If you have the opportunity to go into the First Class lounge, take it. It's comfortable and there are a lot of seats available. There are a lot of food options available. There are plenty of outlets to charge phones and such. Staff is helpful. The LHR boards for where your gate is updates after I receive the gate info in my AA app, so I typically know where I'll be going well before I am supposed to head to my gate, but the board says WHEN to go to the gate. read more

The American Airlines Admiral's Club in Terminal 3 at Heathrow is very nice. The Flagship Lounge is even nicer. Access is limited by One World/Advantage status and ticketing code. The Flagship Lounge offers a very nice buffet and an open bar. Staff are plentiful, pleasant and welcoming. The seats are comfortable and there are plenty of space for guests. A nice place to relax and enjoy a drink and meal while you wait for your flight! read more

Lit like a hospital, very limited O.K. food options and a really small space, this is easily the worst first class lounge I've visited. Compared to other just O.K. American flagship lounges this one is shocking limited in its amenities and service - you'd be better off going to an Alaska Lounge. Presumably if you have access here then you likely have access to other One World lounges at Heathrow so don't even bother stepping inside; Qantas, British Airways, Amex, and especially Cathay First are all highly superior to this place. It's hard to believe this lounge is as poorly appointed as it is - especially with the material upgrades AA has been conducting on their Flagship product across their system. This club bears zero resemblance to their basic Admirals Club level - let alone what their loyal flyers have come to expect in DFW, MIA, LAX, JFK and LGA. Beat down, worn out and cramped - the food is average at best and the facilities are small and not particularly hygienic. The staff is the exception in my experience - friendly, accommodating and typically going out of their way to make you as welcome as they can. This lounge needs to be totally redesigned - which they may possibly be working on. But it's overdue. Even the priority pass lounges in T3 (Aspire & No.1) are materially better than this one. read more

The Admiral's Club is pretty well run with the exception of how long it takes to keep various items filled on the breakfast buffet line. There is a very tasty selection to fill your English breakfast cravings, and a small selection of cold breakfast items on the flip side. The coffee, tea, and drink table has a good selection including most of your favorite alcohol brands, along with champagne, and OJ to whip yourself up a few Bellinis if your in the mood. read more

There are two areas in the lounge the admirals club and the international first class lounge. I never noticed the International 1st class lounge because I was always shown to the Admiral's clubs but this time. Maybe I got an upgrade. Food and drinks seem to be similar in both areas as well as the place to plug in your laptop or your phone. Free Wi-Fi throughout et cetera. Often overlooked are the free showers. I took several photos of the shower rooms take advantage and feel better before your next flight. read more

The American flagship lounge in Chicago is by far Americans best club so far in the states. The selection of wine, beer and liquor is very nice. You don't see good cold sake in other lounges. The food is fair. Good but nothing to really write about. Would be better if they had dining service like some other lounges. You have to be flying international to get invited into the flagship lounge. I know this as I am a admirals club member and executive platinum on American Airlines. The is plenty of room in the lounge. It's big and can host many travelers. If you have an extended layover or just time to kill this is a nice lounge to relax in. Check it out for yourself read more

"Brexit" has prompted me to review BA's partners at LHR. Hoping we can stick around yea? ;) Honestly, the only reason why I came to AA's flagship lounge was to see how my beloved airline back home fared on the international scene. Needless to say, it ended up being a good lounge, albeit basic compared to the obvious heavy hitters of BA lounges found in Heathrow. Being an international lounge, I was pleased that there was at least complimentary bites and free flowing drinks available to guests. There were even fresh fruit smoothies- something I hadn't seen elsewhere around LHR. Lunch hours had chicken curry (yum) and some plain pasta with your choice of sauce. I'd skip this option if I were you. Being one of the lesser known lounges, there was an abundance of space during my visit. If you're looking to escape Galleries' crowds, then AA is a decent option to turn to. read more

