I had an extremely unprofessional experience with this company. After receiving a quote from American Auto Transport, I reviewed their contract and had legitimate concerns about the non-refundable deposit, broker role misrepresentation, and lack of consumer protections. When I asked for time to consult with family members and a trusted broker before moving forward, I was met with rude, aggressive, and inappropriate text messages, including being told I "wasted their time" and being cursed at -- simply for asking questions. I was told verbally that they were a carrier, but the contract clearly states they are a broker. The contract also states the deposit is non-refundable once a driver is "assigned," even if that driver fails to show -- which raises serious red flags. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking transparent, respectful, or professional service. This is an awful organization. Avoid at all costs. They will lie to you and ignore you the minute they take your deposit. Victor Perugia will call you every 5 minutes to badger you in to signing the docusign so they can take a deposit which is their fee. All they do is put your vehicle on a nationwide network called Universal Dispatch. All car movers use this same network. Truck drivers choose which cars they want to pick up and deliver based on each of their own routes. If American Auto Transport puts too small of a fee, no driver will take your car. They lied to me and strung me along for 8 days and no one ever took my car. Once AAT got my money they ignored all my calls, text messages and emails. Then when I had Amex reverse the charge for the deposit this mean lady Margaret called and lied to me saying a truck was on the way. But this was a total lie. HOW ARE THESE SCUMBAGS NOT IN JAIL. I've discovered that there are several aliases for this business. I dealt with American Speed Auto, the contractor referred to the business as Elite United Transport Services, and I found them on here under this name. In addition to all these fake company names to hide their shadiness, they have different numbers, websites, and names of employees or maybe it's just one employee-that's to be determined. Much like most of the reviews below "Anthony Gallo" of "American Speed Auto" lied about the cost and service details. They said what they needed to say to get the business and then the price turned out to be $400 more and the truck picked up my car 3 days late. Once "Anthony Gallo" got called out, Tony Boloney of American Speed Auto stopped answering and returning my calls. I have several other names and numbers like a Mike from Elite United Transport Services out of Boca Raton that came to light during my conversation with Dan from DWO Corp who was in charge of the driver and truck and who denies knowing anything about the others which I highly doubt. They're good old fashioned crooks. My elderly parents were left no choice but to go through with them in the end because their flights were booked and going with any other company would cost them further money and time. (I'm sure they are well aware the people going from Mass to Fl in November are elders who are not going to drive if push comes to shove.) If it were me I would've told them to enjoy their vacant spot on the truck among other things but they lucked out, for now. They are despicable people who take advantage of the vulnerable. I wish I could give this company 0 stars. They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. I needed to ship my car from Ohio to California and after inputting information online this was one company which came across my radar. I did not make a reservation for a few weeks after the initial inputting of data yet got at least 2-3 text messages a week from this company regarding shipping my car. Finally, I called and requested a quote, which was lower than most other companies I looked at (now I know why). I made a tentative reservation and a contract was sent to my email requesting $250 deposit and the remaining amount to be collected once the car was shipped. After further review of Yelp, Google Reviews and word of mouth (via my moving company) I decided to go with another company which was slightly more money but I am so glad I did. I called back American Auto Transport ("Nick," was the man I was dealing with on the phone thorough the process) and politely told him to cancel my reservation as I did not sign the contract and would not be proceeding with the moving of my vehicle with their company. "Nick," became defensive on the phone, arguing and badgering me requesting why after a few short hours I "changed my mind." When I bluntly stated I went with a more reputable company he hung up the phone on me. After I booked another company (All American Trucking, Inc from California) and my car was already in transit (two days earlier, mind you), "Nick," from American Auto Transport called me back during my proposed pick up day. Also a 3rd party broker contracted with American Auto Transport called me prior trying to arrange a pick-up (which I denied). When I explained to "Nick," that I kindly requested he cancel my reservation he seemed to deny ever receiving this information, and was rude and demeaning to me stating "You don't even know what company you are dealing with." My CC was never charged via American Auto Transport but after my communication (or lack thereof) with "Nick," and this company I promptly requested a new credit card number. I would never recommend this company to anyone (use All American Trucking, Inc from Burlingame, CA and SafeAuto from Roseville, CA). The absolute worst customer service ever. They are liars by omission and they only communicate to secure the order after that you're on your own. There is no guarantee that your car will be picked up on time and once it's picked up you're at the mercy of the truck driver. Our driver took a week off at home in Ohio, before delivering to the western US. AAT doesn't communicate w the driver ever so it's all on you to make all the arrangements from pu to delivery. No matter which truck broker or transporter you choose my advice is to put an Apple Air Tag in the vehicle so you're not dependent on the jerks at AAT or anyone else for up to date info. read more

I received a call a day before our anticipated date of pick-up to inform us that they had scheduled us for two days after our confirmed date. When I attempted to get an answer from customer service, as well as the individual with whom I scheduled (Paul Strausberg), I received no reply. If he was unable to ensure the outside date, he should have been honest and simply told us so that we could remedy this in advance. Whoever the customer rep is in Florida is rude and unresponsive. First thing I was told that the driver couldn't find the vehicle so he skipped it. Second thing I was told by another person was there was a miscommunication between dispatch and driver although the driver had all the information. Third thing that I will still have to pay full price for the service, if they locate another driver. Yeah don't think so since they messed up on their part. I would pay the new driver but not there dispatch fee, which they make sure they get from the beginning. So disputing $125, and having to pay storage fees till another driver is available. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! I should have known. So I used American Auto Transporters (shipcar.com) when I moved across the country. When I needed to move a car across the state I just googled American Auto Transport. What a mistake that was. I landed on this company's page and have regretted every interaction I had with them. To start I got a quote quite quickly. This was a good thing, but then I noticed I was getting called and texted at a very rapid rate. The numbers varied slightly between the calls and the texts. I hadn't committed to buying the car for a couple of weeks. So I dealt with these calls daily for about 3 weeks. While I was in Europe on a business trip they would call, I would send them to voice mail and they would call right back. This would happen 3 - 4 times successively. Then I committed to purchasing the car and needed it moved. A conversation with Andre Martin was a tad stressful. He told me he could move the car next day without a pause to check a schedule. I thought this a tad odd, but hey maybe this guy has the schedule memorized. I wanted times for pickup and delivery as I had to be present to receive the car. They wanted to charge $125 to my card and I had to pay the rest in cash to the driver. This was really odd, but I went ahead and gave him my Amex number. Andre was quick to send the sign here documents that declare limitations of liability. I read through them and signed, they seemed reasonable. The documents state that your charge card will not be charged until the driver is scheduled. This is true so I believe they are operating straight up that way. Why did I give these guys such a bad review? Right after the documents were signed, I sent a text asking for times, I got no response. I called, but at 3pm here on the west coast, they were closed. So I waited until the next morning 6am PDT and sent a text, email and made a phone call. I didn't hear anything until I called customer service. Then I got a text from Lauren stating they were having technical difficulties. Two hours later I responded to ask for an update. I got nothing. I then called the customer service number and told them I would close out the card if they didn't get back to me. I got nothing. I then called the west coast sales number an hour later. I finally got a human. Their excuse was their driver got rerouted. They were trying to reschedule and having problems with that. I stated they needed to communicate this better, rather than have me call every number listed on their website in order to figure this out. I got no apology or any indication that they would make an effort to change this in the future. 2:50 PM rolls around on the west coast and I start calling to get some information. I hit every number on the website and I get nothing. I called Amex and checked to see if they had made a charge. Thankfully they hadn't. At least they held up to their end of that agreement. I put a freeze on the card and I notified American Auto Transport via voicemail and email that I was canceling any service with them. If you have any dealing with these people I would highly recommend not using them for anything. Their communication style is deplorable and I could not trust them to execute the contract properly. I believe this is an operation based in the basement of someone in Florida. They are simply placing C/L ads for people to do the transport for them. I can't see how they can run the way they have.
