STRANDED IN Mcallen Tx
David C.

On a business trip to Mcallen Texas...outbound was ok, On return, I arrived at airport at 0900...flight was scheduled for 10:25. DELAYED 2 hours. Mechanical problems. Concerned that I had several connections to make through Dallas. 2 hours later--"the parts" had to be installed--another 2 hour delay. 2 hours later--another delay. Now I had lost all capability of making ANY connecting flight to Providence. I was now in a line for 2 hours to rebook on a flight next day. I finally got to counter and was told--"All flights are booked for tomorrow"...WHAT!!?? This meant that I was delayed 2 days!!! I contacted Customer Service when I returned--wrote them a nice professional letter asking to be compensated...they replied "sorry--here is $25. " Needless to say---I told them what they could do with their $25. UPDATE!! CS just called me to tell me they made an error--are refunding me 15 k miles and credit and expenses!!

Yes, 4 stars for this round trip from Providence to Aruba. Note that this is based on a comparison with other airline trips, so the bar is quite low! That said, American Airlines on this trip: 1. Departed and arrived on-time or very close to on-time, even with weather issues. 2. Their customer service was prompt, professional and courteous. 3. We were able to sit in exit rows, so our legroom was actually quite good 4. The flight attendants were also polite and professional. 5. The boarding process was organized and timely, even thought all the flights were full. 6. The entertainment system worked, even on my laptop. Only pretzels and cookies were served on a four hour flight from Charlotte to Aruba (though we brought food aboard as did many passengers), nonetheless, they were able to get us there and back without issue, something JetBlue did not accomplish, on two consecutive attempts.

Frequent traveler here. Normally fairly chill about the whole air travel experience because I get that things happen the control of the airline and unless it the behavior of an individual employee, often not controllable by the local airport staff. I was ready to give a 1-2 star review after yesterday's cancelled flight because the communication on the delays were infrequent and mostly via text vs announcements. The data on the AA app was horribly incorrect, as was data available from flight tracking apps. Okay, the flight (and many others) was delayed and ultimately cancelled as a result of a heavy thunderstorm rolling up the east coast and I get that... I've no love of flying through a lightening storm in a metal tube, but the comms could have been much better. So, what changed this to a 4 star review? One person! The gate agent when I showed up 9 hours before my rescheduled flight and approached the counter after bypassing the kiosk to check-in and wait for hours. She was super polite, professional, and efficient when I asked about any opportunities for a seat on an earlier flight, handed me a boarding pass that gets me home about 6 hours earlier than the rescheduled flight. Without a blink she asked if I was checking a bag. Weekends are a precious commodity in my household, so I appreciate getting 25% of my waking hours in the day back. Unfortunately I didn't catch the agents name, but her polite helpfulness made my day. Thanks to this one person, AA remains on the short list of airlines I'll even consider flying.

My text to my friend who were supposed to pick me up.

Terrible! I politely asked them for chicken and rice for an entree and they said no. The plane ride was 23 hours

.If you are considering flying with Frontier Airlines, please do yourself a favor and don't…read more I had the worst experience flying from San Francisco (SFO) to Hartford, with a connection in Atlanta. I paid for a carry-on bag, yet a flight attendant removed my bag from the plane at the last minute and told me it would be checked and delivered to my final destination. During my connection in Atlanta, the situation got even worse. The flight was delayed because the gate was changed at the last minute without any announcement. All passengers were waiting at the wrong gate until someone finally went to ask. Only then did they casually mention--over the microphone--that the gate had changed to another terminal about 15 minutes away. When we finally arrived at the new terminal, the gate was changed again on the screen, and there were no Frontier employees present to explain what was happening or assist passengers. When I arrived in Hartford, my luggage never showed up. Frontier has no employees, no office, and no baggage service desk at the airport. No one answers the phone, and I have been left completely on my own trying to locate my belongings. I am currently in a different state on vacation, without my clothing or personal items. This situation has been extremely stressful and has ruined my vacation. Frontier's lack of communication, organization, and customer support is unacceptable. I still don't know where my bag is or what to do next.

