I've been to super chill jazz nights that turned in to topless dance parties, and art showings that brought the city's finest together over wine. This is the coolest spot to make some friends and book that event you always wanted to see happen. Their street view is an unassuming storefront, and through the door an open performance space, then couches, a bar, and a bathroom. The entire space is tiny, there's capacity for about 70 people in total and it gets pretty crowded pretty quickly. The art and displays rotate as their showcases change. Social programs are hosted by motivated individuals year round. They are very do it yourself and very politically correct, so if you're a snobby lazy jerk you might not want to socialize too long. But honestly, you'll probably fit right in with them, and the hip neighborhood they've been a part of for years. Admittedly I've only read the one article (link below), but it looks like she was trying to organize a body positivity swim that was top-optional, which is already the case in public pools. She seems to just have wanted the focus on the swim to be for body positivity so that trans people could feel safe and wanted. I've been to a few of the skinnydipper swims and it was super tame. Just a bunch of folks hanging out at the pool without clothes on, and everyone was polite and friendly. Only a few kids would show up and they were absolutely with their parents. It wasn't a big deal. In fact, the whole point seemed to be that it wasn't a big deal. Most of the folks there were long-time naturists. The healthy competition definitely motivate the chefs to come up with unique and delicious recipes as well as beautiful presentation. If you have a chance to try this I would recommend 100%. The hobby chefs I chose were all fantastic hosts and made my belly sooo happy and satisfied. It was such a unique dining experience that you can't compare to anything else. I don't drink much, so I'd rather go to a shelter to see animals XD! The front lady was nice and she didn't push us to adopt anything. There was an obese cat that's been separated from the other cats because he's on a special diet. He was friendly. I then went in two other rooms, each with about 7 cats. The cats there were really friendly, but some are shy. I spent like 20 minutes there patting the cats.. lol. The cats there have a nice outside patio area where they can walk around as well. The adoption fee is also lower than most places if I remember correctly. My friend donated some $$ to thank them for taking good care of the cats. I probably won't come back to this island again since there's not much to do, but if I go there again I'd stop by this place and pat the cats once more~
