The Eagle Hotel is one of those places that does exactly what it should and does it well…read more While it's now owned by the Funk family (who have several restaurants in the area), the Eagle has stayed true to its roots. The menu hasn't been overcomplicated or reinvented, and that's honestly part of the charm. If you've been coming here for years, it still feels like the Eagle. We came with a group of eight, ordered food and drinks across the table, and everything came out impressively fast. Drinks were quick, food followed right behind, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy. The wings are a standout. They still do wing nights, and you can tell they take them seriously. They use Bell & Evans wings, which are locally sourced and it shows in the quality. We had the sweet heat bone-in wings, which were perfectly cooked with great flavor, and Thee FEHO boneless wings, which were also excellent. We also ordered the flying eagle fries hand-cut fries topped with cheese, bacon, and barbecue sauce. Comfort food done right. You can choose from hand-cut, curly, or extra crispy fries, which is always appreciated. The space itself is small but comfortable classic small town bar vibes with exposed brick, a cozy dining room in the back, and a relaxed bar area up front. It's not fancy, and it's not trying to be. It's just a good place to hang out, have a few drinks, eat solid food, and actually enjoy yourself. Overall, this is a dependable, low key spot with good food, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We've been here many times before and will absolutely keep coming back. It's a staple for a reason.

September 5, 2025 | 101 Main St, Fredericksburg, PA 17026 2 - 402.11 Effectiveness-Hair Restraints Food employees observed at the food slicing area were not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets or hats. 4 - 501.11 Good Repair and Proper Adjustment-Equipment Door gaskets of the reach-in coolers in the kitchen area were nonexistent, damaged, and in need of replacement. The manager informed the inspector that they have been ordered and should be replaced next week. The walk-in freezer condenser fan area was observed with an accumulation of hanging ice falling onto food products. 3 - 302.11 Packaged and Unpackaged Food-Separation, Packaging, and Segregation Raw ground beef in the walk-in cooler was stored on top of a box of ready-to-eat vegetable soup. 2 - 102.11(A-C1)(C4-16) Person in Charge, Demonstration The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility, as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. 3 - 501.12 Slacking Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food Salmon in ROP packaging was not being removed prior to thawing. 5 - 205.11 Using a Handwashing Sink-Operation and Maintenance Old food residue was observed in the handwashing sink in the kitchen/dishwashing area. 3 - 501.17 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Date-Marking Refrigerated, ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food (meatloaf and coleslaw) prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the three-door reach-in and the one-door stand-up reach-in, was not being date-marked. Commercially processed, refrigerated, ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food (roast beef, meatballs, and cheese) held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in cooler, was not being date-marked. 6 - 501.16 Drying Mops Mops were being stored directly on the floor and not hung to dry in the dishwashing area. 3 - 501.18 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Disposition Chili (Aug. 25), crab dip (Aug. 28), and cut tomato (Aug. 29), refrigerated, ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food in the walk-in cooler area, were date-marked by the facility but were beyond the seven-day use- or sell-by date and required discarding. 7 - 201.11 Separation-Storage A working container of cleaner/sanitizer was stored above the food slicer and was hanging on a shelf with clean dishes, with food, equipment, and/or single-service articles in the kitchen and dishwashing area. 4 - 602.13 Non-Food Contact Surfaces The interior of the oven was observed with excessive char and was in need of cleaning. Condenser/fan in the walk-in cooler was observed with green and black matter. The floor under and around the three-compartment sink area was dirty, was observed with an accumulation of build-up, and was in need of cleaning. The floor fan in the kitchen area facing the meat-slicing area was dusty, dirty, and in need of cleaning. 4 - 601.11(A) Equipment, Food Contact Surfaces, Non-Food Contact Surfaces, and Utensils Deflector shield on the interior of the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have pink matter and was not clean to sight and touch. 5 - 203.11 Handwashing Sinks-Numbers and Capacities Food Facility has one handwashing sink in the kitchen area. The sink had chemicals with chemical nozzles hanging directly above it. 7 - 102.11 Common Name-Working Containers Working containers in the server station, outdoor bar, dishwashing area, and above the food slicer area, used for storing chemicals and cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. 6 - 501.110 Using Dressing Rooms and Lockers A cellphone and a pack of cigarettes were stored on the shelf above the meat-slicing area.
