I was employed by AMS years ago (2000) when they were still in Waltham, MA. Everything about this company is corrupt! George Cloutier is miserable, depraved excuse for a human being. He's worse than Ebinezer Scrooge. At least Ebinezer has some empathy when he is taken through Christmas past... George has heartlessly seen his employees through many thin, cold Christmases with a blind eye and a black heart, it remains that way today and will never change. He treats his clients the same way. He is not there to help your business and give you great advice...he is only there to line his own pockets...what you are left with after he is done is no concern of his... he will just say you didn't follow his advice. They lie. They have an "alliance" (supposedly) with the US Conference of Mayors, so when they have their reps call prospective business owners (under false pretenses) they make their phone reps lie and pretend that they ARE, in fact, calling from the US Conference of Mayors. I'm not sure how the US Conference of Mayors would feel about that, but they are probably not centralized/organized enough to be paying much attention. They train their reps to manipulate prospective clients... all reps are put through Sandler Sales training which teaches reps not to answer questions and to only answer question with another question (example...) ... the potential client asks the sales rep a question, like "Who are you? Why are you calling me." and the rep won't answer the question, they will say "That's a great question. Let me ask you this..." They will run the person around on the phone until the person agrees to meet with them... AGAIN, it's a meeting under false pretenses. No amount of money is as important or could every replace your family. I speak from experience... I was orphaned at the age of 12... my father passed when I was 9 and my mother passed with I was 12 (natural causes/older couple that adopted me when I was baby) and I lost my whole world... I would pay anything to have my family back... but George will teach you that you need to ditch your family for money to save the business... that MONEY is more important than FAMILY. It is NOT. Luckily I have my own family now (3 beautiful children) and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world... I've never been so happy and when I was making a lot of money in my 20's I was NEVER so happy as I am NOW with MY FAMILY. For potential future sales reps thinking about working at AMS: DON'T DO IT! You will work your bottom off all week trying to strong-arm a few of the outside sales reps in the door of each company for George, only to find out that the outside sales reps were not allowed in or they didn't make a sale... do you make money for getting them in the door? NOPE. Your income is dependent upon the work of others! After you get off the phone with the potential client, having done your job, a "good job" (corrupt desperation to feed yourself) you don't make money for your hard work.. you ONLY make money of the outside sales reps later make a sale... and knowing George's highly unethical way of being, I can almost GUARANTEE you that George fudges the numbers and reports to all the phone reps that sales were not later made from the appointments they set up for outside reps, when in fact they did happen. Regarding positive reviews at this site... I don't think they are from real customers or employees, I don't think I would be able to post this review if I said where I thought the reviews were coming from, so I won't do that... but if you look at reviews on other sites, they are not so glowing and I just know how clients and employees feel about their strong-arm tactics... I've never met a person in real life that like AMS. One last thing. They are bigots. They trained us to recognize and not call anyone with an "Indian last name" . "Don't call a Patel! Don't call a Patel, those cheap Indians." If American Management services calls you or even The US Conference of Mayors... please hang up or ask if you can call them back... ask for a number, I guarantee you they will only answer your question by asking you a question... they will try to keep you on the phone and control the direction of the conversation... when they do that, promptly hang up and don't pick up your phone the rest of the day. Better you, get on the "Do Not Call" list and sue then when they don't abide and good luck! read more

AMS' mission is "to pinpoint the key issues and concerns faced by small to medium-sized business', to convince ownership to confront those problems and their real costs, to assist client management in developing and implementing the necessary programs, methods and procedures which will result in improved sales, profits and organizational effectiveness", however their execution is based on outdated business practices that can be found on nowadays books and publications known as "bean counting" or "sweat shop" tactics. They engage with their customers' employees with a deceiving approach, with surveys presented as tools to improve work environment but used to identify even how many times an employee goes for a water break and account to owners as bad habits making them lose money. For anyone with average knowledge of management and productivity strategies adopted over the last 30 years will agree that a successful results oriented business include different aspects like work-life balance, positive team spirit, respect, a work environment that invests on the comfort and breaks. From giant corporations to successful start ups. there are thousands of examples of companies that use these methods to achieve results by investing on the well being of the employees. AMS engages with owners to identify defective workforce and preaches on squeezing the sweat out of employees, eliminating personal time, identifying coffee breaks as negative to productivity and pointing fingers to any personal deviation according to their toxic third world sweat shop management concepts. I am not sure why small and medium business would engage with management consulting with this engagement model, my perception as observer is that challenged businesses are in a desperate state really looking for excuses to adopt such methods (recommendations like "your employees spend X min per day drinking coffee and this equals to a Y dollars loss at the end of the year for your business" should be thrown far away to the swamp). Interesting to find such mentality at management consulting service providers. Known outcomes are business owners throwing away doughnut trays employees share among each other, accompanied by "don't do this anymore, you are wasting my company's time when you do this". I am not "that" person who leaves negative reviews but in this instance I feel compelled to do so. I am a business professional with over twenty years experience of working in the private sector. This is the one and only time in all of my years of working that I have witnessed so much toxic behavior from management towards the subordinates. I highly encourage for those seeking employment with a productivity driven company that offers commission and hourly based comp plans, you would do better to look for employment elsewhere. ***Quick summary of events since Mr. Louis in Miami who is the manager for this company thinks that I have the issue. *** Bullying at the hands of management. I feel railroaded and gas lighted because I pointed out toxic behavior from management towards subordinates, after having witnessed a senior member come into the call center and act like a spoiled child who was not getting his way. Although what he (LOU) was ranting about had nothing to do with me and he even personally made it a point to tell me so, (as if that was supposed to make me feel better about what I was seeing) the fact is, I was a new hire still in training and on the phone with an owner when I was abruptly told to end the call, so I could hear what Lou was saying. But if it had nothing to do with me, why was I pulled out of MY training and off of MY call? Why does management talk to the subordinates like they are three year olds? There IS a problem here, but it lies solely on the shoulders of those responsible and that is management. Do better and stop making excuses for poor behavior! Lee is being too kind I worked for AMS in their Orlando office as an appointment setter. The pressure on us was enormous which is why their is such high turnover. And we are told to decieve people. CEO tells us "little white lies are ok. Everybody does it." Problem is that a lie is a lie and that these are not just "little white lies" They are massive distortions of truth and facts. Aside from that, if you don't mind being blatantly dishonest, the pay is abysmal here. No benefits. They have aged systems like time clocks and issue paper checks. No direct deposit. Massive micro management with camera's all over the place. Leads are old and beaten up. They paint a rosy picture with lot's of potential cash, but few if any get their hands on any of it. They simply don't stay or the company will figure a way to make sure you don't get it. They have changed their address and are now at 8250 Exchange in Orlando. Different address. Same b.s.