Where to start.... 1. Booked flight from BDL airport to SFO…read moreover Christmas from Dec 17, return on Dec 27/28. Southwest charged the reasonable $35 fee to check a small soft fabric bag. 2. Arrived at BDL airport, flew to Baltimore on Southwest with three hour layover but due to a power outage in SF, turned into a six hour layover. Not their fault, I get it. 3. Arrived at SFO for my flight to BDL on December 27,2025 and was told there was no free carry on luggage, all luggage was charged an exhorbitant fee. One small carry on bag and another bag the same size as the other and the combined fee was $158!!!!!! 4. Arrived at the gate and heard flight crew discussing that we would be taking a short cut to the layover destination in Atlanta. Being a well traveled person, I was wary of the shortcut, and I was correct to worry. I asked the directions of the shortcut and it would be over the Rocky Mountains, in my opinion the roughest, most turbulent area in the US. The shortcut allowed us to reach Atlanta in 3.59 minutes, which was extremely fast, but no paying customer had asked for a three hour turbulent ride where the plane was shaking so hard from the turbulance, the sides of the plane soundd like they were coming undone. I know I was not the only person praying outloud as the plane hurtled through the air fast as a fighter jet. It was so fast that I guess one way to deal with bad turbulence is to hurtle through it as fast as one can, but the resultant feeling was chaos and not safe. 5. We landed more than an hour early and my thought was Well, okay. Great. I sure couldn't sleep on that red eye flight so I will get something to eat, but barely had the chance as there were three gate changes in the time we had, with the last change being a train ride to get to that last gate which was located at the very end of the train ride. All of the passengers, I am guessing about 300 people made a mad dash for the train since we were supposed to board as soon as we got there. No surprise, the train was packed to the gills. I know Frontier does not operate the train, but there were no handrails for me to hold onto and I couldn't reach the straps. I am 5'3" which is not tiny, but there was nothing I could reach and had to rely on the crowd of people to hold me upright. On exiting the train, there was an escaltor which a woman I had visited with fell down because her suitcase didn't fit on the escalator stair. 6. We finally got to the correct gate and when it was time to board, we found out the scanner gun for the boarding passes wasn't working. Yes that's right. The scanner wasn't working, so they had to check everyone onto the plane by searching for the boarding pass number on a list of passengers, then making a call to be sure this was correct. 300 people not being scanned, 300 waiting patiently as it went. 7. We got on the plane and a young girl sitting next to me, who had put her luggage into the bin sideways instead of wheels to the back was told she had to check her bag. The steward gave her a ticket for her bag but he first wrote MIA for Miami airport on the ticket, she corrected him and said she was going to Bradley, but he wrote ATL for Atlanta, and when I called him over and said she is not going to Atlanta she is going to Bradley, he just scratched it out and rewrote it. It is no wonder her bag is now lost and she cannot reach anyone at Frontier to help her find her bag. 8. Last of all, no one seemed in any hurry to get us out of there. The staff stood at the open door laughing and talking long after we were all boarded on the plane. We arrived almost 3 hours late, and when we got there it was freaking forever before baggage came out and as I said, not everyone got their bag. I will never fly Frontier again if only because a $60 charge for a carry on bag is insane and highway robbery. The almost $80 charge for the checked bag ($35 0n Southwest) was insane as well. When all charges were added up, I doubt my flight was cheap. I'd have rather spent it on a more reputable airline and next time I will. Remember, you get what you paid for. I only wish there were stars for BAD. This flight was BAD.

While it is no longer open seat, it is assigned seats but the system is very good so I enjoy it…read more The staff from the front desk to the flight attendants all the way to the pilots are always so nice and attentive. I've never had an issue flying southwest. For some context I am hard of hearing. So with said disability- my ticket says accommodation, now while in the system it says someone is "deaf or hard of hearing" on the plane they don't know it's me until I say something. I'm always greeted kindly and checked on often. I pre-board and my flight attendant is made aware of my special accommodations and I go from there. No feeling different just the extra help and I go about my way. I've never had a plan delay on southwest flights and the process is always smooth. A little joke here and there eases my anxiety as well, so it's much appreciated. They lose one star because now that it's assigned seating the prices have spiked, ticket prices and bag prices. Even though it's still free carry on and free personal, checked bags are pricey.

I used to really enjoy flying Southwest... but after their latest news, I don't think we'll be…read morebooking with them anymore. It's disappointing to see an airline that was known for putting people first take away the very perks that made them stand out. It definitely feels like they've lost touch with what their customers value, and because of that, we'll be avoiding Southwest unless it's absolutely necessary. BRING BACK FREE CHECKED BAGS
