My sister and I were spending the day together and we just happened to be driving by American Kolache. We were talking about how we both had wanted to stop by and check it out, so we did! We parked the car and started walking up to the door. I noticed how small the building was in person, look like there was just enough room for maybe 8-10 people to fit comfortably inside, but it was nice, you could tell that it was freshly remodeled. We didn't even make it to the door before a young lady opened the door to greet us. I think her name was Kayleigh, I apologize if I have that wrong. Anyway, she comes right out the door as we're walking up to it and she hands us this large box and tells us that we can have what's left free of charge because they were getting ready to close. The box was a hefty box too, it was hardy like this was the most durable box I've ever held that contained food. I love the fact that they want that extra measure to make sure that the box stayed durable during transportation. Impressive choice! We thanked her and thought that was really kind! I had asked her if she was the manager and I believe she said she was the owner's daughter. I asked if I could snap a quick picture of the inside since it was my first time. She said yes of course and was really sweet and accommodating. My sister and I went back to the car an opened up the box. There was a dozen kolaches on the inside and some of them were still hot! We thoroughly enjoyed sampling all of them! We didn't get any of the sweet ones but out of the ones we did try I really enjoyed the sloppy joe and the chicken bacon ranch. I love the fact that I was going in there just to be able to do a Google review, walked away with free food, and I'm able to write a positive review about this business. Looking forward to going back and trying out some of their desserts because they all do look amazing!

The food was wonderful...loved the jalapeño popper one! Perhaps, a little pricey, but no doubt delicious.

While passing through the area my wife found this hidden local gem and it was well worth the stop…read more I am even thinking about going back tomorrow. We talked to the person there and found it was run by his family, and they do an exceptional job. My wife had the Liberty Cheesesteak with added onions while I had a combo Italian Beef/Italian Sausage sandwich - dipped with added onion, hot pepper and cheese. We also had a side of fries. Both sandwiches were big, which you would expect. The Philly had finely chopped steak with the peppers, onions and cheese all mixed in. My wife said it was fantastic. My combo was incredible. The beef was seasoned perfectly and was clearly not sitting all day in the au-jus (which when talking to the owner afterwards he confirmed was the case). You can always tell this because the meat had a nice texture and was not overly salty, but instead as I stated seasoned and cooked perfectly. Additionally, the fries were well cooked, crisp and hot. They take care to keep the oil fresh and clean, so the fries taste like fries instead of old dirty oil. As an added bonus he even treated my pup to a small dish of ice cream which she enjoyed on a hot day. Fortunately, we showed up a little after the lunch rush and was able to spend a few minutes talking about the business and baseball and our combined hate of the dreaded Dodgers. Even if I don't go back there tomorrow, it's definitely a must stop next time through the area.

Our food was freshly prepared and the milkshake was thick (which is my personal preference). Everything tasted delicious, and the portions were generous enough that we left with leftovers.

When you actually click on the item you want to order, it lists all the ingredients so you can omit the items you don't want....this is how you can find out what is on the food item. Interestingly, for a cheesesteak, it lists lettuce, tomato, and mayo....none of which actually come on the sandwich. (See pictures) Also, it automatically added a $5 tip to our order. Ummmm, no way are you adding an auto tip to my pickup order people. It took us forever to figure out how to remove/modify the tip. I am appalled that you think it's ok to add a tip to an order. As for the food, it was served very hot. Good job there. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious. Not a huge amount of steak on the sandwich. (See pictures, and note how little steak there was compared to the chicken sandwich.). The fries were good. The Buffalo chicken cheesesteak was unbelievably greasy and salty. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly, and there was a generous amount of chicken, cheese, mushrooms, and onions. That being said, it was literally dripping in sauce, which was 95% grease, 5% flavor. I would definitely not order this sandwich again. On a side note, we received a text asking us to complete an online survey. I took the time to do so, and when I hit submit, it asked for THE code they sent us. They did not send us a code, so I could not submit the comment I took the time to write. This place needs to get their act together.

I wish I could articulate what brain processes led to the "FAJITAS" category screaming out at me…read morewhile I was looking over the extensive Baba's menu but I really can't say. What I can tell you is that I ordered the steak and chicken mixed option fully prepared for it to be a let down but I am so happy I gave them a chance because they were not half bad. As you can see from photos there's nice sized servings of beef and chicken tossed with much more onions, peppers, tomatoes and seasoning than I expected. It also comes with plenty of nicely cooked tortillas for scooping up all the goodness into a couple of tacos as well as shredded lettuce, sour cream, and some of Baba's mild sauce. I like the mild sauce on other menu items like the chicken but don't feel it works very well with the fajitas. I ended up adding some leftover salsa of my own that I had in the fridge. I have to admit that one thing that drew me to this order was a picture I saw on the menu showing that the fajitas came with pita bread as opposed to tortillas. It just seemed like a very intriguing combo to me. I was still happy with the tortillas but have to admit that not being able to satisfy my curiosity did bother me. Would be kind of cool if they gave the option to choose pita or tortillas. I ordered using the Baba's app and the food was ready at the quoted pickup time of 20 mins. The woman cleaning up for closing and working the counter was an absolute sweetheart. Gave the perfect amount of lemon pepper when I said just a little and was just so friendly.

Especially from the manager absolutely unacceptable and very unprofessional. Baba's in Montgomery has lost my business. I ordered through Uber Eats and paid approximately $25 in delivery and service fees. When I called to report the issues with my order, the manager was rude and told me I would have to bring the food back to the restaurant. If I had been able to do that, I wouldn't have paid for delivery in the first place. It is completely unreasonable to expect a customer to pay another $25 in fees or make a trip to the restaurant to correct a mistake that wasn't theirs. The food itself was unacceptable. It was dripping with oil, the fries were undercooked some were actually raw the onions were burnt, and the meat had absolutely no flavor. To make matters worse, I even bit into pieces of bone. Despite explaining these issues, the manager refused to offer any solution or take responsibility. A little professionalism and concern for customer satisfaction would have gone a long way. This experience has cost them a loyal customer. I have ordered from them in the past several times. I spent a lot of money. I will not be ordering from them again, and I cannot recommend them based on the food quality or the way they treat their customers.
