattoo is shaky and uneven and he will be getting it fixed by another artist when it heals. We also paid almost twice as much as we would have at places local to us, but it was vacation and spur of the moment so we didn't mind paying. read more

I've been to American Rebel three times. I went on recommendation of several friends to see Eric Williams. He was nothing but professional and kind, and also very patient with me, as I have a tendency to move a little and talk excessively when I'm nervous. He made me feel at ease, and his work is phenomenal! I recommend him to a lot of people. He is very prompt with tattoo designs and offers great suggestions for detail on his pieces. He's reasonably priced and extremely talented. If you love American Traditional pieces, this is your guy!! That's not the only style he does though. He's a very well-rounded artist. This tattoo parlor may be the MOST rude and unprofessional "business" that I have EVER stepped foot in, in my life. My fiancé and I walked in hoping to get his first tattoo tonight. We walked in and there was a big group of people there and many of them were getting tattoos and we were willing to wait for them to get done and then have the ignorant girl at the counter help us. We waited for almost an hour with NOT ONE person even acknowledging that we were there. FINALLY after the huge group of people were done we thought we would finally be helped.... NO. Instead the little idiot they put at the counter continued to act like we were not even in the shop, even looking right at us and STILL saying nothing. I finally spoke up and asked "Sooo are you all not doing anymore tattoos tonight???" She then looked up from her IPhone that was obviously more important than our business, and said "it depends on how big it is...." IT WAS GOING TO BE AN 8 LETTER TATTOO. Then she told us well it would be another hour and a half before someone could do the tattoo..... SERIOUSLY. She could have said "oh hey guys, I'm sorry but I don't think we are gonna get to y'all tonight" or at least told us how long it was going to be before we waited for an hour or just said ANYTHING AT ALL TO US. I would NEVER go to this place again. No wonder they are cheap! They should pay the costumers that come there just to deal with the girl at the front desk!!
