Great place to have some food, cheap drinks and listen to great jams on Thursday and Saturday nights. Open to public, but many don't know that. Come check it out! read more

It took 45 minutes from the time we exited our car to the time we got to our seats. There has to be a more efficient way get people into the building. We took an elevator to get to our seats in the 600 level. From our seats it was difficult to see and hear everything well. The bathrooms were clean enough and the food and drinks were expensive. Fortunately, parked close to an exit but I could see some people waiting an hour or longer to leave the arena. There has to be a better way to move people in and out of this venue.

We drove to Fort Wayne hoping to watch good theatre. The Civic Theatre is part of a larger complex called Arts United center which has a philharmonic, art exhibits and other cultural venues. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lines in will call are practically non-existent. The lines in the ticket booth are not much larger. There are certainly some negatives 1) No valet parking. Parking is also a rather long walk from theatre. I am used to theaters with either valet parking or at worst a nearby parking lot. May not be a problem for me, but my mother is older and she does have problems walking long distances. Several other patrons were also in the same situation. The nearest parking garage is several blocks away. 2) the seats are narrow and a bit uncomfortable. The narrowness didn't bother me, but my brother is larger and it was a tight fit for him. Not a lot of cushion on the seat though 3) The decor is a bit spartan compared to other theaters I have been to. 4) No alcohol sold either before the play or during intermission. They do sell sodas/pop and small snacks. I still believe though that even with these negatives, it is worth coming. The play was entertaining and well acted. My mother loved her birthday gift. Whats better than that?

There's no longer any play equipment, and the arcade games are slim pickings. I really dislike the lack of tangible tokens or at the very least tickets. Part of the experience of arcade games for tickets is seeing those tickets spew out of the machine. Now it's pretty lame. Would have stayed for dinner if the price of pizza wasn't so high. I will admit the place was clean for the most part and the staff were very nice. I think a more fun experience can be had over at Crazy Pins.
