It's so devastating hearing that Because of how incompetent they are. This is what I mean stay on top of them. I want to cry it's extremely frustrating When you rely on these funds for you and your family. Staff is clueless, so no real help there If you have questions. You will get 6 different answers, there is no standard rule, or set of rules. No one knows anything. Even if you're directed to the HEAD of the department you need. Rules can sometimes change without notification. Oh you're a veteran? Stay on their ass HEAVY, call every single day about enrollment for new terms so you can get paid. Some of them will sit on your enrollment for days and you actually have to remind them to send it up. I've gotten 3 times: "Oh, I forgot, let me do that now." WTF!? i even have a girl change my exam status to hybrid the entire time when I told her I'd be online after a certain month At the start of a new term. this is not great, because I would have to pay funds back for a status i wasn't actively using I caught it last minute before the start of the next term. He was going to go to San Diego High, but it felt big and impersonal. My son is smart and i felt like he was going to just cruise by without any challenge or any accolades. We toured SET and my son was so excited. I love that each class is small. I love McCurdy, Ms Heath and all the other teachers. Ms. Geis is such a rad human! My Daughter is the opposite of my son.... She is into dance and theatre, but after seeing how awesome SET was, we enrolled my daughter too. Love the school and staff dearly!

If so, I highly suggest you check out SET High (formerly Coleman Tech Charter School). Our son graduated from SET High last year and now our daughter is attending and we couldn't be happier. She is only in 9th grade and already taking on leadership roles. The teachers exceed my expectations. They know each student by name, have great relationships with them. My son's former teachers are always happy to see him when he goes to visit, which is often. He even gave graduation presents TO some of his teachers before he left. The students are geeky, wacky, nerdy, different, intelligent, unique, confident, and wonderful! My daughter said that she didn't want to go to any other school because she is with "her people" and she is right. Dr. McCurdy said in last year's commencement speech, "If you aren't failing, you aren't learning." What a great place to make mistakes, learn from them, and make improvements. I'm so excited for the students attending SET High because they are learning real-world skills at such an early age in a supportive, caring, and fun environment. You won't find a better school for your student!

Don't have dental insurance, ballin on a budget, but your teeth desperately needs a cleaning?…read more Look no further than reaching out to Concorde Dental Hygiene facility. When you call and ask to setup an appointment. You'll be added on a waitlist. Low and behold, I got a call and text from one of their students. Once scheduled, you'll only have to pay $20 CASH. You heard that right only $20!! It covers the whole year so you fan go multiple times a year scheduling a cleaning every 3 months. They only do X-Rays, deep cleaning, and regular cleanings. Tip for thought: Arrive a little early to find parking Shoutout to their friendly Instructors and students Ragad for X-Raying my teeth. Fabiola was awesome in deep cleaning my bottom whole section of my teeth, and Farzin for deep cleaning the top whole section. With a deep cleaning they numb you up real good. You might have multiple appointments so make sure you're okay to stay there for a couple of hours. Once students are all done, instructors examine their work to ensure you're all good to go! Then the orientation day I wasn't called and confused why. The program director pulled me aside to tell me another student who was before me responded last minute so they gave him the spot. Had an amazing experience with the WCEMT San Diego location (Aka get Spencer as the instructor). As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.

This is a great place for the Fire Dept. and other agencies to train at. I drive by all the time…read morewhen I drop my son off at work. I have also been on the grounds and seen training drills, including smokey fires. According to the city of San Diego website, "The Regional Public Safety Training Institute (RPSTI), located at 4347 North Harbor Drive near downtown San Diego, is a joint venture of regional law enforcement and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department." It hosts other agencies involving the military, federal, state and city. At this training facility, you can find programs that drill and teach these organizations: U.S. Navy SEALS Federal Bureau of Investigation Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms U.S. Customs and Border Protection California Highway Patrol Various law enforcement K-9 and SWAT teams California Office of Emergency Services (OES) National Fire Academy off-campus classes Professional development training and seminars. Fire Cadet Program. The Training & Safety Facility includes a drill ground; a confined space training site and there is a hazardous materials training site including tank railroad cars and overturned tanker trailers. There are Fire Rescue Camps held here, along with the bi-annual Fire Cadet Program which trains here. The Cadet Program is sponsored by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and San Diego City Firefighters, Local 145. I do not know if these old buildings that are burned up or otherwise utilized as training are the leftovers from when the old Naval Training Center was turned into Liberty Station. The aging housing here does look like old barracks but I will need to look into that further. 4 YELP STARS for the San Diego Fire-rescue Training Institute.
