Very disappointing and dishonest experience. I purchased a dress about 9-10 days ago as a gift and clearly told the salesperson that I was not sure about the size. I specifically asked about the return policy, and I was told I had 14 days to return it. This was also written on the receipt. At no point was I informed that this item was a final sale. The dress was never worn, still had all tags attached, was returned in the original packaging, and I had the receipt. I did not even ask for a refund I only requested a simple size exchange (from M to S). Despite this, they refused and suddenly claimed the item was final sale. If an item is final sale, that must be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. Writing "14 days return" on the receipt while later refusing an exchange is misleading and unacceptable. This feels like deceptive business practice, and I would not trust this store again. I strongly caution others to be very careful before purchasing here. read more

Someone used my stolen credit card information here. The worst part is that my credit card company said the employees were probably in on the fraud since they tried swiping my card several times despite the transactions getting rejected. At the end of the day, TWO separate transactions of nearly $200 each were allowed to go through by the employee. Have been in here before over the past few years since they moved sides in the mall. It is the typical environment run by teen girls/young women. I have yet to see a grown up here in the store, but I could just be missing them due to timing. Came in this past Friday evening (7/21/23) with both of my girls (one teen and the other under double-digits). There were at least 4 girls running the store; two at the registers, one in the fitting room and at least another one somewhere throughout the store. We were in the store all of 20 min or so. Walked around for less than 10, then my teen found something to try on. We go to the fitting room where one of the girls with bright red-red hair was letting people in. I never leave my teen alone in the fitting room, I don't care how old she is. I waited outside her fitting room with my youngest. As I waited, a young woman came into the fitting room with clothes flung over her arm and asked the girl with the red hair something. The girl walked out and then returned in the fitting room with her boyfriend, they entered a fitting room together down toward the end. I was FUMING. I kept my cool and waited for my teen to finish trying on her two items, I could not react erratically or rash, as I was with my kids. Other women came in and out of the rooms as the time passed. When my daughter finished, and we were heading out another worker walked into the fitting room area. I walked over to the girl with the red hair and asked if they always let men into the fitting room. She nervously said no, to the other employees surprise she said "there's a man in here" and I said Yes, she let him in. The girl with the red hair acted as if she didn't know and told the other girl, "go, go tell them". I proceeded to tell the red haired girl, that she is the one who let him in and said it was ok.. that there are underage/teen girls that come into this store to shop and try on clothes, and that I didn't care if it was someone's boyfriend or someone's husband, that it was extremely dangerous and a liability. As we were waiting in line to purchase our items, one of the girls from the back walkie-talkied the girls up front and said the couple was having sex in the fitting room!! I nearly lost it!! I told the girl up front "do you even have a manager here? You need to take that up with the girl with the red hair, cuz she's the one who let him in." I asked if she could hurry up and ring us, cuz I wanted my girls out of there. I didn't want any confrontation, nor did I want the police to show up and my younger daughter be freaked out by it (that's even if they would call the police) One of the ladies in line ahead of us, took the tag from my daughter's dress we were getting, and paid for her dress so we could leave. I appreciated that she seen the urgency and it was extremely kind of her, but I was still sooo infuriated!! Still trying to locate the manager or who to contact about the situation. read more

Great sales, great clothes! OH GOODNESS, I have found my new FAVORITE store! So have you ever walked into a store and been like "Boom, that's exactly what I was looking for". Then you looked at the price and your eyes got SO big because it was SO cheap?! Well... This is what happened to me the other day when walking in here! I walked in and I was looking for an outfit as ALWAYS! I seen the "Grand opening" sign and just knew they had deals! I was amazed at their selection. Went in to exchange some items that were a little too big for me. They have a store credit only 3 day policy, which is puzzling seeing as how other small businesses are extending their return policy due to the current COVID shelter in place policies of CA (store credit 100% understandable). Their return policy used to be 14 days, which I know because I shop there frequently. I went to the store to see if they'd give me a break since I'm only 3 days over their exchange policy and I don't live/work super close. The checker noticed that it was 3 days over their policy and said she could not do it. I told her the clothes are in perfect condition, I only wanted to exchange for a smaller size, and that I would probably buy more stuff if they could do me the courtesy. She said no exceptions. I asked to speak to a manager and she said the manager wasn't even there (even though there were clearly at least 5 employees on the floor). I let her know that they've lost my business which is a shame because they have great clothes for a good price. First time visiting this mall and store. First impression of the mall itself, FILTHY. The American One store has a great selection of clothing and accessories. The young teens working in the store need to re-evaluate their attitudes and sass. There was about 3 girls running around putting clothing back on the racks, the store was not busy whatsoever. I was standing by the dressing rooms for about 10 minutes waiting for a associate.. I made eye contact with 2 of the girls running around the store, neither gave me the okay to walk in or told me they would be right with me. From the looks of the signs posted everywhere in the dressing room it seems as though they don't want anyone just walking in. So I waited. After a few more minutes I had enough and went in to a open room and tried on my stuff. Once I was done trying on the clothes I could hear all 3 girls in the dressing room gossiping and fooling around. The register experience is another story. The young lady meant well but she needs to listen to the customer first before doing anything and also engaging with the customer would make a better impression. Not boasting about how she is "Key Holder" and that she could go back to "being mean" and strict to her co workers. Come on, I had to say hello to her half way through my transaction just to have a conversation with her. How can a clothing store not allow an exchange or a refund? My first time shopping here, I bought six blouses but one of them was a large size mistakenly taken instead of a small/ medium size. I took that back within 7 days with receipt but they refused an exchange, stating they don't allow exchange on clearances at all. When we walked in, there were two girls being very open about their personal romantic relationship with one another (Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against same sex relationships or anything), but there is a time and place for everything and WORK is neither. I would highly recommend management to separate those two employee's shifts so that that doesn't continue to happen. They didn't even greet us on our way in ! Considering that the employees at the Antioch location (no yelp page yet but owned by same tool, David Chung totally rude and off the mark will get to that later) told me that we were informed of their lack luster return policy. Which is not marked clearly an covered up by the random junk on their counter and by junk I mean the what they sell. Well they said I was told because the owner was who rung up my husband and daughter who have both confirmed that a woman rang them up. Even the owner admitted to leaving himself logged on the registers. Then the staff including the manager on site said that all they could give us is store credit and that it DOES NOT EXPIRE well you read the receipt and it says 30 DAYS TO USE OR IT EXPIRES well I give the manager a call and he then tells me that they all were not trained right and it is a training issue that the whole store is not trained right and he will work on them with it. I ask how does that help me? He says basically it is not his problem and that there is no way that they can help me. Dude is shady to say the least seems to be making it up as he goes. And all this is because they were selling leggings that were advertised as PANTS 3 for $10. My 11 year old daughter and husband do not have a clue on the difference between the two.
