We were on our last two days of vacation, walked in to black orchid && made an appointment for later that day. They were already pretty busy! So I suggest the earlier you get in the door, the better!! We had Raven as our artist. AND GIRL!!!! TALK ABOUT LOVEEEEEEE!!! She's literally amazing!! Super duper sweet, very talkative, && hella funny!! She also uses saniderm, which I truly prefer in the healing process! I WILL be coming back here to get more done by her!! 10/10 would recommend!!!!!! read more

ZERO RECOMMEND! Most tattoo places are the same as this one... they all act put out by you and lazy. It's like they literally don't want to bounce ideas with you or do something even so simple. I wanted a vine on my ribs, long and thin, he told me I'd have to find something on Google basically. Which I did. And still, just hateful. Like, I'm trying to PAY YOU $500 probably. Also- prices are ridiculous, $115 for a wrist tattoo the size of a quarter. My kids were with me while my husband got his 30- second tattoo for $115. And the receptionist very rudely told me they could be there. Don't go here! read more

Kino at the front desk was absolutely stellar in helping out this virgin. He was patient fun and friendly. My mom group and I wish him the best of luck in his future as an artist. Shane was quiet and standoffish when he did my tat, but his work.., I cannot complain. great job. place is a bit pricey. $100 minimum. so if you want something small, go elsewhere. read more

While in Gatlinburg I decided to go gets a nose piercing. I went into a tattoo shop and they highly recommended black orchid for piercings. Black orchid is located in pigeon forge. When I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist who was extremely friendly. I filled out a form and paid and she had me take a seat. It was probably less than 5 minutes before I was called back. The guy who did my piercing was names Sal. He was super nice and friendly. He explained the procedure to me. The piercing was so quick and easy and he made sure that I was comfortable. I would highly recommend black orchid for piercings and ask for Sal. My piercing was $45. A little bit more than what I expected but totally worth it. read more

Courtney. The reason why i decide not to do your neck tattoo is because it wasn't for me to do your tattoo , most likely because was a difficult one or something that would of took too long to get done, every artist has the right to accept to do a tattoo or walk away from it , it all depends on the situation and how comfortable the artist feels about it, whatever business you own or you are running it is not one bit close to a tattoo shop and how different things are manage, ,, because i decided not to do your neck tattoo and told you the truth you go head and speak negative of me and my job,, ,,,? so is it your way or trash who ever doesn't agree with you???? You sound more like a person that likes to create problems instead of finding solutions, by all means I was being polite and respectfull ,in a human way I explained you that your tattoo require more than one cession and that I had lots of things in my agenda ,, as far as timing for the next cession we would of bump heads because of my agenda was full with other responsibilities ,, as far as preparing myself for coming up season meaning that I can only work on difficult projects in certain time of the year ,, this is a tourism area and we do lots of medium and small tattoos.. we do not work on big projects all the time nor the neck tattoo you wanted,, in all your review you sound very negative and I didn't do anything to you ... maybe you shouldnt be so mean to others around you. peace read more

I have always wanted a tattoo. At 56 I decided it was now or never. After visiting a pretty sketchy tattoo place in Gatlinburg I was ready to give up. Thankfully I discovered black orchid in pigeon forge. The woman at the desk was so kind and helpful. Didn't make me feel stupid for all my questions. She then hooked me up with the perfect tattoo artist for me, Raven. Raven listened to me and helped me to feel confident with the whole process. She did an amazing job. The tattoo is exactly as I wanted and is healing nicely! This place is clean and well organized. Very professional. read more

I'm a tattoo enthusiast, local chick and have been looking for a great tattoo shop for some time now. A friend of mine recently had a tattoo done here and it turned out great, so I thought I would give them a try. Well, my experience was not what I had imagined. I walked in to get a consult for a neck tattoo, the girl at the front desk was very nice but the tattoo artist I spoke with put a really bad taste in my mouth. Not sure what his name is he had a mohawk, he explains to me how great my tattoo idea is but turned my business away bc, 1 he had to get ready for the season coming up and didn't have the time as it would require more then one sitting, 2 he had legal matters to take care of (what that has to do with giving someone a tattoo I will never know), and 3 he's lazy (his words not mine) WTF!? Buddy you just turned away great business, by that, I mean a repeat customer! Oh then he proceeded to tell me that no one around the area would want to do my tattoo. I'm a business owner myself and this is NO WAY to run a business. I will be sure to tell everyone NOT to get a tat at Black Orchid! Thanks! read more

Was very excited to get matching wedding date tats on our honeymoon. Paid 85$ each and took about 10min per tattoo. My husband's looks great and he went first. Mine doesn't look too great and I felt it was rushed. I plan on going to my tattoo artist here once it's fully healed, for a touch-up. Just a warning to anyone who may choose this place. read more

last year I spent a lot of money on getting a sleeve tattoo. the one doing my work said that I could come In to get it filled in where ink had faded. Well when I did he expected me to pay more money. When said it should be part of what I paid already he never contacted me back. I'm very disappointed in the shop. If I've already paid at least $2000 I should have my arm completed but here it is still not finished. i want everyone to know that that don't foll through with what they say. I'm local so I'm trying to get word out to all that if you are in town I strongly suggest you check out other shops. read more

Honesty I don't advise getting work done by Bruce Lee (co-owner and artist) Considering the fact that he denied my business because I had Hepatitis cured with liver treatment in 2018 making me pay a deposit and out of pocket blood work to prove it (Hepatitis) not detected by lab work before (his boss) would allow him to work on me after doing what he asked providing him with paper work stating (not detected) he still denied me so my advice is to not be honest on your paper work like hundred of other do daily if you set out to get work from this coward if he would do his job by protocol then he wouldn't have to worry about being exposed to none existing blood born illnesses just FYI read more

Wish there was zero stars because that's what they deserve. the guy at the counter was super nice but all of the artists were complete assholes especially the manager. Horrible artist they couldn't even do a simple tattoo without blowing it up 200% and would make go all the way around my leg. I bought a tattoo gun from amazon knowing absolutely nothing and I've done that tat on pigs skin. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! read more

Walked in everyone's eating pizza, ok cool no biggie I gotta eat when I'm working as well. But while the girl was helping find the font needed shes still holding her pizza ‍‍ ok so I turn around and my boyfriend has just paid $95 for "000" ok wow! So I ask what an hour goes for and I'm told $100. Ok cool so you saw a tourist coming. Then the whole tattoo is messed up. Like freaking really!! How do you mess up something so simple?! I hope this place is out of business next time we come to town. read more

Was in town this weekend and my boyfriend wanted a tattoo to remember the trip by. I could cry for him. Not only did he over pay but the tattoo was rushed through and looks horrible. When you have to tell someone what it is supposed to be that's not good. He's embarrassed to show it to anyone. It's definitely the worst tattoo he has now. The shading is so patchy the tattoo looks 100 years old already. The lines are harsh and there's no blending technique. Once it's healed were going in to a good shop to see if they can in any way make it resemble a pine cone. read more
