Highly recommended. I would definitely use them again. I asked 4 other movers to estimate my job (5 bedroom house) and they all fell by the wayside because either they could not provide detailed references from past customers (the usual, "oh, we have to protect the confidentiality of our customers" which means then don't have references), or their pricing was way over what I received from the owner of American Movers. Upon my request, he immediately provided the names and contact numbers for 5 recent customers, his DOT number, Motor Carrier number, and a copy of his insurance policy. I recommend them because: 1. He and his team showed up. There are a number of movers in Wichita who don't, leaving you high and dry (and without recourse). 2. Team members were courteous, careful, checked and double checked that everything was placed in our new home exactly as we wished. 3. Not *one* piece of glassware, or furniture was damaged. 4. Boxes were stacked in the truck and in our storage room as requested (heavy on the bottom). Again, we mention it once, and all team members remember. 5. The owner is highly ethical and teaches his team by example. For example, he taught us how to pack our clothes (using pads) to save time and money. 6. The time taken came in under the estimate, so we were charged the lower figure. This is as good as it gets. read more

These guys are spectacular. Please read this. My aging parents were relocating from a 2/2 duplex to a new condo, and I live out of state. My mother thought she'd be helpful and contacted 2 Men and a Truck. Those whackadoodles must have thought it was a prime opportunity to take advantage of a little old lady, and quoted her $3500 to pack and move their small home, in town, after doing a virtual facetime walk through with her. Mom shared this with me and told her - "no friggin way, I'll handle it." That's when I came onto yelp and/or Google and found these guys. I called, and without seeing anything he told me he thought packing would be around $1200 and moving around $900. Then he followed up with a facetime walkthrough the next morning with mom. So, being older folks on a fixed income, we opted to have friends and family go pack them up, and these guys handle the move. When all was said and done, they only charged them $630 dollars. I was blown away. The level of integrity, care, and professionalism they exhibited in moving my folks was noteworthy. They called when they said they would. Showed up when they said they would. Handled the move efficiently, and then came in under their original estimate. People like this deserve all the word of mouth they can get. Excellent work fellas. Something to be proud of. I used this company today because I called around Wichita and everywhere else was so high priced. After reading tons of reviews I decided this was the company from me. I contacted the owner John who was very nice and assisting me with all of my questions. I was able to get in on a discounted rate which also helped. My move was actually scheduled to happen on a Tuesday but I noticed on Saturday the weather was going to be terrible on the Move day. So I contacted John and asked if he would be available on Monday to complete the move. He was very prompt to return my text saying he would have two guys there at 8:30 in the morning on Monday. The guys were on time, very professional, did not just stand around and talk or waste time. The move went fairly fast and everything made it to the new location perfectly. Excellent customer service from start to finish and affordable prices. Today was literally the day of my move and I have already referred them to several other people and will continue to do so. Out of all the moving companies I've used in the past this one has been the best in terms of ease to work with. read more

American Movers were wonderful to work with. I initially talked to Jon, the owner, and he described how his company works and the cost structure. We agreed upon a date and time and his crew of three men arrived on time to help me unload an ABF Freight interstate trailer; which originated in Indiana, and was dropped off at our new home in Wichita, KS. The three men worked hard for 3 hours and I had to encourage them to take a break because the temperature on that August afternoon here in Wichita was 103 degrees, and even hotter inside the 28' ABF trailer. Terrin, Allen and Rylin did a great job for my wife and I. In fact, no way could we have been successful without the assistance of these theee men. They handled all of the furniture and lots of boxes carefully and placed everything where we asked them to put our belongings. And the men were polite and easy to talk to. This is what my mother wrote. My mother is extremely demanding so calling the move good is high praise. "I had a good move with American Movers! I paid the premium to have their team come to N. Oklahoma. It was a cold snowy and icy day. The move consisted of moving furniture to a temporary home, putting the remainder in storage, and leaving the furniture and items for the Estate Sale. It took more than one day and John Garrelts moved teams around so they could come the next day to finish the move. I have French and Belgian antiques from the 1790's and other antiques. American Movers is the BEST moving company I have ever worked with! They are professional, courteous, and respectful. They have helped me move at least 5 times, & every single time, they are so genuine & kind, it feels like I am moving with friends. I cannot say enough good things about them, & would literally call on them to move anywhere in the country! They are excellent. The price is fair and there are NO HIDDEN CHARGES! The owner came out and helped and checked on everyone. I have to be honest the people whose home I bought used a UHaul truck and some list of movers they gave them. Their movers showed showed up two hours late. One of the movers had court!!! They were advised to get a truck too small. They were not out at close and still not out the next day. They also broke some of their things. My American Movers team Cody, Justin, Jerrit had me out and moved-in in 4 HOURS! They were running on and off the truck! They worked so well as a team! American Movers was excellent. From my first contact with Jon until the last truck was unloaded it was great. Jon was quick to respond to emails or answer a call. Very satisfied with the job they did. They got everything moved incredibly fast all while handling my possessions delicately. The men were very respectful, they placed the items in the proper rooms, and communicated with me every step of the way. What impressed me the most is the way they got large objects (like my washing machine and dryer) through small/awkward spaces with ease...very professional...The price was exactly what was quoted to me, and compared to other moving companies they were by far the cheapest. This was my second time enlisting the services of American Movers. John and Mary assisted me during the planning phase and were patient with my questions. The guys who did the move, Joe and Damon, were fantastic and helped guide my decisions through what is a stressful process for most people. We had three different drop-off sites and they made it work in how they loaded the truck. American Movers is a top-notch company with great people and service and fair prices. We needed a mover at the last minute to pick up items from a family estate sale in Wichita and bring them cross-country to Northern California. From start to finish, they were phenomenal -- not only were willing to come same-day, they did a beautiful job packing many fragile, sentimental, and nonstandard sized items. Ive used a few moving services around town but since using American Movers ive stuck with them (i typically call em ab twice a year to move my stuff)! Always quick to respond & the whole process is super simple. Reasonable prices & the movers are always respectful. Never had a bad experience with them! We were in need of having a baby grand piano moved quickly. We got a quote from John at American Movers and we were pleasantly surprised at the good rate. They were actually able to take care of it on the same day we called. There were three young men who clearly knew what they were doing. They arrived at the College Hill address at 12:30. They took the piano apart and had it on the far west side of Wichita by 1:30. Within 20 minutes they had it carefully set up in our home. They were professional and friendly. Needed a safe moved to my parents house. Talked to John on the phone arranged appointment. Everyone was easy to work with and friendly. Guys showed up ahead of schedule smiling and each of them was in a good mood. They went right to work moving the 800# safe from a house basement. Chose American Movers based on reviews, and I was not disappointed! I called John at 8:30 am on a Saturday, and he had a crew there by 12:45 pm. My mom needed to move from an assisted living on the east side of Wichita to a Home Plus care facility on the west side. They had everything packed up and delivered (to 2 different locations) in 2 hours and 10 minutes. Amazing! This company is efficient and fair-priced. Great experience with American Movers!! Staff was experienced, courteous, quick, efficient, and even showed up early!! I had hired another company that canceled our appointment without even telling us. Ended up calling American Movers on Monday hopeful they could get me on the books 2 days later. Not only could they make the appointment work, they were able to get there earlier than my other appointment! We had a heavy safe and they moved it perfectly. No damage to any property!
