Did not complete my home. As an older person, I wanted to make some changes that jacob was not happy with, ready and willing to pay for the changes. My mother died suddenly of Covid and I thought getting my house painted a new color by a professional would be a good project to take my mind off my grief. Jakob had power washed my mom's house for $250, taking 2-3 hours, so I hired him to paint my house. He said to ignore the bad yelp reviews, as they were not true. He also said he had a crew of experienced painters and would make sure they were available to paint my house, so I gave him a $5,000 deposit. Big mistake. He showed up with just himself and a young inexperienced kid who's only job was to pick up paint chips! I was charged $50 per hour for this kid! Never agreed to pay $50/hour for a young kid in training; $50/hr was supposed to be for professional painters! First day was 5 hours of power spraying the house, driveway and half the garage. Next day Jakob worked 1.5 hours. Following day Jakob worked 4.5 hours scraping half the house and half the garage while the kid picked up paint chips. Last day he was here Jakob worked 2 hours, spray staining the fence the wrong color while the kid held the hose. That's it! 13 Hours of work plus a few hours of actual work for the kid for $5,000? There is no way power spraying and scraping half the house/garage and staining a small fence could possibly take 70+ hours!!! There were no "experienced painters" to do my windows and a professional job as originally promised. Jakob power washed my house and driveway and spray painted my little fence the wrong color. We got into an argument over the color which was supposed to be light oak, not Red Cedar and because he wanted to paint my house all "flat" and I wanted the trim and shutters in satin (semi-gloss) for looks and easier cleaning. He said NO and walked away, yelling at me, acting extremely unprofessional. Never got my deposit back. All he did was less than 15 hours of actual work and train the kid on how to power washing a driveway. Other than that the kid picked up paint chips or waited for Jakob to show up. Now I have to take Jakob and his company to court for refund of deposit and damages he did to my house. He cut big chunks of wood out of the side of my house, cut down one of my pine trees and butchered the rest, and also painted my fence the wrong color. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!! Didn't show up every day - project was never completed - charged for material that was never used (crown molding and door kick plate still sitting in the garage) - said he knew how to do crown molding, definitely didn't. Completely disappointed, would never use or recommend to anyone. read more

Buyer beware. He charges you every time he does anything to your walls regardless of whether or not he did the wall right the first time, which he didn't, and then gets angry with you when you question him about the additional cost. He was very unclear about this in the beginning simply saying he charges $25.00 per hour. He provided an estimate which he then increased by 50% when it was time to pay the bill. He didn't finish two walls properly and charged me for them again. I would never hire him again. His words "One thing I've learned after 20 years in business is that people are dishonest." I see that as a real problem for him. AND he said you probably didn't realize this but I record every conversation so I have proof of what was said. Not even sure that's legal. read more

Came out and gave an estimate in February, 2019 and said he would start work the first week of March. We never heard from him so we contacted him in March and he said he was behind and needed to catch up the outside work from the year before and said he'd be ready in June. It's now August and we've never heard from him. The only time we had any contact was when we initiated it. It's August and it's safe to say we've contacted someone else to do the work. I'm pretty sure he never intended to do the work and doesn't have the knowledge or skill. read more

It was a pleasure to have Jakob perform several tasks for us recently. He has many skills--excellent painting job, electrical repairs, installed 4 new ceiling fans (including a 20-foot-high fan) and 5 light fixtures, improved two malfunctioning closet doors, caulking, etc. He completed everything we asked him to do, and we felt his price was appropriate. read more