Great lounge for food and rest. Now very crowded and they have a la carte menu for ordering individual items in addition to various ready-to-eat buffet station. Breakfast offers healty yogurt, fruit and cereals as well as eggs, sausages, muffins and etc. I thought it was much better than BA lounge. It's relatively small compared to BA lounge but not many people. I might take AA just to use this lounge over BA. read more

American Airline admiral lounge at Heathrow airport (terminal 3) is below the expected standard of such major airline name at a such a major hub. It is relaxing with free wifi, shower areas. Etc But the food selection is very similar to what you would expect at a school cafeteria. read more

Oddly small and closed-in feeling for a "flagship lounge". Especially when you compare to the much nicer, larger and better appointed BA lounges that are just upstairs from this one. Plus the wifi was spotty (grr) which is usually one of the selling points of being in the lounge vs out with the masses in the terminals. At least unlike the American Airlines lounges in the US all the food and snacks are included (how they get away with charging in the US is beyond me). And I did make use of the shower facilities, which were nice, and better than the British Airways ones (which have an odd airline bathroom-like cramped feeling). read more

Technically this is separated into two lounges: one for OneWorld Emerald members (or those flying business class) and one for those without Emerald (AA Exec Plat) status. The Emerald side is much better, as you can order off of an unseen menu for free and the staff is helpful. There is a shower suite that is rarely occupied as well as 4 lounge chairs that fully recline. The non-Emerald side has less food and drink options and less comfortable furniture. Both sides have complimentary limited alcohol. Overall, Emerald gets 3.5 stars, non-emerald 2.5 stars. If you want something really nice, the BA First Class Lounge is really good and can be entered without status for a $50 entry fee (ideal for long layovers). read more

American carriers aren't usually known for their lounges, so I was skeptical when I connected at LHR. But I figured why not check out the AA Lounge with my new Oneworld status. It wasn't amazing, but it beat the hell out of a normal domestic lounge. They had a make your own burger bar, and it turned out to be a better food option than the BA lounge I went to after. I think BA usually wins, so maybe I caught them when they were changing out the food. read more

If you have the opportunity to fly first class international do it. A very nice and comfy lounge. Lot's of food choices and great service, the staff is constantly cleaning and cleaning up after guests. I have been in many of these lounges and they are very nice from the full bar to nice espresso makers and full menu items to eat. read more

This lounge used to be good until AA decided to cut out the Lanson Black champagne and move to generic, sweet, nasty Prosecco. Bad move AA. You can still get fruit smoothies though, which is kind of cool. The food changes every few weeks too which is another advantage. There is plenty of seating area and charging ports. More then enough plug outlets for both uk and us cords. Oh there was a brownie type thing with a red sauce and was not very good. I wouldn't recommend that. OK food selections, on par with CX's First Class Lounge. BA's Galleries Lounge is still the best amongst the OneWorld Lounges in Heathrow with better premium liquors (e.g. Gentlemen Jack and Johnny Walker's Red Label), a champagne bar, and made to order meals. That said, almost every seat has a power outlet, which is nice, and generally the place is not very packed compared to the Admiral Clubs area. All in all, not a bad place to hangout before an 11 hour flight back home. read more

The WIFI is fast while I was there and I was able to access a desktop computer. Would've been a 5 star had the bathrooms been cleaner. Since I do not pay for access directly, it is difficult to complain much about the lounge. The breakfast buffet is ok, I would opt to pay for a restaurant meal if I were looking for more then sustenance. There are snacks and drinks to enjoy during your wait as well. Plenty of US/UK power stations and cushy arm chairs for the tired traveler throughout. A little more peaceful than waiting at the airport terminal. read more

I've been here a number of times during international trips. Food options are fairly limited, but this is a small club. I know others will attempt to compare to the BA Concorde lounge, and you simply cannot do that - the Concorde lounge is a much different experience and also a much larger club. read more

Nice to arrive and have a shower. Buffet breakfast is nice, fresh croissants were good, but the coffee is weak. They need a better coffee vendor to get the fifth star. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and they have valet service for clothes if you want them pressed while you shower. That's a nice touch. read more
