I adore Flatbread. Great fresh, high quality ingredients. The sea weed on the salad might sound odd, but it is actually delish. Good for lunch or dinner when the family comes to town, eating with friends, or going on a casual date. It can get a little loud sometimes since they share a large space with a bowling alley, but if you go at a time that is less popular for bowling, you'll be fine. read more

Friendly staff and amazing Flatbread!! For three adults we ordered three small flatbreads which gave us leftover slices for lunch the next day! We had the herb and cheese ( delicious) and the pulled pork ( amazing and unexpected) the third we tried was the pepperoni - I LOVE how they use nitrate free meat! Great beer selection as well, really like how everything is local ( even the liquor) Great little spot - we like going on week nights when its less crowded, candlepin bowling is so much fun! read more

Been here twice. Both times the wait has been interminable. The first time they told us it would be 20 minutes for a table. We waited 45 then left because we were starving. Tonight we got there at 4:45pm and they told us it would be a 15 minute wait. Then they told us 20 more minutes. Then it was another HOUR before we were sat. I get it that they get busy on a Saturday night, that's great for them. But misquoting by an hour and 20 minutes is really not OK. Had we known it would be that long, we would have left and gone to any one of the other great places in Davis. When they did finally seat us, I counted 16 empty tables of the 25 or so in the restaurant. not sure what the hour wait was about. The staff is really friendly, the pizza is good, as is the salad, and they have fantastic beers on tap. But, that's only if you ever get to a table. Also - don't even bother with the bowling. We called the day before to see if we might be able to walk in and we were told to come on the earlier side. We thought 4:45 would be early enough but, it was a four hour wait! Go on an off night if you go at all - the weekend just isn't worth the wait and I don't think they are organized enough to handle the crowds. read more

Went there for dinner and bowling last night. Pizza was excellent and fairly priced. Service was great. Beer is cheap *enough* : ~$5 for a pint. Plus their selection favors craft beer. Their aren't too many bowling alley lanes (maybe 8 to 10?) so on a busy night, I could see a line. But we went went, we were able to bowl right after dinner. I could also see this place becoming really busy when school starts up again. So if you're in Boston this summer, definitely go check out Flatbread Pizza before everyone else finds out about it. read more

Ok, this place was highly recommended. The atmosphere was cool, an old style bowling hall, but the food was not impressive at all. I ate at the bar, Sara the bartender was kind enough but not very attentive, and there were 3-4 bartenders. I mainly wrote this because of the food. One sausage pizza and one soda, $25. I wouldn't have minded but the pizza was mediocre at best. Very little sauce or toppings and the flavor was bland. I consider myself someone that knows food, I eat out 730 times per year every year and am willing to pay for the good stuff. I just didn't see the appeal here. Good luck if you try it, but next time Im in Davis Im headed back to Posto. read more

While the food here is incredible, the service is lacking. I recently placed an order through FOODLER and this company. It was an important lunch for my executives and I was having it delivered to them before a big board meeting that they would be tied up in for the next 3 hours (unable to eat). It was brought it my attention that the food was not there, so I called FOODLER since this is the company I went through. They explained the food would get to them in 15 minutes. No big deal- restaurants fall behind. 1 hour later, after their window of opportunity to eat had closed, the food was delivered. They were unable to eat it until their meeting had ended. My starving executives had to go to an important meeting with no food in their stomachs. When I called to try and solve this, I was told I could get no more than 15% back. There was no more speaking with me about the situation. I felt dismissed and as if I did not matter. While this was a favorite amongst my execs, we were all left with a sour taste in our mouths after this experience and will be ordering elsewhere the next time there is a meeting. read more

Super well made and tasty pizza with many healthy ingredients. The service was great!! We ordered two pizza and one of them was served a bit later than the other one. The waitress not only came to check on us but offered a free pizza because we had to wait on the second one. I am usually not a pizza fan, but I really like their thin crust pizza. read more

