AA came through in the clutch and I'm super grateful!
I have never missed a flight because of my own carelessness, but there's a first time for everything. I had a morning flight home from Amsterdam and ended up missing it because I overslept. The gate agent called me twice to see where I was. I don't know if airlines normally do this, but I was so surprised to receive a phone call. I felt bad that they were waiting on me. Oops.
After having a mini panic attack, I called the customer service line to rebook my flight. Luckily I did not have to wait too long to be connected with a representative. Julie was the rep that helped me, and help me she did.
Julie was so nice and patient with me as I was not feeling well. She went through the different options that I had and was just very nice and understanding. She managed to rebook me on the same flight for the next day and get me an aisle seat at no additional cost! I was so relieved that I didn't have to pay a steep fee since it was my own fault for missing my flight. Once everything was rebooked, I received confirmation and had no issues the next morning when I arrived at the airport.
I've had mixed experiences with AA, but this particular interaction was awesome. Thank you for the excellent customer service! read more
