Beautiful coffee shop Highly recommended…read more Good coffee Great service They serve pastries and a huge selection of chocolate. In the middle of the City of London is a great place to unwind

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with not only how this place has survived over the years, but…read moreevolved into a full-blown sit-down café, complete with sweets and treats to compliment their strong Greek coffee. They even have the fanciest gift boxes you've ever seen outside of Fortnum & Mason. Despite once having been solely a chocolate shop, the interior gives off some posh vibes that invite you to stay awhile. Weather permitting, they also have outdoor seating for some ultimate people-watching. The coffee itself could use some improvement, but overall, it isn't terrible. They serve it with a side of chocolates, so you could chew on the sweet merchandise to cut through the bitterness of the overly-roasted java. Service isn't always the fastest if you're sitting down to eat or drink, but it's more of a "come in and stay awhile" kind of place, anyway. If you are coming in to stay a while, however, expect to pay a lot more than the price of your coffee. My £3.60 oat flat white somehow turned into £6.36 when I got my bill. Considering everything you're getting in one stop, as well as the touristy area it's in, however, you could do worse. They even have a washroom, which - if you're familiar with this part of town - can be a Godsend.

For a tiny place, we were here a while because there's a lot to choose from. Counter service was courteous and prices aren't anything to complain about either. When I was younger and lived in the UK I absolutely loved Bon Bon's, especially the lemon ones…read more Now I didn't just like any Bon Bon's I enjoyed the traditional ones, none of the imitation brands. The last decade when going back I've never found good ones in a pick n mix or in the bags at the grocery stores, I was only able to find cheaper versions and then I stumbled across Hardy's in London! Wow they have the most delicious Bon Bon's in every flavor you can possibly think of! I needed them to last a while so I bought a pre mixed bag for around 3 pound that had toffee, apple, blue berry, vimto, lemon, strawberry...you name the flavor and they had it! The other cool thing about this shop for UK residents is that they have all the "American" candy along with Flips pretzels, peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and other goodies. To me I obviously have this stuff everyday but my local friend was just as excited about the American candy and treats as I was with the bon bon's, we definitely walked out with a sugar high!

Picked up a multitude of Chocolate Blocks from their buy 3 for £5 special & there wasn't a bad one in the bunch.... if we visited again, I'd want to try their truffles Have to agree w/ Katri S that all the chocolates seemed to taste the same & what was interesting to me was that each started out w/ a weird 1st bite but then settled into yummy creamy chocolate after a few more bites. Guess it took a while for my palate to get used to their recipe? We tried the following & nothing really stood out & screamed * Milk Chocolate Fudge - supposed to have pieces of fudge but all I tasted was a creamy choco bar. It was good * Dark Chocolate Berry Boost - this obviously wasn't for me since I think it's a sin to mix fruit w/ my chocolate but no raving feedback received regarding it being outstanding * Belgian Milk Chocolate - basic milk choco bar * Chili Dark Chocolate - this had very little chili flavor & def no heated afterbite kick * Special Toffee - the toffee was chewy & made my teeth stick together. The best of the bunch * Venezuela Milk Chocolate - this tasted like every other Milk Chocolate bar I tried It was all good & I'd even say it was A-OK, but to rank it as Yay! I'm A Fan, I'd have to be craving it & wanting to seek it out on my next visit & for some reason, I'm just not

This shop is Wagashi (Japanese sweetie) HEAVEN!…read more One of the best things about working for a Japanese organisation (even in the UK) is the Japanese concept of omiyage. Whenever Japanese people visit our office, (or when any member of staff goes on holiday, or a business trip) they always bring back some edible gifts for the rest of the staff to munch. Our office has so much that we started an omiyage blog: http://iloveomiyage.tumblr.com/archive I have tried loads and loads of these sweets as lovely visitors bring them to our office...but I hardly ever remember to visit the shop to buy them myself. One of my colleagues is leaving, so yesterday I popped by to buy him some treats. The shop is lovely (and tempting...) with lots of seasonal wagashi along with the constant best sellers. You can take a teeny basket and fill it up with mochi, cake-like sweets and anko-flavoured deliciousness. I love: - If they have them, the Sakura mochi are simply divine. (Mochi filled with a sweet cherry blossom flavour) - Fukuwatashi senbei (A sweet senbei sandwich with creamy stuff in the middle...Nom nom nom) - Tsuya (gorgeous dorayaki, like mini pancakes, filled with anko) - Ayashirabe (white anko-filled manju) - Castella (I think spelled Kasutera here, it's quite nice Japanese version of BOS - boring old sponge) - Maccha mochi (all the best things in one sweet! Anko paste covered in mochi, then dusted with maccha powder...) I'm not so keen on the youkan (blocks of jelly-like stuff)...but all my colleagues love it. *At the moment they have a beautiful display of dolls for Hina-matsuri (girls day), so even if you don't want the sweets, it's worth visiting to see the window display.

Firstly I took photos then looked at what they actually sold and thought I want some!! They sell individual sweets/Mochi/ pancakes etc also boxes. Then I found box sets and went for the £16 one! I was thinking they are expensive sweets so I hope I like them! These are fresh dessert type sweets not like boiled sweets! It is a nice shop, with a couple of seats if you do want to eat in. I've not yet eaten the sweets but I asked how long they last for, and was told they expire that month. So I would say eat them sooner rather than later.
