After the 30-minute wait I was informed since the first it was the first time there that I had to exchange cash for cash. Luckily there was a Chase Bank next door and I was able to get cash quickly but otherwise this would have been a greater hassle. Also there was another customer that came in way after me and they served them first seemed to not have seen me in the corner waiting.

I just opened my account with CanAm and executed my first transaction. Mike and his team over…read morethere are second to none. His rate is on par with the train station, but CanAm is 1000x more convenient than the dirty sketchy train station. Auto withdrawl from one account and auto deposit to another, with a simple phone call. And they will have an App out soon that will do the same thing!!! No need for costly and inconvenient bank drafts, cash, etc. Just being honest, I have squeezed and tricked my bank's Trade Desk to sometimes give a slightly better rate (maybe 10 or 20 basis points, based on the +$1M account status I was given), but that involves me going to a teller and standing there while they call the Trade Desk and harass them. Not worth the hassle IMO... CanAm makes it so much easier.

This is a very nice station that provides a pleasant place to catch a Via Train. There are several…read moretrains daily to Toronto from this terminal. The facility is relatively new, completed in 2012. The location is in the Walkerville section of town behind the Hiram Walker Distillery. It is not that easy to find if you have not been there before. Coming from the US, once getting through the tunnel or over the bridge, one just needs to make their way to Riverside Dr. and head east. When reaching the distillery, it is one block south. The parking is ample. There is a rather large lot attached to the station that can be used long term. There is an automated pay machine that accepts credit cards. At $8 CAD per day, the cost is reasonable though there is also a private lot next door that is a bit cheaper. The design of the facility is airy and spacious. The floor space provides a comfortable waiting area. There are manned desks and this feature is always desirable. The small station makes it easy to get to and from the trains. There are no dining facilities and few amenities but they are not really necessary in a terminus like this. In general, this facility is a both pleasant and functional. It is very nice for what it is and serves its purpose.
