When we wake up, Cine asks what the plans for the day are and offers suggestions that we always take. They both take pride in the Lodge and the surrounding community. The rooms are clean and well cared for as well as the property. If you want to stay with them, call them, message them or book through their website for the best prices rather than using a third party booking agent. Sometimes the 3rd party doesn't have the codes or the excellent customer service that they offer. They are our home away from home and we're so happy we found them.

We really wish there had been an outdoor area with a table or lounge furniture to be able to sit outside in the morning or evenings. We stayed in the more rustic rooms with outside entry. The door never seemed to latch/seal well and was loud. Beds were comfortable enough but moved a lot and the A/C worked overtime to keep the room cool. We didn't hear much from other rooms or from outside. The towels are very small and it should be standard to include a few more (especially for a two bed room). While parking is limited, it's convenient to be able to park outside your room for the most part. Hot water was good for the most part--there was one night where the shower would not stay hot but I think maybe a lot of people were using it at the same time. It was nice to have breakfast included but it doesn't start until 7am--this was too late if you want to get an early start to any of the area parks. It would be nice for it to start at 6:00 or 6:30am. While there's a coffee maker in the rooms, it's a small cup and would be nice if coffee in the lobby/breakfast area was also available earlier (before 7:00am).

The very small refrigerator was sitting on the floor with the microwave on top of it. I dropped some crumbs on the floor on the first night, the cleaning staff did not vacuum it up before we left after two more nights; and we did leave a tip for the cleaning staff each day. The water drainage in the sink smelled each night when we returned from the day's outings. The price was very economical, I should have taken that as a clue, however, the reviews were excellent so we took a chance. I would not stay here again.

Breakfast, which was included, included cold cereal, oatmeal with several toppings, eggs, sausage patties, and potatoes. There was also a machine that made pancakes. There were also several types of bread to toast. The juice machine had a couple different juices and the regular and decaf coffees were good. A lactose-free/non-dairy milk would have been nice. The hotel also had a swimming pool, a game room, and laundry facilities. It was walking distance to several restaurants including Halley's, a pizza place, Subway, bagel place, coffee, and a wine bar.

We learned quickly to walk with our heads down, which was good considering how many people do not clean up after their animals, even though the hotel had bags and trash cans at each end of the dog walk. People clean up after your pets, you're so gross! Also, dog fee is only $20/night per dog. The hot breakfast was your average hot hotel breakfast. The dining area was clean. The hot cereal bar and waffle bar were nice. The coffee was just okay. Now for check in, let me start off with everyone was very nice, the whole staff really nice people. But at check in the young lady working there never mentioned that there was parking and entrances by our room. Which would make load in so much easier. Instead she said,"yeah, just bring it straight back". Then another couple came dragging their luggage, they were looking for a working elevator, because no one told them there was actually parking on the third floor to walk straight in. So weird not to tell people where to park upon checking in. But we found close parking to our entrance so no harm no foul. Next, our room was clean, well, not as clean as last night's hotel but the bed and linens were clean. The room straight up smells, real bad and it's so muggy. I thought we were in the desert but something is wrong with the amount of moisture in that room. We had to freeze just to try and control the moisture level. The front desk manager got on the phone and called everyone she knew to try and assist us. The other front desk manager Sheila and her husband Neil who is the maintenance man for the hotel actually drove us and our tire to Rapid City and waited with us to get it fixed. We actually ended up taking them to dinner since it took so long. The people here are so nice.
