Historic Forks of the Wabash is a historic museum park near Huntington, Indiana, that features…read moreseveral historic buildings, trails and remnants of the Wabash and Erie Canal. The location was the signing location of the historic Treaty at the Forks of the Wabash in 1838. The park is located along the Wabash River. They offer tours, educational programs and events throughout the year. When we visited in October, we noticed that their Haunted Trail was taking place. We were there for a Wedding Reception in their event space. The space had everything required with space for tables, as well as a DJ booth in a rectangular area with a kitchen that could be closed off as needed at one end. The restrooms were not large but were adequate and clean. Parking outside was shared with the public using the trails and park area but seemed to accommodate both well.

Once seated the server came and gave us the specials of the day and disappeared. We didn't see her for at least another 20 minutes, and that is no Exaggeration. Once she reappeared, she took our order and the food came pretty quickly. My client ordered the superfood salad which she said was amazing and it was of size that she couldn't eat it all. I chose the less healthy option, Cajun Chicken sandwich which was very good. Seasoned well and hand cut fries which were cooked to perfection. I give the rating of 3 mainly because of the wait. It was lunch hour and most people don't have hours to spend. Sure, some people may have been stopping in after being on the golf course for a bite, but clearly we were on a business lunch considering we were dressed up with papers and such. I would go back just not when I'm taking a client for lunch.

I went along with everyone else and bet that the dealer would bust so we all put additional chips in a circle right beside the initial betting circle. When I saw the whole table bet for bust I put 5 or 6 chips in the bust circle but I only had one chip in the initial betting circle. The dealer did not bust so the whole stack of chips was lost obviously. Some time later the next dealer came in to take over. Again the whole table (except me this time) added extra chips to the bust circle BUT this dealer told one of the players they weren't allowed to bet more on the bust option than they had in the initial betting circle and that dealer told me, you aren't allowed to bet more than the initial bet. So if I bet 2 chips I am not allowed to bet 3 chips on bust. I immediately called it out and started asking why the other dealer allowed me to stack 5 or 6 chips on bust when I only had one chip bet initially? He told me they shouldn't have let me bet that. I of course was shocked and my group took our chips up and cashed out immediately. While we were cashing out we were discussing this incident. I will usually believe that a place is dishonest before any other options just because businesses are predatory, most of the time, especially a gambling hall. The man checking us out heard us talking and asked what happened. I explained what happened, he said I'll check the video and if I see what you say happened happen I will refund you your money. The man wrestled with the tape so long he gave up, walked over and handed us 30 dollars. That's it. That's what happened. I will leave you to come up with your own feelings on this. I personally will never ever go back there knowing that different dealers are running the tables differently and they are making mistakes. Integrity is everything.

Last night, we went to Copper Forge for the first time, and here are my thoughts…read more First, the place is very nice, and the drinks were definitely 10/10, no doubt! The food was okay for me. The prime ribeye was too fatty, but the grilled chicken skewers were yummy! Everyone, the bartenders and hosts was super nice and friendly, except for our waitress. We didn't know her name because she never introduced herself, and from the moment we sat down, she gave us that look. You know the "I don't like you" look? Yeah, I know that look. So, about halfway through, I gave her the same look right back. After she served our food, she gave us a thumbs-up , as if we couldn't speak English or something. Let me make this clear: Yes, we are Asian, but if we go to an American restaurant, we 100% know how to order our food, communicate, and respond to our servers. She also didn't check on us to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything until we were almost finished. Then she came over and asked, "You okay?" It's not like she was a quiet or shy person, either. She was happily chitchatting with the people dining next to us. I told my husband not to leave her a tip, but he's too nice, so of course, he still gave her one. I do hope the manager sees this review because I think the rest of the staff deserves recognition. Everyone else was wonderful! Overall, we will come back, but if she's working, I'll definitely request a different server.

We were invited to their soft opening and were thoroughly impressed with the menu. I would normally give a new place a few months to work out the kinks before I tried their food and service. I'm not doing that in this situation. The food was good and the staff seemed to be up to speed. We were able to drive all the dishes on their soft opening menu and enjoyed everything except the dessert course. They're set up for family accommodations in the main dining room and I was very impressed with the over 21 bar area in the back of the house. Can't wait for the opening on 7/27 as it's a 10 minute walk from our house!
