I felt like I was at my best friend from college's home while I stayed midweek on business in the Waseca, MN area. The beds were divine! Comfortable and just the right amount of firmness. The lines were top notch and loved my jacuzzi tub and the shower and amenities were planet friendly and smelled amazing. The coffee is delicious or you can use the Kerig machine for coffee/tea anytime. It was quiet so that I could get work done and simply relaxing. My welcome platter was shared with the owner/innkeeper and her hubby while we chatted about life. Close to a yoga studio that is breathtaking and a massage/acupuncture healing space a few miles away, Healing Hands, is a huge bonus. Being a craftbeer fan, two breweries are very close by and a pizza farm and a few wineries. You are close to a few other small cities (less than 20 minutes) for other breweries as well. I can see coming back here to enjoy a bike ride or long walk along Clear Lake or maybe kayaking too. Jodie's home is newly decorated Victorian style without the stuffiness and dust that many homes have. It is simply beautiful and her master gardener skills will surely show in the spring/summer/fall. BREAKFAST!!!!!!! was beyond amazing and healthy. I like more protein and healthy fats and since I was the only guest, we shared breakfast together of avocado toast, boiled egg, hint of cayenne, french yogurt with fruit, grapefruit juice, plenty of coffee, and a delicious blackberry and white chocolate scone. This is the BEST place to stay if traveling near Owatonna/Waseca/Mankato/Faribault area, as that is where I was traveling for work. See you again soon! Brenda

After 12 hour drive want a nice hot shower and bed. Turn on shower and dead fly comes floating by. Then toilet was never cleaned! Inside was gross! Dirt and hair in corner of floor by shower. Dirty used Kleenex, hair and dirt under counter in sink. So gross! Beds were made and there were clean towels. I didn't even sleep on sheets because I didn't know if they were actually clean. See pics. Will never stay there again! Also, never came to clean room or bring more clean towels.

I arrived on a Tuesday at 2pm and they had a room ready for me in the 1st floor. I was greeted at the front desk and told about the free breakfast. My room was clean. The bathroom was good as well as the bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows also were fluffy and the room smelled clean. The room has a big selection of tv channels and the WiFi was easy to connect to. Being on the 1st floor I thought it might be noisy but it was extremely quiet. The breakfast had a good variety of options and I would say it is just as good if not better than some Hampton inn breakfasts. I would recommend staying here, would go back.

I couldnt find the office so I asked a guy who was buffing his truck out where it was. It was in town but according to their voicemail the office was closed. The voicemail made no mention of where to get the keys. The man said the bar sometimes had the keys. So off to the bar in town I went in search of the cabin keys. Sure enough, they had them and I paid $274.69 for two nights, and headed back to the cabins. Their website states they are "unmatched." What they dont state is it is unmatched in misery and uncleanliness. Our cabin was filthy. The floors were dirty with leave debris and it obviously had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. There were spiders and cobwebs all over. The place smelled musty. The refrigerator was dirty. And the grossest of all was the toilet had obviously been used by a very "messy" person who left splatters in the bowl and an even dirtier floor. The cabin didn't even have cleaning supplies nor a broom to at least make it presentable for us until I could actually speak to someone in the office. Wait...it gets worse believe it or not. The bed was a double sized bed, hard, lumpy and very noisy. everytime we rolled over we woke the other up. But all this does not even compare to the steady noise of highway 14 which is within feet away AND a train station. All night long we heard trains running, blowing steam and making a HUGE banging noise--it almost sounded like a collision. I'm assuming they were switching the cars around. One last thing...since the place smells so musty, we had the bedroom window open, but all night long we kept getting sewer vapor smells assaulting our nose. In conclusion, we have stayed in some doozies, but this one tops the cake. I will post a follow up on how the manager deals with all my complaints once I finally get ahold of him. If this is the newly renovated cabin as they state, I shudder at the thought of what it used to look like.

We've stayed at other cabins before and have had good luck. While it was clean and first appearances seemed fine, we were greatly disappointed in our stay. We stayed two nights and the bed was AWFUL. I know people have different ideas of a comfortable bed, but this one may not be comfortable for anyone. Beside it being fairly hard, it had a plastic cover which was very loud whenever you might toss and turn about. I was awoken whenever I turned or my husband turned. That's how loud it was. It also made you very hot. We could barely sleep because of this. Neither of us slept well. The second night, I even resorted to the twin hideabed, and that was only a tad better. The springs in the mattress were quite painful in my back though. Somehow my husband was able to stay asleep through the night, though he claims the quality of his sleep was not satisfactory. Our neighbors at the rental house on the 2nd night also decided to have a late night of partying and stayed up past 3 AM outside talking loudly and even shouting at times. Their outside light shined directly into our cabin. Besides not getting a good night's rest, the remote to change the tv channels was missing and so the channel was stuck on MSNBC. And both mornings the air outside smelled like a really bad sewer back up. We learned after we left that this place is in close approximation to the water treatment/sewer plant.