Need to update my review with raves about the SALAD I just had for lunch. I called to place my order for take out and was there in 10 minutes to get it. I ordered their most basic salad, which was an impressive blend of mesclun greens and green leaf lettuce with carrots, celery, seaweed, toasted sesame seeds and a homemade vinaigrette. For only $6, this was a damn good deal. Normally a restaurant's most basic salad consists of iceberg lettuce and carrots. And that's it. Went there with a big group and had a grat time. The salads were delicious and the pizza was yummy. My friend and I split the family style cobb salad which was to die for! Were told that the family size was for about 4 people - the two of us easily scarfed that baby down and had room for a slice from our friends' pies. The desserts were also very yummy. Currently sitting here eating. I drove an hour to eat and bowl and came in the middle of the day 3pm thinking it wouldn't be busy. No walk in availabilities to bowl until 7pm. People walk in put their name on the list and then leave. They are then called to come and given some time to come to their lane. Absolutely absurd. If you want to come here to bowl and eat. Good luck!!! There was another couple in the same situation with kids. Total disappointment. If you put your name on the list you should be in the building eating or at least drinking. My first time at Flatbread. The atmosphere is funky (if young...lot of skater types the night I was there) and the pizza (flatbread) was rockin. The bowling makes it a bit loud but it's to be expected. Tried the nitrate free pepperoni pizza. While this roni isn't pretty to look at the taste was muy bueno. Near the heart of Davis Square stands a place that combines two of the greatest past times in this country: Pizza and Bowling. By what seemingly brings together the ultimate childhood memory, Flatbread Company fairs as a somewhat decent place to induldge with the two. However, this place only had candlepin bowling, a smaller version of the familiar ten pin. Our party arrived at the time suggested by this establishment, but had to wait 45 minutes before we got to eat. The bar area to wait in was a bit snug, but having a taste of some of the local brews on tap is definitely recommended if you drink. Mind you, there was nine of us, so seating us all together was probably a bit of a challenge on a Friday night, but not impossible. Having a large group will effect when you sit, so be prepared to wait. When we were finally seated, right off the bat, our server was not doing the best she could. She asked half our table first what they wanted to drink, brought their drinks, then asked the other half, and then brought theirs. In addition, she would forget what were drinking and would bring the wrong drinks. Also, when we got plates, they were still wet and one wasn't cleaned properly, which was a bit unsettling. However, getting the famed draft Root Beer was probably the highlight of the night, as it stood out as the best thing. Since it was a large group, we got a large salad, which was filled with the brim with feta and fresh veggies. Everything was good and fresh, but it didn't stand out, as there was not much dressing to be had. Next, we ordered 4 flatbreads; Nitrate-free Pepperoni and Mushroom, Shepherd's Pie (exactly as it sounds with mash, corn, carrots and meat) Mopsy's Kalua Pork and the Coevolution. Each with it's own flavor, each flatbread had a good amount of toppings and tasted pretty good, whether it be cheese, peppers, olives, mozz, onions, mushrooms, pork or pepperoni. The odd one of the group was the Shepherd's Pie. It was the special of the night and it had everything you would have in a pie, but the carrots were almost like an afterthought. It wasn't a bad taste, it just seemed strange. Kudos for the creativity of Flatbread Company on their flatbread pizzas and the overal feel of the place, but it is a once in a while kind of place. Every pizza was filling, but they weren't by any means stand out meals. The novelty of the place is in fact that they are served on flatbread, creating an organic spin on the traditional pizza. That is commedable, but by no means groundbreaking as it never added or took away from the meals. Finally getting to the candlepin, everything was enjoyable, as it was fun to be with friends and half a laugh while knocking those pins down. Before we headed over, our table had ordered a few desserts, which was hard to focus on while we were bowling. The desserts, specifically the sundae with pumpkin ice cream was not at all exciting. Having a somewhat ok dining experience and good times of bowling was frustrating to say the least. Overall, Flatbread Company is good place to hang out in where large groups can relax together for some good company and eat some decent food. However, they do not take reservations it seems. With an attempted "hip" approach to pizza, beer and bowling, this place does it well enough, but nothing stands out to make this place a staple in the surrounding areas. The root beer on the otherhand, was by far the best tasting thing there. Combined with candlepin bowling, it makes the night a little better. read more

