Tammy and Cine offer keyless entry, the BEST customer service and are always just a phone call/text away. When we wake up, Cine asks what the plans for the day are and offers suggestions that we always take. They both take pride in the Lodge and the surrounding community. The rooms are clean and well cared for as well as the property. If you want to stay with them, call them, message them or book through their website for the best prices rather than using a third party booking agent. Sometimes the 3rd party doesn't have the codes or the excellent customer service that they offer. They are our home away from home and we're so happy we found them.

The parking is limited so if it gets really busy, I don't think they can fit all of the vehicles for the room. There are hotels that are closer to downtown, but since downtown is not that big, it wasn't that much of a priority for us.

Breakfast, which was included, included cold cereal, oatmeal with several toppings, eggs, sausage patties, and potatoes. There was also a machine that made pancakes. There were also several types of bread to toast. The juice machine had a couple different juices and the regular and decaf coffees were good. A lactose-free/non-dairy milk would have been nice. The hotel also had a swimming pool, a game room, and laundry facilities. It was walking distance to several restaurants including Halley's, a pizza place, Subway, bagel place, coffee, and a wine bar.

After about 30 minutes the TV again stopped working, so we gave up on getting it fixed. The old bathroom was a decent size. The halls everywhere we walked smelled of a really strong bleach odor. This is the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. There was complimentary breakfast, which was what one would normally expect. The front desk was personally courteous to our complaints. We can't recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

We selected the deluxe family cabin which was the perfect size for 2 of us but easily fits 4 with a pull out couch. If we had kids, they would have loved the upstairs loft (too small for adults). We loved opening up all the windows and having fresh air blow in during the day and for our sleeps. We dined twice at the Powder House Restaurant because the food was outstanding and the proximity was clutch. The cherry on top was the fact our puppy could join us. Thank you, Powder House Lodge! The front desk manager got on the phone and called everyone she knew to try and assist us. The other front desk manager Sheila and her husband Neil who is the maintenance man for the hotel actually drove us and our tire to Rapid City and waited with us to get it fixed. We actually ended up taking them to dinner since it took so long. The people here are so nice.

The dining area is adjacent to the front desk in the lobby and I will say it was packed with people eager to see the monument. Beds were hard ( got about 2-3 hours of sleep total) and our room we found two bugs on our bed. Not bedbugs but some bugs we had never seen before. Ac is very loud which we liked since we normally sleep with fans on. Inside wasn't the cleanest, there was literally blood stains on the wall near the bathroom door. Overall wouldn't stay here again! Even with the veterans discount we paid almost $160 for our room.
