    Mushroom and red pepper flatbread

Celebrated a joint sweet 16 birthday here, the kids had a lot of fun candlepin bowling. Food was delicious. Interesting that the flatbread is sliced rectangular instead of in wedges but didn't bother me. Crust isn't super crispy and slices are floppy so easier to cut with fork and knife on a plate vs holding by hand. But 'most important- delicious! Wish there were more appetizer options on the menu. Service was great, our server took great care of us given we were a big group. I like the space- great for parties.

Love the vibe and food from this place! Needless to say, their pizzas are supreme! It's also one of the few places that have bowling allies right next to wood-fire pizza place! They have great selection of desserts and beers as well, perfect place for a date night!

So my first time here was back in 2021 and I just noticed I didn't write a review! Let's see how much I remember.. We came here in the summertime of 2021 and sat outside. We ordered the Pepperoni & Mushroom and a half Flyin Hawaiian with pork and half of... to be honest I can't remember the name but it was a Korean influenced pizza with steak and a gochujang-aioli sauce, it was honestly the best of the 3 flavors. Maybe it was a Carne Special at the time. We also ordered a house salad and the house dressing for the salad was so good I asked if I could carry the rest home since we ordered it on the side. -------- We came back here again this past weekend with some friends visiting from out of state and we were planning to do some bowling. There were no lanes open yet so we got a table to sit, eat, drink and chat a bit till a lane opened up. We ordered the Flyin Hawaiian again but with chicken this time and tried the Carne Special which was a burger-style pizza. Both were good, the carne special was a little too heavy on the sauce topping. Where we sat had a view of the staff making the pizzas which was fun to watch.

Reasons to love Flatbread: - Dedication to a mission of good food - Dedication to helping the community - my non-profit had a fundraiser here and everyone on staff was so supportive, and all the patrons were so kind and participated in our raffle - Damn good pizza - I recommend the buffalo cauliflower special - A really nice bar to sit at - you can watch tv or watch people bowl, great for dates or just chilling alone or with friends - Whoopie pies - Bowling - Cozy and themed space that yet somehow still feels airy and unstuffy - Really friendly staff people who seem to enjoy their jobs Honestly, the only cons against this place are that parking in Davis is annoying (though there's a lot next door if you're early enough to get a spot), and you're a bit out of luck if you don't want pizza or salad. But go into your dinner knowing those factors, and you will definitely walk away satisfied.

We had the veggie special. I asked for it to be the vegan option (dairy free) because I forgot my lactaid at home! Luckily they had this option. This is the best pizza texture I've tried in Davis Square. Its thin, crusty, and not dry - you can eat the crust without feeling all thirsty. For a full veggie/vegan option, this tasted better than I expected. It's hard to find a pizza that won't ruin my stomach, but still taste good. The apple sauce was drizzled on top and gave a light sweet taste. It is packed on a Friday night. Make sure you plan ahead if you're making your way here from afar. We couldn't get any bowling lane for two and was told its usually reserved on weekend nights by guests of 8+ people. We will probably come back on a weekday. But although it was packed, it serves the perfect ambiance we were looking for a lively yet chill Friday evening.

American Flatbreads is a comfortable restaurant, bar, and bowling alley. I personally eat the salad every time I go because of the quality farm to table greens it has with a tasty dressing and even like the seaweed. I often get the farm fresh cheese on the salad. The cocktails always outstanding recipes. The beer collection are always local source and the best of the best. My wife like the wine selection too. The pizza are also the best, you can find something for everybody, even vegan. The meats on the pizza are often freshly roasted or pulled chicken/pork. Not your ordinary rare much better.

American Flatbread gets points for the cool aesthetic and points off for the candle pins bowling and style of pizza. The bowling at American is not your typical bowling. They use smaller balls, maybe weighing five pounds and the size of grapefruits. It sort of makes the game harder because the ball is the width of a single pin and therefore usually can't have the strikes you get with normal bowling. You do get three tries instead of two for each round. The aesthetic is great, I'll give it that. This would probably be a great place to sit in and have a beer. But a pizza? I was not a fan of the pizza. I'm not sure what my group ordered, but it must have been the Buffalo Chicken because there was celery on the pizza. Who puts celery on pizza? Also, it didn't taste at all like Buffalo Chicken, or even good at all. I would not come here for the pizza/flatbread. All in all, I'd come here if I wasn't actually serious about bowling - maybe if I had small children who'd have an easier time tossing the smaller bowling balls and wouldn't mind not hitting any pins. Or perhaps if I came here for the drinks and not the food.

I was introduced to this spot by a friend who lives nearby and I wish I knew about it earlier! The environment is very family friendly, relaxing, and homey. You can see the pizza being baked in the open oven, which is always a fun little thing to have. I'm very picky with my pizza crusts and I loved the ones here. It was thin, crispy and didn't fall apart or droop from the toppings. We got the half and half of two of their current specials (the names of the specials is escaping me but I have a photo) and they were both great. Packed with flavors that worked very well together. On top of the food, the workers were really friendly and kind. I'm excited to come back and try the other flatbreads!