I made reservations for the bowling lane and dinner 2-3 weeks before. The managers were very accommodating to my huge party and changes along the way. When I came in on a busy Saturday evening, a lane was ready for us. We all had our own bowling shoes, so we only had to pay for the lane ($20/hour for 5 people). We thought one hour was a lot of time to kill at candlepin but we were wrong. With the vintage system, we had to wait a while for the balls to roll back (sometimes it doesn't make it through and rolls away) and calculate the scores. So in reality, we were only able to play one game. This was different from what we are used to, but I still like it. The lane did have breakdowns/problems here and there so we had to pause our game several times in that hour. Don't come here expecting a modern and fast bowling lane. A server comes by to get drinks for you (a big plus!!) so you don't have to walk away from your game. There is a huge bar area right next to the bowling lanes. Again, right before my dinner reservation time, they had already set up my table for 14 in the dining room. They didn't give us any trouble when we asked for 2 extra seats/a table added on. I ordered coevolution but was a little disappointed. The ingredients seemed very sparse so I felt like I wasn't eating much. The first few bites also tasted very salty. My friends around me ordered the mopsy's, homemade sausage, and the special of the day (carne? I don't remember). We all shared and I am glad we did. Or else, I would've missed out on everything. My favorite is probably the special of the day, which has chicken, onion, zucchini, etc. Mopsy and homemade sausage were really good too! The fan above my table was a little chilling, and it affected the pizza since it cooled it down before I can get my 2nd slice. The only problem we encountered was when the pizzas were brought out, the person who brought it out just left it wherever there's space without making sure that's the right order for my friends. We had to attempt to move it around ourselves before our server came back and sorted it out for us. Parking can be tough. read more

The bread for SOOOOO dry and not tasty at all. The whipped cream was supposed to be some special flavor.... but it was totally whipped cream from a can. The vanilla ice cream had little flavor. What a fantastic dinner we had here! Almost all beers on tap were from MA. Pretty Things on tap already made me love the place before we had food. We ordered our pizza and it took approximately 5 minutes and was ready. One pizza is enough for two people, and was around $18. Our waitress was really nice and never made us flag her down for another beer. We lucked out and got a table on a Saturday night at 6pm in about 10 minutes but I would strongly advise making reservations. There were a couple birthday parties going on as well and the place was full. Delicious pizza, local beer and a nice way to enjoy some food before or after (or during even) bowling. Awesome revision. I used to come to Sacco's and it was a funny small-town relic that seemed to be limping along, basically abandoned. Now it's always jam-packed and hopping. Local everything, amazing pizza, and great view of the flaming ovens. I love watching the fire. Also there are nice touches like they put one of the lanes sideways as the backing of the bar. read more

Really can't fault this place in any way, had a great birthday experience here last weekend. Customer service was great from booking my reservation and throughout the night (transitioning from the restaurant to the bowling etc). Pizza, drinks, and dessert were all delicious and we had a blast bowling for the first time in years (and it's candlepin bowling, which made me nostalgic for my hometown's old bowling alley!). I've been here once with a small group during one of the Thursday night charity events. The beer selection is quite good - lots of interesting local brews. The pizza choices were filled with interesting ingredients, and they let us do different toppings on each half of our two pizzas so we got to try four combinations. The sweet potato and goat cheese combo I had was delicious, both on that night and the next day as leftovers. Plus the oven is very cool to watch! First time candlepin bowling here. Love how old-school it is. Had a great time with a group of 20 or so. I'm usually not a pizza person but the pizzas were GREAT. Loved the chicken, the pumpkin, the pulled pork, basically every pizza I tried was phenomenal. They can bring the pizza over to the "bar section" near the lanes or you can go to the dining area.
