About 5 years ago I moved to buying online but now that the comics themselves have scaled up there cost and these 5 cover issue nonsense is so common it's no longer a value to purchase online. I'll tell you that the two gentleman I spoke to on my two visits were incredibly kind and were able to answer my questions. I collect TMNT comics first so it's nice to actually see those comics in the store. I am getting back into XMen which is good so far and Absolute Batman is wild. I'm in my 40s and have been collecting comics since I was a kid. This is a modern comic shop done right. So I'll stop in twice a month.

They weren't pushy at all and very helpful. I ended up finding a really cool Alien toy that goes great with my collection. They also had a $1 area with a bunch of comics! We bought a few just for kicks. They also gave us free comics for making a purchase. I forget the minimum amount but it was nice. If you are ever looking to just browse and are a tad nerdy, drop by! I understand the overhead expenses and having to buy cards at a lower margin to make up for those costs but these guys literally dont know what they are doing. an employee started counting the value of my cards using a site called TCG player but he was never writing these number's down so I could review his offer or even see if he was even adding them up right. Now of course I could have been more prepared by knowing a rough estimate of my collection was worth. But the numbers he was explaining did not make sense and I could tell just by looking at what was in front of me. Not only did it not make sense he had started adding cards to piles that have not been counted yet. yes it could have been a mistake but if he would have known how to properly break it down for the costumer these issues wouldn't even happen. To put this into perspective he offered me around 400. I refused and went to another shop and walked out with 1500. This is a huge problem in the community with scalpers and even people getting ripped off because they are new to the hobby. I write this post to tell you be careful with these card shops and do research before you walk in. If I didn't know about my collection this store was easily trying to rip me off.

They took time to look it up and gave me a price. I got with my wife and had her go purchase since I was unable to go due to work. Long story short , they claimed that price given over the phone was for a different card and that I had given the wrong description ( gave the exact description for the card) agreed to meet at a certain price for the inconvenience but then changed their mind. Ultimately they decided to choose greed over owning up to their mistake and providing good customer service. Do not recommend. P.S my wife felt she was treated poorly because she was female and didn't have a lot of knowledge of the product.