We ordered online from their actual website, and the online menu was very clearly labeled and was SO thorough in explanations and checkmark boxes for variations and letting the place know about allergies and such. That is rare to find, and people with allergies always have to worry about that kind of thing, it's a whole to-do. IYKYK. If you have celiac, it may not be a great option as they have cross contamination for their pizzas. Anyways, now the grand reveal: I got a gluten free and dairy free pizza with various toppings and it was GREAT!! It's rare to find a pizza place that can fill the place of regular pizza when you have gluten & dairy allergies, but this comes close! I'm very happy with what I ordered. It is pricey, and their extras are pricey to add on. However, I don't really care as it is rare to be able to enjoy pizza for me. They also provide little gf/df marshmallow treats as a little dessert, for free. That was a nice surprise. Companies don't do stuff like this, so it goes a long way in my book! Overall, great allergy friendly pizza place, and also for regular folks who want a regular pizza. Everyone will be happy.

I held this year's birthday dinner here. I had a good impression of Coda Restaurant Group before,…read moreand this place did not disappoint. Prosciutto: The best dish of the meal. The prosciutto slices were perfectly salty, rich in fat, and smooth, wrapped around the refreshing sweetness of kumquats, the delicate creaminess of stracciatella cheese, the crunch and nutty aroma of pistachios, and topped with a smoky touch of sumac powder. It had a rich and distinct flavor profile while offering a gentle and comfortable taste. Spaghetti: The refreshing lemon and basil paired with the umami crab meat is a classic combination. Chili oil added a touch of spice and aroma, while pea tendrils provided a light herbal fragrance. The sauce was emulsified very smoothly, making it both rich and palatable, although the spaghetti itself didn't leave a particularly strong impression. Half Chicken Milanese: A large portion, perfect as a main course to share. The chicken cutlet was thick, fried to a fragrant perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Wrapped in lettuce and eaten with mayonnaise, it brought back memories of the fast food stalls outside my school when I was a child. This was my first time trying rhubarb stems. The tangy and refreshing taste cut through the richness, and the texture was like softer celery and firmer green bell peppers - quite interesting. Duck Bacon Pizza: The most highly rated pizza online, and it was truly delicious! The rich, savory flavor of the duck bacon, the succulent richness of the shimeji mushrooms, and the mellow sweetness of the caramelized onions, combined with the creamy cheese base, made it a calorie bomb, but I still felt it was the right choice. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit hard, making it difficult to cut with a knife. Cotechino Pizza: This was my first time trying a pizza with sweet potatoes, and I couldn't help but admire their innovation. The colors were vibrant, and the sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired with the smoky aroma of Cotechino sausage bits created a full yet harmonious flavor, evoking the feeling of being in the southern Italian countryside in early autumn, basking in the bright sunshine and the satisfaction of a bountiful harvest. The restaurant offered menus printed with "Happy Birthday," and the waiters provided professional cake-cutting service. Overall, a very comfortable experience.

Service: Server was patient with us waiting for our full party to arrive and us taking time to figure out what to order. Food came out at different times, which was okay as there wasn't a ton of table space for all that we ordered. Drinks: I got the prickly pear gimlet which was delicious but also very tiny. Food: Most of what we got was delicious and interesting. We got 2 'snacks' and 5 dishes for 4 people as well a one desert we all shared and it was plenty of food. We started with the robiola bosina cheese w/ preserved fig honey - tasty but not a stand out and the eggplant caponata, which was standout delicious, highly recommend. This came with very good quality bread but we had to ask for more as the cheese/eggplant to bread ratio was off. Loved: Bucatini verde - absolutely delicious, HIGHLY recommend Octopus - deliciously deep grilled flavor with tasty broth, also highly recommend Liked: Charred sweet potato - very good Eh: Snap pea caesar - could have used more dressing, the radishes were good but mostly just tasted like eating straight snap peas Cotechino pizza - way too much crust to toppings ratio and the sweet potato overpowered the other flavors making it super sweet For desert we got a "cheesecake," interesting but didn't love Value: For all of the above plus 3 drinks came out to a little over ~$200, split four ways about ~$50 per person. A bit pricey but we left full and with a little pizza leftover and some of the dishes were excellent. Overall really enjoyed eating here and would return.

The dining room is fairly small with some bar seating available as well. It was clean and bright. It took about 7 mins for the server to come over and she lead with "are you ready to order?" I guess simple pleasantries are useless anyway. We knew our drinks and appetizers order but not what we wanted for pizza yet so we ordered those and told her we'd order pizzas when the apps and drinks came. She came back about 3 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order yet. Feeling pressured, we ordered thinking that perhaps they close soon (not the case). The bartender delivered our drinks a few minutes later and about 5 mins after that both the appetizers and pizza arrived at the same time. Besides the fact that our table wasn't large enough to accommodate all that food and drink, it was never our intention to eat our appetizers with our meal. The good news is that the food was hot, fresh and tasty. The potato bombs were excellent. Crispy home fry like potatoes and the peppers had a nice heat. I would love to try the popper version next time. The pizzas were good too, but be prepared for floppy and slightly under done base crust but a perfectly charred edge crust. I find many wood fired pizza to come this way but I did see other reviews mention this as a negative. The bill comes in a small ball jar with a delicious rice crispy treat. While the jar worked it must have made it hard to see that I dropped my credit card in it, so after the waitress walked by a few times I removed the card and made it visible on the table. When the tab came to sign I was not given a pen. I should have walked out and just let them charge me for just the tab but I cannot stiff waitstaff, even when it's poor service. My only hope is that it was the waitress's first day and she somehow figures out the typical cadence and procedure involved in waiting tables. Food was a solid 4 but service was a 2 so I landed on a 3. I would definitely go back hoping for a better server.
